Good morning.

Feel better Lily and Amanda.

Suzanne....whenever you want Sees just drop me a note. Dave works about 1/2 mile from one of the stores that offers his work people a discount ;)

I do hope today is a better day for getting on the boards ::yes::

Just a note here....I have cleaned my keyboard, my monitor and my mouse with industrial strength cleaning stuff! I do not want to catch anythign that you all are passing around!! yuck! Get well everyone!!

Alan... :lmao: I have a few of those space cadets on my roster too!!

Kimmar... you are a mothy one!! I'm just happy to have finally hit 2000!! That was a big deal for me!

Nancy... you're probably right about that for next year!! hehehe

Speaking of the library...I took the boys over there last night to pick up a book I had on hold and was surprised by the new technology. I dont' usually hit the library...I'm bad for buying a book when I see one. So last night was the first time in probably 2 years I had been inside one and this is a newly built one to replace a decrepit one. Anway, they have a self check out where you lay your books on what looks like the demagnatizing thingy and the computer reads the books that you have. You can even stack the books on top of each other and the machine will still read the books. When you are done you touch the screen to say done, it tells you the return date on the books, you hit done again and it spits out a reciept. Gone are the days with the little stamp thingy to tell youw hen your book is due!! Now I have one more dang receipt to keep up with  But it was really cool.

Jarrod enjoyed the library and Ethan was trying to grab every book his fingers came across. But then he would turn around and sit in my lap to look at the book.

Okay, gotta go and beg my admin to let me take off part of one morning so that I can go to the March of Dimes Walk America kick off breakfast. They let me do it last year, so I'm hoping they let me do it again this year.

As the gov of Cali says...I'll be back!!

HI everyone - remember me??

Been very aggrivated with Server Busy messages - had to boycott for a few days.

Not even going to attempt a proper ketchup but just know you have all been in my thoughts.

Got Alyssa back to school on Sunday - left here at 9am - got back here at 5pm. Man Iwish riding in the truck was not so uncomfortable for me. Took her out to lunch at Applebees - got the Italian combo - yummy.

Got serious (again) about dieting yesterday - ate good food and did my 15 minutes on the gazelle.

Chris does not have school today - it's make-up day for exams. Did I mention that he didn't study for any?? Why do I have a feeling that his happy social life will be quickly ending??

I'm a little stressed with the post christmas bills coming in but stepping up and making a plan....

I'll check in later.

Love and hugs to all....

Now with that radio active dye, I guess he is super charged for a while.

He'll stop glowing in two or three days. When my dad had a stress test, I brought home a geiger counter from work and showed my kids how grandpa was radioactive.

All of you sickos are still in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

Get well soon.

Did you let your kids take Gramps to school for show and tell the next day????
:rotfl2:

Been cleaning and resting today... messed up my back so I am taking things much slower than I would otherwise. Reading the book "Wicked" and honestly I do not know what I think of it yet.

Kimmar, will it help that I will be gone for four days next month? Won't be bringing my laptop with me on that trip

Nancy, I hope so too! I have several PMs just waiting for me to have the tme and the boards to be working so I can reply. I hate when they "build up"

Tara, I am much like you. I just buy books instead of going to the library. But that sounds very cool!

Paula, so glad to see you pop in! I figured you were busy with the family! Good luck with Christopher & the grades! Good luck with the dieting too. I started back on my bike yesterday myself.

LOL, John! I love your sense of humor!

I meant to say Welcome back Paula. Good luck with Chris and the exams.

Elaine...i'm shocked that you are not taking your lap top with you on your bd trip!! :faint:

I really need to work today and i'm not the least bit interested in it! :rotfl:

I have a question: Here's the scenario: Someone invites you to a fancy restaurant for dinner (you know that it is every woman for themselves) that requires reservations. You are not sure what you are doing that weekend so after recieving the inviation do you:
a) respond immediately with the information that you are not sure what you are doing that weekend but if given a few days you should be able to firm up your plans and you'll let the inviter know.

or

b) don't respond at all because you don't know what you are doing?

