I sure wouldn't want to be without power for 2 weeks!
We would have to find a motel...or move in with Christin :rotfl:

Aww...I forgot something from the party the other night. (how could I forget...the woman I was talking to about had her jaw on the floor) ;)
The transgender co-worker was there. She showed up with her transgender girlfriend....but the real funny part ;) is they were wearing matching dresses  They really do need "girlie" lessons ;)
Shannon is using her buy-out money for her operation...and her girlfriend's too.
Back to your regularly scheduled DISing :)

Whoops... I forgot I had my knitting group tonight... my bad

I need to go to bed since we stayed out later than thought chatting away. Luis needs some hugs and stuff.

I'll see y'all tomorrow!

Evening folks! Good Monday, here, Dave got a Christmas bonus and I got a pat on the back for a good idea at the store! Our store ended up #1 for last week in average dollar sales and also for highestpercentage over forecast. We done REAL good last week!! Got a ride to bell rehearsal tonight and it was so good to ring again. Doing a special bell peal at all the services on Christmas eve and we practiced in the sanctuary. It sounded awesome and I can't wait to see it--we are going to tie gold and white satin ribbon streamers to the handles of each bell. The ringer makes a big circle with the bell when it is rung and it will look sooooo cool with the streamers!

So sorry to hear about the falls in the Ya Ya family! Hope your MIL recovers quickly, Suzanne! And Alan, please let Rebecca get that ankle healed completely before you two start playing kick the can again!! Prayers and PD headed out for both.

Not much energy left here--it's been a long day. The best part is that I am finally seeing some improvement in my knee and feeling it, too. Ran out of pain pills and have been able to make it thru the entire day just fine. Can't wait to see the doc on Wednesday, to find out if the MRI found anything. We've decided to skip the Christmas decorating and just concentrate on moving. Hopefully, my knee will be healed enough to get some packing done and then I think Dave's bonus will be hiring us some movers. We really want to be in the new place before the first of the year. At least we got our Christmas cards out today!

So, ya'll have a great evening and a good night. I'm sleeping in tomorrow and working late. Nighty-night!!

Evening, all. Waiting for Ed to get home. Mom's got facial surgery in her future, broke a bone in her face. They were adopting a wait and see, but she blew her nose this afternoon and air got into her eye socket, making her eyelid stay closed. :earseek:

Took the kids for a few errands this evening. Bought the last two chairs for the dining room set, since we're planning on 8 for dinner. However, if that surgery is on Thursday, I think it'll only be six of us. Oh well, we do need the chairs.

Some pictures to share, since I uploaded them to have costco print them out.

I'm a bad mom, I made him cry because I took this picture.

Elaine, OOOOPS!

Nancy, sounds like they've got a good idea for their bonus. If it makes them happy, they should go for it.

Bethie, glad the knee is on the mend. Ooooh, I miss hearing the handbell choirs in the sanctuary when my choir performed.

Alan, Tell Pilot he's not cleared for takeoff!

Lily, kudos to you, 20 miles on the TM. I suppose I am heading over to cheer you on!

Sooo, the plot thickens on my present. Apparently, FedEx was here. Rang the doorbell that was never hooked up, didn't bother knocking. I call them and arrange delivery for tomorrow. Consult with Ed and find that whatever he purchased for me, I will KNOW what it is from where it came from, so I had to call back and tell them that he would come pick it up! Then, out of the blue tonight, Neil says we should buy Grandpa Bill an Ipod. Methinks he was there when Ed ordered it, lol!

Psst, anyone who's a Costco member-you can upload your digital images and send an order to be printed out at the warehouse location of your choice. I uploaded the christmas card picture and it will be ready when I get out of work tomorrow!

Should hit the hay. Got a 6am day tomorrow!.

Suzanne

Morning all! Wanted to get some biking in before I sat down and replied... biking didn't go as well as I hoped for, but at least got some time on it.

It's nice and chilly out... finally warmed up a little to get us to a nice 3° out ;) I am supposed to go shopping with a friend today so we'll see how we both feel on that one.

Lily, you know dang well we will be cheering you on for the marathon when it finally comes. I am sure you'll do just fine though!
I think Luis would've rather had your dinner though. He isn't a huge stew fan. Not that I really cared. he doesn't like anything like that and honestly, I never understand why. But oh well, he'll only have to have it one more time this week and I doubt I'll make it anytime soon.

Suzanne, how is your MIL doing now? That sounds a bit scary with the blowing the nose though. Hope the surgery won't be to rough on her. I loved the pictures you took though.

Tara, glad to hear the doc went okay. How was bowling?

