HI everyone....

We had a busy weekend - had my friend Judy and her family and Alyssa 's boyfriends family for a "late christmas" - gifts galore!! Alyssa got a beatiful charm bracelet from Judy - March of the Penguins dvd and book - giftcards - etc. I got one of those silicone muffin pans with rack from Ryan (he will benefit too from this) - 2 pairs of pj's from Judy - and a nice goodie filled box from Ryan's family - Jeffrey got a bottle of wine and beer glasses - Chris got AE clothes and gift cards. Fun was had by all.

Took Alyssa shopping at the outlets yesterday - all she got was a pair of cropped (or I would call then gaucho) pants and a pair of gray dress pants. She bought cute embroidered flats at Old Navy last night - today we look for a top to go with either. She is so excited to be going to Broadway tomorrow.

Got a really wierd phone call last night - from Alyssa's ex.....yes - he wanted to talk to me ....it was so strange - he is now in the military - kept calling me ma'am....I really wanted to say "what do you want - why are you calling me?" but I didn't just found myself making small talk. He said it was something he had been wanting to do for a long time - not sure why - he dumped her (they had been together for over 2 yrs). Anyway - very very wierd - freaked Alyssa out - as soon as she knew it was him she left......I talked to her about it afterwards - she said she didn't care but I know the hurt is still there.

Update on Chris - counsellor has decided to do IQ and other testing - not sure now if he is ADD..... on a good note - he is doing pretty well following the "rules, responsibilities and priveleges" contract that I wrote up....one day at a time.

Tara - hugs to you and Jarrod - I have often felt that I was the only one that knew the "real" Chris.

Elaine - glad to hear you are feeling better today.

JR Karen - walk softly!!

I still have some christmas decorations up.....

One last thought.....you don't really know how uncoordinated you are until you try to use a Gazelle!!

That, my friend, is why I won't ever own one of those machines. I am the eight dwarf, Clumsy!

Weird about that phone call, Paula.

Cleaning around here, toasting up some lunch and faxed off some important stuff...cross your fingers! ::yes::

Kevin griped at me this morning about the (so called) messy living room. Apparently, Ed was complaining last night. Ironic that the kid who's room is always a pig sty is giving me grief that I didn't clean something, when all it is mail that hasn't been sorted and all the DVD's they watched this past week but didn't put away! Blogged about it, and I think I'll be having a very important talk tonight about not airing grievances about each other in front of the kids!

Back later...

I beg to differ. The 8th dwarf was Hungry. I know this for a fact based on the following one liner:

It wasn't until their numbers dwindled from 50 to 8 that the other dwarfs began to suspect Hungry.

Nice one, John.

BTW, why do cannibals get sick after eating missionary stew?

Because you can't keep a good man down!

I am the eighth dwarf, Sleazy!

Nancy, you implying that your kids weren't angels? I always thought like mother like daughter (at least in one case it works :p)

Paula, sounds like a bunch of nice gifts! Outfit for Alyssa sounds cute! I wish I could wear those pants... they dwarf me. Why did her ex call though? that does sound odd to me. Poor Alyssa though

Suzanne good luck with the cleaning. And I realized I am in a fog, but what did you fax off?

John :rotfl:

Alan, I figured you were either Grumpy or Dopey

Or alternately, why don't cannibals eat clowns?

Because they taste funny. :crazy2:

:rotfl2: okay, ya'll are killing me!!!!

Alan, I loved your response on the mississippi thread!! somehow I can see you doing that!!! hehehehe

[font=Arial[/QUOTE]

LOL...the daughter was/is good ....Like me :teeth:
The son  he had his moments. But he is great now!! ::yes::

Some one turn the faucet off already. We are on day 22 of rain. About ready to set a record. The rivers are getting high and not even due to snow run off
But...my last thing for the Disney trip came :bounce: All is good :teeth:

Hey...those are the kind of jokes my Dave tells....all the time  Are you ready, Elaine? :rotfl:

Oh Nancy, no worries, my family is like that and a few of my friends are like that too! As long as I am not expected to laugh at every one of them, we'll be fine :teeth:

Rainy here too... not sure when the last time I saw the sun for more than a minute.

You can just roll your eyes at him, Elaine. He's used to it ::yes:: ;)

Sun...what is that.
You know the saying...Seattleites don't tan, we rust.....I am thinking it is going to be true this year

Hey All,

Suzanne you were right the med patch was too high for me. I ended up taking it off on Friday because I was sick and falling asleep standing up. He gave me a new lower dose. Gonna put it on tonight. Yesterday I think was a bug because dh, ds, and I were all sick. Ds is the only one who tossed though. I definitely see you as a redhead. You are firey like a redhead and thats meant in the most nicest of terms. You know what you want and you go for it. You are fiercely devoted and protective of family. All the good stuff. Grrrrr about Ed airing his grievences in front of the kids. Mine does that every so often and it makes me mad because then I hear it from them and they dont need to be involved. If dh's have something to say it should be said to us and messes should be looked at as to WHO made them. Nine times out of ten its the dh and the kids who didnt clean up after themselves.

Elaine glad you are feeling better.

Nancy whatever you do dont rust okay??

Paula Alyssa's outfit sounds so cute. Sorry about her ex calling you last night. That was weird.

Oh Alan and John you two are incorrigable. Sounds like the jokes my dh tells. He would be in good company with you two.