I'm asking because I've invited some people to join us for dinner at the Melting Pot on Sunday. My DSIL is payinig for my dinner but it is always more fun to have more people there. So I invited 3 other people to join us. The others responded right away.
One never did. So i saw her in the halls a few days later and asked her about it. She said she didn't respond one way or the other because she didn't know what she was doing that weekend. She told me she would get back to me. So I have been waiting two weeks to hear from her. So today I asked her again and she still doesn't know what she is doing. She wants me to wait until this afternoon to confirm my ressies because she plans to make up her mind today  It is very frustrating because if I need to add more seats I need to do it soon so we get a time that is convient for everyone.

What would you do? I'm leaving the ressie as it stands with only 6 seats, figuring she won't come anyway.

okay, enough rambling.

to lunch I go!!
tara

Tara, with my laptop & camera, it gets really hard to take carry on with both so that one doesn't wind up beneath the plane. If we were on a bigger airplane I could take the laptop with me and pack the camera in my bag and have that above me. It just doesn't work well and for only 4 days, I am not checking bag just to get it to work ;) So.... I also know how little I was online the last time I was there. Not worth the hassle. I'll just take Luis' extra CF with me and I should be good on the pics :)

As for the response... I usually let people know right away if I have plans that may or may not conflict. However, if I were you, I would've made the ressies for 7 and thought it would be better to have the extra room in case she did show than not. There are many times that I make extra and if they don't show it's usually not a huge deal. Easier than having 6 and trying to stick another at the table... that gets harder to do.

I actually did have plans I wasn't sure of not too long ago, and told them I wasn't 100% sure since the group had made plans to get together... just not as sure of which weekend it would be. They added us just in case and I told them the day before (as I promised I could) that we would show. Seemed to work for us... and I do thnk it is rude for something liek that to not let someone know. Sometimes you can't make plans for sure, and I think it's always fair to tell the truth.

Elaine....I'm trying to read Wicked too...not an easy read by any means - we should read it together!!

Tara - I would most likely respond immediately and ask when would be the latest that I could confirm.....now if someone would only ask me to dinner...

Forgot to mention earlier that Alyssa saw Brokeback Mountain last week - she (the deep one) loved it ......can't stop talking about it...Ryan....not so much .....in my book he gets points for going with her. I'm thinking of asking my sister in law to go for her birthday.

Gotta check work e-mails....back later..... :surfweb:

That explains it Elaine...I understand.

This person that I invited is flaky at times so I didn't want to increase and then get there to find out we had too many seats. I might call and try to add one more just on the off chance she will decide to come.

Paula...I'll add an extra one for you. We are meeting at the Melting Pot at 6 pm! You are more than welcome to join us!! sorry I'm not closer or you would certainly have been invited!!

Okay, I have a decsion to make...maybe I'll post a poll :teeth:

With 35 rapidly approaching for me :faint: I have an opportunity to go White Water rafting in June. I'm trying to decide if I want to do it or not. I feel like at 35 I've never done anything "exciting" and that i'm getting too old to do anythign too exciting. It requires two nights of camping and then the trip down the river. Its only $100 (plus gas to get there and back) so that's not an issue...I'm just not sure I'm the right type of person for it. I think I'm too much of a chicken...but then again it sounds like a lot of fun and last year's group had a great time. ugh! I don't know what to do! Mid-life crisises suck!!! :lmao: (he is just too darn cute!!)

I would assume she is not coming, Tara....that's me. If I was asked, I would respond right away. I hate leaving people waiting.

I would also go rafting ::yes:: Heck, I would do it now and I am a lot more than 35 ;)

Dave is still trying to get through Wicked, so I haven't had a chance yet. We also have Mirror, Mirror and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister.
We're book buyers too....haven't been to the library in years.

