Suzanne...you'll have to get the list from Todd. Now if you want the kids to do it on their how I am not sure that happens 100%, I know Todd spends the time with them. I just can't find the time to do all that with him, that is one thing I love about him. The girls are his world. When they are home he gives them a lot of his time, minus football Sundays;)

Tara...get yourself home and better so you can enjoy the holidays.

You're a cool teacher, Miss Tara. It sounds like fun today.
Although it doesn't sound quite as fun for you; I hope you feel better soon.

Todd created a 'game' to keep them from just sitting around. He made a list of activities, fun and work....Great way to get the girls to do their chores;) Right now they are playing the game of Life. Yesterday I know they had to fill the bird feeders, dust, do a load of laundry, play some games...even eating is on the list:laughing:
Great idea!
They roll a 20 sided dice and do whatever number it lands on...
Geek ;)

Alan, you're one to talk. We still haven't seen pictures of the Candy Man! :rotfl2:
Come to think of it, I haven't either. :) But I wasn't the one asking for pics :snooty: so there ;)

It's me again :teeth:

There are a few Christmas light displays that we go to each year at least once during the season.

The zoo

One particular house that has every plastic, inflatable, or otherwise Christmas-themed object imaginable set up in his yard.

One or two other homes and neighborhoods that are a bit more sylish than that ;)

And finally, the drive through light display at Southern Homes and Gardens.
For $5 per car, you drive through various light displays with all money going to the Salvation Army (and a place to donate canned food to the Montgomery food bank)

It's become tradition and we enjoy it. So when I decided to double check on the hours of it this year, I was shocked to find a new story that it would not be in operation.

Apparently when the organizers began to set everything up, they discovered that the lights (in storage) had been stolen.

This was apparently done just to take the copper wiring from inside of them. :sad2:

Amanda, I admit I think the non-congrats thing is weird too. I was only told that a year or so ago. I just find it amusing when I remember it after hearing about an engagement.

Tara, sorry you aren't feeling well. I admit, pizza, soda and chips sounds great to me. If you have any left over from the party feel free to share it :teeth:
Oh I am sure you have some rare incurable disease or something like that too ;)

Suzanne, taffy is perfect. As much as it is bad for my back to sleep with someone on my chest, it actually calms me more. However, we're still trying desperately to get him in his own bed on his side at least.

Alan, that is a shame they stole the lights. Copper is super expensive though right now so I am not shocked (sadly)

I did take one pic today... but honestly I was busy doing laundry. Sorry, maybe more later on.

Evening hasn't been too bad. I had hoped to get to the Festival of Lights at the zoo but it didn't happen, Cassie's cheerleading Christmas party went a little later than expected...and I was too tired.

Got the last Gift Certificate for Christmas. Feels good to be 100% done shopping for gifts. Have a little more to wrap, which I will do tomorrow. I need to bake cookies tomorrow also since we have a couple places to take desserts to tomorrow night.

Elaine...sorry you are still having difficulty getting him to sleep. Cassie was worse than Mandy, but both girls were overall great sleepers. By 3 months they slept through the night:banana:

Waiting for the last batch of chocolate chip cookies to bake. Cassie is becoming quite the kitchen helper.

Got a few more gift cards and stocking stuffers bought. Will finish everything up with Junior tomorrow. The boys are staying home and playing games. :teeth:

Tara, sounds like a fun day at school. Sorry your not feeling well, though.

Elaine, hope your able to get Dom sleeping better soon.

Alan, how sad about the lights. :( I love looking at lights.

Amanda, sounds like a great "game" that Todd came up with. :) Save some cookies for me. :teeth:

Gonna watch Jingle All The Way. I  that movie. :teeth:

Morning all!

Amanda, I keep hoping that he'll sleep through the night. He did sleep for 5.5 hours though, but I was awake for some of it so I didn't get to use all that. And it was me holding him, not his bed.
I hope your baking went well! I would love chocolate chip cookies. I would have made some yesterday if I had fresh eggs, but the last time I was at teh store, htey were out of the brand I buy.

Sherry, never seen that movie. I admit I don't even know what it is about  I hope you have fun shopping today though

Morning all!...

...mornin'.....:surfweb:

...wow, that was a pretty long 'stretch'....

...I never thought that I'd say this but, I HATE SHOPPING!!!

Morning!

Getting ready to run to a few stores real quick before Junior wakes up. Then we'll have more places to run.

Elaine, yay for 5.5 hours of sleep. Jingle All The Way is an old movie, but I just love it. :teeth: They've been playing it on TBS.

Kimmar, how can you hate shopping? :faint:

Sherry, I had to look up the movie and I do recognize it. I just didn't realize that was the name of the movie :teeth: That one is cute though!

Kimmar, I admit most of the time I don't like shopping myself  I usually go online for gifts ;)

I will be very happy with the amount he slept if we can more easily get him to sleep somewhere that is not on us :teeth: We did get about 2.5 hours in his swing (not swinging too) It's like musical chairs where he is happy... always changing

Back to baking this morning. Made Thank You bars (something new I haven't tried), sugar cookies and chocolate snowflakes (another new one). I have snickerdoodles and Gooey bars left....may also do some brownies, not sure yet. Head is starting to hurt so I think the Christmas music is going to be turned off:(

Elaine...I was very lucky my girls liked their bed. Although it made it difficult when we were at someone's house and they got tired.

I hope everyone's shopping is going well.....:)

morning all,

It's official I'm sick. Got home last night with a 102 temp and joints so sore I thought I was going to fall apart. Mom pulled up the 2007 flu information and I have all of the symptoms of it (didn't miss any of the them...including the ones that are typically for kids! lOL)

I still feel like crap...so i'm goign to cut this short! Thank goodness I don't have any thing too teribly dire!! heheheh

back later,
tar

Tara, so sorry your sick. Feel better soon.