Nancy, I can't believe the cookies are lost! I have never heard someone have so much trouble with things like that. Pity too, I bet they were really good! I wonder if they have food sniffing dogs though at your PO
As for your co-worker & friend :rotfl:
Yes you do need to give them a couple of pointers :p

Oh, I might have forgotten to say, I guess the pre-sale was very short. I called the college and I can order tickets starting Jan 11th. So I will just call back on that date and get them. Luis said that it was a cheap concert so why not :)

Bethie, yay for the good news with the store! I do hope that your doc appt goes well on Weds. I vote for hiring a mover too! You don't need to be doing that with a bum knee!

I think I've caught up now. I might hop in the shower and then give Raquel a call to see when she wants to go. Though the store doesn't open until 10 am, so we can go at any point today :)

:teeth: Good one!

Actually, Pilot is in a holding pattern. If Rebecca isn't holding her, she eats everything. ;)

good morning gang,

the kids are on the computer so I'm pretending to look buys on my computer!! heheh I need one of those protection screens so people can't see what I'm doing!

Ketchup:
Suzanne...good luck with MIL surgery...that's really scary. Oh and I have many a picture like that of Jarrod...we call them "brat" pictures. I have them from our St. Louis trip and our WDW trip. He hates them but it usually straightens him up when I threaten to take a "brat" picture!!

Lily...thanks for clearing up the TM thing. I guess I should have known what that was since you are readying yourself for the marathon. Good luck and I know you can do the whole thing in the given time!!

Elaine....how was the knitting class last night?? Bowling was good. My team won two games, lost one game and lost total pins by 3 :( . But I had over my average for the night so I was happy!!

Nancy...I think the postal workers have figured out what you send and they like to keep them for themselves!! Maybe you need to take one batch in for them and ask them to please make sure the rest arrive on time!

Karen...congrats on the weight loss. I know you are excited about that. We may be doing Golden Corral on Christmas day as well. My db, dsil, and dn will be in Ky and Ohio, Jarrod is leaving in the afternoon to go pick up his dad from Richmond, so it will be just mom and E and I. So we are going out. Now I have to find some place that will be open!! If I end up there I'll think about you!! :teeth:

I went to bed around midnight last night after fighting with my iPhoto so I was really looking forward to an uninterrupted sleep. So much for that plan. At 4 I woke up to hear the cutest little voice talking and singing. Ethan apparently couldn't sleep and through the monitor I could hear him in there talking and singing and playing. He never cried or fussed, he just talked for a bit and then went back to sleep. It really was the sweetest sound!!

Jarrod has his performance tonight. I found a long sleeve white button down for him on Saturday and mom is going to iron it today. I have the battery for the camcorder charged, I have a tape in it. I have a disk in it so I can take pictures with it. So I think we are good for this thing tonight. The camcorder I have only takes 1 megapixel pictures so they aren't great but at least I can get some pictures without fighting with the flash or shaky movement on my part!

Gonna lose my lunch to a dr. appt today for myself. So I won't be able to play during lunch time today :(

tara

I just got our ressies for Christmas dinner. I didn't think they would have any openings but they did so we are eating at a restaurant over looking the Chesapeak Bay!! We used to eat Thanksgiving dinner there but then they quit doing it (well, that's what my mom says...I think it was because everyone was tired of eating at the same place each year)

Alan... :rotfl: for PIlot!!

Good morning.

I DID give my postal workers cookies ;)
I guess the Richmond, CA postal workers wanted their share....as they sat there for 4 days.....they have made it to Geoff now  Not sure if they are any good to eat anymore though.

Sorry to hear about your MIL Suzanne. Hope the surgery goes well.
My uncle is going to be in the hospital for Christmas :( They are sad about that. My aunt will be all alone.....maybe one of her siblings will come over.

Good luck at the doctor's Beth. Glad to hear that knee is getting better.

I need to get going this morning and get out to get that last DVD, drop it at the PO, before the crowds get too huge. I hate the thought of going to Wal-Mart :(
Then last day of cookie making for a couple of weeks :teeth:

I HATE confetti in Christmas cards..... :rolleyes1

Kimmie, glad ya like the ham pix.... :teeth:

Sheesh, only 5 days until Christmas and I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN A TREE.... :confused3

:p Okay....I'll take you off my card list :rotfl:

Off to make cookies now......got the errands down in less than 2 hours :bounce:

Wanted to pop in real quick and say hi. I got some kind of stomach bug Sunday night and stayed in bed all day yesterday, and most of today, so far. Really kicked my butt. I soo don't have time to be sick right now. I have so much to do before Christmas. :earseek:

 and mad love to all!