I liked Brokeback Mountain. Very well done and an interesting story...but very sad, IMHO.
There were a lot of men in the theater (with women ;) ) when I went. They were an "older" crowd ;)

Guess there was "tweaking" of the boards. No server busy message....but it sure is moving SLOW for me now....not sure which is worse :(

My Seahawk dressed Nutmeg is leaving later....and Lily, Wally and Bianca will be back :)

A bit slow here on the loading as well! I think I'd rather that... not sure though, but today I can deal with that better than the other.

Paula, how far along are you in the reading of Wicked? I just got through the Munchkinland part. It doesn't seem that "hard" to me (but geez, after Tolkein that's not saying much). I'm just nto getting "into it" Maybe it feels slow to me or something.

Oh and Ryan's a good guy for going! I thnk if I see the movie, it will have to be rented much later!

Tara, I figured at Melting Pot, it might be nice to have six in a bigger table if you can do it anyway. But if they can't do it, I wouldn't worry about it and just tell the flake that they couldn't add her in. Next time invite me instead :p I love that place and we were just talking about going again! I still think that was very rude of her not to let you know one way or the other. I know I felt bad with my friends, but one was planned first (save the date) so I couldn't just drop it completley... of course I'd have to wonder what was also more important. Mine was a church group function where I agreed to do something... so unless it was a thing like that or a family thing, I wouldn't be all that thrilled about the wishy washy person in the first place ;)

Oh go for the rafting if you want! Camping isn't my cup of tea, so I ma not sure I'd do it, but I wouldn't be drawn to it in the first place. I say go for it though!!!! It could be a blast!

Luis just called and finally on his way home, so I better fly!

Nancy, I forgot to tell you that Lito has on his shirt from WSU I think it is... so we are definitely not Washington haters ;)

Did a nasal rinse today... yuck! I hope they work ::yes::

Gotta run!

Just finished dinner and thought I'd pop on for a few.

Let me know how Wicked is, Elaine. I have it on my list of books to read. :)

Amanda, I'm tired just reading about your week. :faint: Hope you have some time to relax somewhere in there.

Hey All,

Sherry congrats on Junior going back to work!! How wonderful for both of you.

Suzanne Im sorry they are still stumped on exactly whats wrong. Its hard when you dont exactly fit into the mold of something. BTDT. Sorry you are not getting back what you expected. We still have to do our taxes. Dh hasnt gotten his W2 yet and we havent gotten the paperwork from the mortgage company. I am totally floored that that witch of a former landlord of yours still hasnt returned your money.

Tara I would go rafting. You only live once and you will always be saying what if if you dont go. I think it is very rude of that person to make you wait so long to find out if she is coming or not.

Paula good luck with Chris and his exams.

Kimmar congrats on 8000!!

Well I now own a TENS unit thanks to my insurance. The doctor is trying this out to see how it works for my pain. I saw him today and he gave me shots in the worst areas. I have to have an MRI done on Thursday night to see just how bad the damage to my back and sacroiliac joint is and then he feels he needs to refer me for epidural injections into my spine. Just the thought of that gives me the willies but he said they give good drugs so you dont care that they are jamming a huge needle in your spine. :scared1: Ummm yeah right. Dh is definitely going to have to go with me. I have to go through a series of three as it often takes that much for it to really work. Im in a lot of pain tonight....more than usual because of the shots but the TENS unit has made it more bareable. Thankfully it is small enough to be worn on my belt line without anyone seeing it so I can use it at work. Im to turn it on for 30 minutes at a time when the pain gets bad. My neighbor who is a massage therapist wants me to call his boss tomorrow and talk to him. He said he might be able to work with me on my deductible as he is the type of doctor who really cares about his patients and wants them out of pain. This way I can try some massage therapy to see if that helps also. My neighbor has done a lot of talking to his boss about me so he knows of me. He also said if I need any help with the TENS unit day or night just come get him. I asked him where to buy the pads that go with it and he said not to buy them he would get them for me. He is such a sweetie. He is such a caring soul. I am lucky to have such good neighbors. We help each other out.