Amanda, sorry about your head. :( All the stuff your baking sounds yummy.

Elaine, hopefully Dom will get in his own bed soon.

Going to be heading out in a bit. I only have a few gifts left, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Great idea!

Geek ;)

Howdy, boy, you'd think people were getting desperate for Christmas gifts! If you haven't got it yet, and we're out, I promise I am NOT holding it in the stockroom for somebody else! :lmao: I can't get more specific than that, but even my part timer noticed how rude people were being. Guess they don't like it that I am so chipper!

Todd, Thanks! That gives me a good start. You don't want to know how many gamecube games we have. I think I'll need a list with three days in a row off.

Ed hasn't called his mom's. He realized that they never call us, unless Jane's being rushed to the hospital. Sooooooo, he's decided to go on strike (gets 'tude if he doesn't call frequently enough for their liking AND when he goes over, Jane is crabby to boot). We've got a bet-he thinks they'll call around 8pm on christmas eve to find out what time we'll be over the next day. Meanwhile, I think they'll call on the 26th, furious that we didn't come over.

Sherry, want to get my last couple of things for me? I need an SD card for the Wii and a couple of stocking stuffers. Thank you! :teeth: I've never seen Jingle All the Way, but I've heard Conan make lots of jokes about it!

Amanda, what is in the Thank You bars? I'm nosey.

Elaine, ahhh, I remember that with Kevin. He'd love to fall asleep on me. Still does.

Kimmar, I'm with you-not much on shopping, either. All packed for you trip?

Tara, my sympathies on the Flu. I lost around 5 pounds from the stomach pain, though.

Alan, that's awful about the lights!

Kristy.

A funny for y'all. There's a christmas song we play in the store that drives me bonkers. The woman is atrociously flat. It's the Christmas Waltz by Anita O'Day. Anyway, I open one of my Christmas CDs last night to add to the ipod and that song is on it.

I play it (to see if it really is that bad when listening in a quiet house) and within 4 bars, Ed is asking what the caterwauling is! The joys of perfect pitch, lol.

Suzanne

Suzanne--if you can make the list 60 you can buy 3 sided dice along with the 20..There are all different types of dice you can buy at comic book world....

Would love to play D & D again...:guilty:

Morning all! We have church and then some family want to stop by today to say hi to Dom.

Amanda, what are Thank You bars? I'll google them but wanted to ask just in case I don't find or yours are different.
We are lucky that Dom will sleep in many places other than his bed, but right now we're just dying to go to sleep in our own bed. Right now we aren't in ours when we sleep. So we've been sleeping in shifts.

Tara  I am sorry you are so sick :( I hope you perk up as quickly as possible for Christmas at least.

Sherry, did you survive the malls? We had a friend stop by yesterday and he said it took them 30 minutes just to get out of the parking lot.

Todd, you ought to come here! My BIL & some of his friends play D&D on a regular basis still :teeth:
I can't remember the last time I personally played though.

Suzanne, I will be sure to totally avoid that song! Though I have to see if Amazon has a clip of it. I can't stand out of tune singing!
I don't blame you for treating your in-laws that way. We have a set similar to that here too :rolleyes1
Though being the good Catholics, they do call when they want to guilt as well ;)

I hope you all have a great day!

Elaine--It has probaly been at least 15 years since I played D & D...
My friend whose house we go over is married w/children & he has all the books & what not...Expensive habit...

Not sure when I will be on next...
Church today, then football games to watch, zoo & possibly SIL's gift exchange & tomorrow is christmas at Amandas dads, my parents and then I am going in to work...

If I don't see y'all Merry Christmas..

morning gang,

thanks for all the good thoughts. I would like to say that I"m better...ugh! this thing is kicking my butt. I was awake for maybe 4 hours yesterday. I'm up now...but not sure how long I will be up today. I think I may have to have someone else go do the end of my shopping for me. Astrid said she would go for me on monday.

let's see what i can remember....
people are cooking, going to church, seeing cute babies, playing games, and shopping.

Did I cover it all? I hope so.

I'm going to curl up for a little while. I hope to be back later.

Did I mention how much I hate being sick!

tara

Morning, all. As is typical, it's my day off and I've got a headache. Waiting for the excedrin to work.

Tara, I sooo relate to what you're saying. It always seems like a day off is spent sick. This year's flu is a bear, but at least you're able to get some sleep. Do your best to get lots of fluids and some food in to avoid the 2 week headache. If there's no food in your body, your body won't absorb the fluids. Learned that when I had the flu last month. Doctor said this is happening with everyone with it this year.

Todd, we're going to need the 20 sided die, since Ed has gotten Kevin tweaked about playing it. He always played with friends. I only played one time, but it's a good family activity, right? :teeth: I suspect the Uno theory will happen. (that's where you cream your spouse in the game and become a 'none' for a while :lmao: )

Elaine, you can find it here.

The sample is pretty bad, but when she gets into the duet portion with Billy May (who has a great Louis Armstrong like voice), it's when she really shows her forte. I knew you'd understand this one, oh wonderful woman of the choir :worship: Bethie probably would get it, too. :rotfl2: Oh, I begged to make a comment about it on the Christmas feedback form that we send in to corporate. It sounds like Dom loves Mommy and Daddy so very much that he has to know one of you is close.

My last customer of the day was priceless yesterday. It was so bad that I went in the back and dropped a few F bombs, which is an extremely rare utterance out of my mouth. I am so very happy that I am off until the 26th!

We're going to do something today, I'm not sure what. I'll be back later.

Suzanne