Tara sorry you had such a rough night. My youngest has been having problems sleeping also lately so I can relate to what you are going through. I really hate using the med we have for him to sleep because I try to keep him on as little medication as possible.

Karen glad to hear the toe is feeling better and you wont have any problems for your trip.

Today was busy at work. They were all glad I was back and feeling better. Came home and its actually.....drumroll......quiet. The kids are doing their homework and studying. Its kinda spooky LOL!!! My eldest got quite a talking to yesterday by both his dad and myself and was told what he was doing was unacceptable and now he has to earn his game time by doing what he is supposed to do without us having to yell and holler. I think that seemed to get his attention more than taking stuff away.

Well gonna get all the fixings ready for dh to make din din when he gets home. We have a new pact. He makes din din and I clean up after. He is a much better cook and loves to cook so it works out well for him and for me both.

I will checkin laters.

HUGS TO ALL!!! :grouphug:

I shouldn't laugh at that Nancy, but that just struck me as funny! Around here we just go pale in the winter. We don't get all that much snow really, but it is gray for about 3 months solid :(

And rolling eyes is good... I have that perfected thanks to Pete & Luis :teeth:

Karen, glad to hear that your day went better. Sorry for the bug those... stomach ones stink!

Going to call my dad and reheat left overs for dinner. I have half of my Christmas stuff down today and hope to get the rest down in the next day or two. Actually I just have the tree left, so that can take a while if I get all sentimental with it

Am I the only person that took the tree down 2 days after Christmas? :teeth: I was sick of it all, and since our friends and their kids were coming over on NYE, I decided to put everything away.

We're pale under the rust ;)

My tree came down on the 31st, Sherry.
It was nice to get everything cleaned up.

Still raining......lots of flooding and slides happening now :(
We're situated well to avoid that, but watching the news sure is sad.
Snowing in the mountains too. They have closed the pass to take care of some avalache dangers

Cute!!!

Sherry, we keep ours up through the whole church Christmas season... so Sunday was the last day for us with it up. I love the tree though... about 1000 white lights glowing at night looks pretty to us.

I've gotta run though, House is on :)

Evening.

Apparently, Ed (before finding out that I'd slept until the time I was supposed to be at work) came in yesterday and said "I thought she was going to do laundry and run the dishwasher"...which I'd said I would do. Kevin interpreted it completely differently.

Ahhh, Hungry. You mean like my prank I always wanted to do "Donner, party of 12, your table is ready" ..."donner, party of 7, your table is ready"..."donner, party of 4, your table is ready"..."donner, party of 2, your table is ready"...Donner, party of one has cancelled the table!

Only one kid for report card night tomorrow. Neil's ex teacher conveniently is completely booked for conferences. I think she's afraid of us-dunno why. She should be!

Alan, there's a mother goose and grimm strip with you in it...Sleazy. I have it in a scrapbook around here somewhere.

Lainey and Nancy, I live in the sunshine state and I probably rival your pale skin, lol. I'm not much of a sun worshipper...although the more I walk, the more I fear the leather skin look happening.

Suzanne

Wow, looks like ya'll had a nice chatty day! No time to do a real ketchup, but I wanted to drop in and leave some prayers and PD for everyone who need it. Lots and lots of            and mad, mad love for all of ya's!! Working days the rest of this week, so I should have some time to play! Night-night!

Morning All,

Woke up at 4:15 and figured it wasnt worth it to go back to bed for 45 minutes. Ive just been reading the boards and relaxing with a cuppa coffee.

Suzanne you were so close on the name of the company. Its Jennsen. Good memory. Im gonna try and call them today about the covers. Im with you on living in Florida and being pale. I dont go out in the sun for the same reason. Plus I have had two family members get skin cancer on their face and I dont wanna deal with that.

Nancy please be careful driving around with all the slides and stuff. I will be saying stop raining prayers for you. Wow 22 days thats a long time for it to rain.

Stepped on the scale this morning and Im none too happy. Seems like I have stalled at 27 pounds down. Not gonna let it get to me though and undo all the good I have done. I havent been able to exercise much because of my back and leg so I guess thats what has me stalled. Maybe the new patch will give me the relief I need to get in some walking. Gonna take a recommendation that Lily gave me awhile back and start drinking more water too. Ive been kinda bad with that also.

Well I guess I better get the rest of my crew up...minus the little man...he doesnt get up till later.

I will checkin tonight.

HUGS TO ALL!! :grouphug:

Morning all! Early riser here... but need to hop in the shower soon for the day. We had a storm blow through last night that woke me up. I had just fallen back asleep when Cleo sneezed loudly and scared the living daylights out of me. So I've been up because of a cat sneeze for a while :p

Suzanne, I don't always spend much time in the sun, but when you don't see it, it gets so dang depressing. I love a beautiful blue sky... I'm convinced it has turned gray for good :( I admit I don't worry about the leather look near as much as you though. Then again my sister's idea of a tan is about what I am naturally :p

Bethie, I hope to see you play more! We do miss you around here!

Good luck with the diet Karen. I stalled a lot too. Sometimes I would just take a weekend off from the diet and then that would seem to jump start weight loss again once I went back. Actually I think Christmas/NY did that to me. I stepped on the scale and I was shocked to see how much I lost. I'm not even really trying to lose at this point. BUt I think the body gets so used to dieting that if you don't "take a break" you wind up stalling now and then. Of course the willpower to get back to eating right is always the toughest part of that ;)

I'm off for the morning! I hope y'all have a great day!