Well Im gonna go lay down until dinner is ready. Dh is making something that smells absolutely delish.

I will checkin laters.

HUGS TO ALL!! :grouphug:

no time to check in. I'm headed to bed. have a good night all!!

tara

Hmmm... I guess I am not posting when I cannot get online or trhough... seems I am not the only one as well (from other groups). I admit I will walk away while loading and give up

Sherry, I'll let you know when I finish it. I haven't given up on it yet, but eh... I'm shocked I am not into it more.

Okay what is TENS? I admit I am clueless :o

Tara, I hope you have a good night!

I am off myself! A bit tired and want to read some!

Evening, all.

Got sickie sleeping on me. His tummy has decided that the 'do not enter' sign is in place for now. He cried on me that it was no fair that he was hungry and couldn't eat. Especially the fortune cookie that came with the soup I got for him.

Tara, I'd let you know right away that I'll be getting back to you (and let you know probably not or most likely I'll be there) Take me, I love fondue! Rafting, yes. I wish my wrists would allow for it. ExDH and three friends went down the Youghegieny river in PA (near Falling Water) and they had an absolute blast. Find out the level of the rapids (1 through 5). I wouldn't do a 4 or a 5 first time out, but 1 through 3 should be good.

Nancy, I may just take you up on that someday, lol. Lawyer (supposedly) has filed our small claim. She's not going to be very pleased. It's going to cost her nearly triple what she owed me because Florida statute is very clear-make claim against tenant in 15 days IN WRITING or return all funds. Now, she's obligated by law to pay me, my lawyers fees, court costs, sheriffs fees, process server and it's getting garnished off the rent from the current tenant. Oh, and she's still getting a homestead exemption when she doesn't live in the house-she'll get a fine for that and be ordered to pay back taxes.

Alan, don't get me started with the space jokes!!

John, so Grandpa was a nightlight for a couple of days, huh?

Lily, I hope DH's tests go well and that tomorrow isn't too terribly bad for being sick at work.

Amanda, hey, your week mirrors my week! :rotfl:

Tonight was the Public Notice meeting for the Library project. Yep, we're getting one within walking distance!!! WooHoo!

Paula :wave2: Drop in when you can.

Karen, isn't the TENS great? I've had many exposures to my friend the TENS. I used to joke with my PT that it just might disappear one day. Although the percussive massager does a decent job on the shoulder now.

I so want to move but I can't disturb sleeping child yet!

Suzanne

Suzanne, I hope your sickie is feeling better soon! And good luck to that landord, she's gonna need it! I never understood why they try to get people who lived with them so much. It doesn't make a snit of sense to me! Ours actually did two things illegal, but since we were looking at less than $50, we let it go. We had enough issues with them that it just wasn't worth it in the end!

Morning Sherry! How is life with Junior back at work?

I will be visiting with a friend today. Not sure what time I will leave yet. But Karen and I haven't had much time together lately so I am looking forward to it :)

I started on an afghan last night... that thing is going to take forever

Morning....

Got everything done I needed to yesterday. Now Todd and I just need to clean the house. This is mostly bathrooms, dusting and vacuuming.

Update on SIL situation. She called MIL yesterday to inform her that she doesn't feel we should get together as a family anymore. I was shocked. All over me wanting to get dinner resolved. I did leave her a message, she never answers her phone, and asked that if they were upset the speak with me, not MIL or comments to my daughters. I said it nicely and told them to call me if they wanted to discuss it. As I thought....no call came.

Tara....go camping and rafting. We love camping and I want to try rafting, just no time. Too many other commitments to trips.

Suzanne...hope things are better at your house this morning. Sad if you week is like mine.