I thought that meant you added EXTRA confetti to her cards!! :teeth:

Back from the dr. Had a Hardees hamburger for lunch. It was good but it was a wee bit dry.

Off to act like a teacher

tara

Sherry, I hope you get to feeling better. My brother had that last week and felt crappy for about 4 days!

tara

Hi all, back from shopping with my friend! It was nice, but please no one tell Luis how much I spent

Alan, need any replacement crayons yet? :)

Tara, how did the doc appt go? And oops, I don't have a class I go to. Just a bunch of people get together to knit. More of a social group than anything. Sometimes people just sit and talk and not work on anything too.

Nancy, glad they fnally got there. I guess those CA folk were hungry ;) How did shopping go? I take it, that things weren't terrible for you! Fortunately where I went today, wasn't busy with people. Cute old town shops I went to, so no real crowds.

I admit, I love confetti... I hope a few others do too ;)

Yuck, Sherry... sorry about being sick. I do hope you get everything done in time for Christmas!

I went to Wal-mart  Always busy  ...but I got there about 8, so not too bad. Grabbed the DVDs I needed and that was it.
Went in the express lane.....even though the lady in front of me had about 30 items instead of 20 :(
Wrapped it in the car, shoved it in a box.
Went to Penney's about 8:45....but the little one that doesn't have anything, so not many people there. ;) Had to use my $10 coupon before it expired :teeth: It was hard finding something to use it on. I usually use those on jewelry, but they hardly had anything left, so I got a really nice fleece throw. A big one.
Dropped the package off at the post office and came home. Was back by 10:15.
Baked 3 batches of cookies....about 10-12 dozen....so I am done for the year.
I now need to go work on Dave's costume.
I need to comb the beard....and freshen the costume up.
He was going to do that tonight....but the closet door fell apart  So I have that chore for him ;) I would rather do the suit.

Sherry....sorry you are sick. Hope it goes away soon!!

:rotfl: I don't care if people like the confetti or not, they get it :teeth: You just need to remember to open carefully.....and not sneeze ;)

I'm still finding confetti in my kitchen. I think it falls out each time Sue moves the Christmas cards around.

Hey All,

Just got home. Its been a weird day. This morning I got to work and picked up the envelope from the floor with our paychecks in it....the company slides them under the door in the early morning.....and put them on my bosses desk. Well we waited all day to get our checks and nothing. Finally my coworker asked him as he was walking out the door if we were going to get paid today. His answer.....I sure hope so my wife has the checks. Ummmmm his wife wasnt in the office today at all!! WTH is up with him fibbing like that to us when he knows I know the checks are there??? Im praying that they are holding them until tomorrow so maybe they can give us a bonus check and he wants his wife there. I know I know pipe dreams. After work I went and picked up Mom and Dad's urns from the memorial gardens. The priest was very nice and said he was sorry it didnt work out for us. He also said as soon as they get another piece of marble to cover the niche they will give us the face plate that is engraved. Not sure what I will do with it but we will have it. Dh put the urns up on the recessed shelf and it really looks like it was made for the urns. They fit perfectly there and there is just enough room to put a picture of them inbetween the urns.

Suzanne I am so sorry to hear about your MILs surgery. That must have been so scary for her when that happened. How long will they have to keep her in the hospital after the surgery? She is in my prayers.

Elaine Im glad you were able to get the shopping done that you wanted to. I promise I wont tell Luis how much you spent ROFL!!

Nancy Im glad errands went so well this morning and that Geoff finally got his package of cookies. I do hope they are still good. I take it Dh dresses up as Santa every year? I was :rotfl: at the description of your dh's coworker and her SO. So they are both going to be girls?? I love the confetti. I look forward to your cards and am very careful opening them every year LOL!!

Tara that resturant sounds wonderful. Your description of E over the monitor this morning just made me smile. What a wonderfully sweet thing to hear in the morning.....even if it is 4 AM. Glad the doc appt went okay. Sorry lunch was not good.

Sherry Im so sorry you arent feeling well. Pixie dust and prayers that you are feeling better very soon.

Alan too funny about Pilot. Sounds like my dog. His name is Angie but we have nicknamed him Hoover. How is Mrs. AA feeling today?

Beth glad to hear the knee is getting better. I second getting a moving company. You dont need to mess up your knee any worse trying to move yourself. I will say prayers that everything goes well at the doctors appointment. Congrats on things going so well at the store.

 Lily!! How are you doing today?

Well Im gonna go help dh get dinner ready. I will checkin laters.

HUGS TO ALL!! :grouphug:
