Yay, Suzanne! I'm glad you tracked one down and nabbed the clever beastie before it could hide. ::yes::

Woo hoo Suzanne!!!! You'll have to tell us how you found one to buy :teeth:

Rescuing from page 3

Suzanne - Congrats on the Wii. I have been casually looking around for one in case one just happens to become available. I figure that sooner or later one will show up at our house.

I'm back, though not for long. Taco salad needs to be prepared, and then tree trimming later.

Here's the story. I had been watching Wii Tracker since last Thursday. Saturday night, I had one in my shopping cart on Fry's website, but was on the fence. Had another opportunity on Sunday. Both times, it was past 1am-those bad boys were out there for over an hour each. However, each time I talked myself out of buying, since we had the DS's.

Monday morning, Ed says "You know, we're not going to spend $250 'just because', so we should get it." NOW you tell me this?!?! The watch began in vain. We both had ones in our carts on Amazon yesterday, but both of us hadn't shopped on there in a while. The debit card on file had expired. In the time it took to update, they sold out.

Then, someone here on the DIS mentioned that she had gone to Game Stop for one, but ultimately got from Wal Mart. Hmmm, hadn't even thought of the little guys! We have FIVE of them within 20 minutes of the house! Yesterday morning, I called the one I figured would be the best option (furthest from the mall) and got the stock retail CYA line "We *may* be getting them today." (translation for those who have never worked retail: Inventory system says we're supposed to get this-but we're at the mercy of when UPS can get it to us, lol)

Ed hightailed it over to the store. None showed up, but the manager said to try back today. Today, Ed was number 4 in the door-only three in a box and they only were certain that they'd get one box. He waited. We had a zen approach that if it was meant to be, we'd get one. They got two boxes.

So, John, try the little shops. Everyone is going to the big box retailers. Wal Mart staff must put them out as soon as they process shipment, so that's a hit or miss. I'm psyched-I'll be bowling christmas morning.

Now, for some really fast ketchup since Ed's on his way back from cooking school:

Kim, hope that cold goes away quick-no fun flying when those ears are wonky.

Alan, apparently we've paid enough of a karma bill this year to be rewarded. :teeth: Wanna come over and play?

Rosemary, I'm with you, if it works, keep going to the chiro. As with anything, there are good ones and bad ones. Glad you've found something that works!

Elaine, felt good to get some sleep, I'm sure!

Sherry, hope the germies don't find their way to you.

Pam, shall we all go cheetoh NBC for you? I'm sure the bride to be isn't going to care if that was her present that was back ordered, she must be on cloud nine. (not using that smiley, you can't make me, it gives me the heebee jeebies now!)

Tara, Bummer that TJ's leaving you. Perhaps you should send him a note every now and then when you think about him.

Paula, I went by port to get a picture today, but only Royal Carribean was there when I got out of work. Not working Sunday, so you'll have to wait until next week to see good pictures. The ones I took had the sun behind the ship, so you can't even tell it's the ship! :rotfl:

Amanda, it sounds like you're telling me what life post Wii will be in that nothing but fun went on at home today!

Gotta go make din din!

suzanne

...just got back from the Dr.'s...I have an upper respiratory infection that is affecting my ears, so now I'm on Cipro and Singulair.....

Pam, congratulations, that is wonderful news!! Sorry about the backorders.

Kimmar, sorry about the infection. Hope the meds kick in quick.

Suzanne, :yay: for the Wii. You are going to have so much fun!!!

Paula, hope shopping went well.

Amanda, good luck to Mandy tonight.

Elaine, I can't believe Christmas is almost here either.

Tomorrow is the boy's last day....:woohoo: No more getting up early and having to drive them to school.

Rose Mary, hope the chiro visit went well and you got some shopping done.

 Alan!!

 John!!

Suzanne, nice way of finding your Wii! I remember last year trying to find a DS, I was watching the online inventory of all the local Targets (I had $100 in g/c to use there). I would check first thing in the morning hours before the store would open and see if one would be getting them. In the end, my local store showed them "available" so I got there about 10 minutes before the store opened and got the first one available. They only had 4

Kimmar, feel better soon!

Woo hoo for the last day of school!!!!! Enjoy being able to sleep in for a while :)

ketchup:
Congrats to Pam and her DD!! that's really cool!! Can't wait to see the roadkill pelt the mama of the bride wears to that wedding!!!

Why don't you say "congratulations" to a bride? Oh and where are the pictures of Dom...he's 3 weeks old we need new pictures soon!!!

Kimmar....sorry you are sick just before vacation. hope you get to feeling better soon

suzanne...sorry for the TA screwing up by giving neil the game thing. oh and glad you got yourself a wii. We still don't have any type of game system in this house! lOL! I'm hoping to keep it that way for a while!

amanda...yes be glad you don't use your cert. there are plenty of days that i'm ready to hurt someone. thankgoodness common sense prevails and I haven't done it yet!!! a friend of mine says her goal is to return home from work without having made the evening news!!!

Paula...sorry you have to work the evening shift. good luck wrapping! i was wrapping tonight and it frustrated me so badly I let a terrible word escape my lips! LOL! Not a word you want your kids to drop at school! I hope they didn't hear me!

Sherry...yeah on extra money and the kids being out of school! Enjoy your boys being home.

RM...hope the chiro is a big help to you! Did you enjoy your half day off?

hello to John, Allen, Todd, Kristy.....getting tired and the brain is mush!

The field trip went better than I thought it would go. It was upper 40's with a nice breeze! I think I'm still trying to defrost! We were there for 6 hours with no inside place to hide.

the fun part for me was seeing the quiet kids get out and giggle and run around and look like perfectly normal rockwell kids!! hehehehe I saw a different side to a couple of them. it was nice.

After all the smaller team building activites we got to do the high things....the one I did was called the "swingshot". Several of the kids did this one too....we had harnesses on our waists and then we were attached to a rope that the kids then pulled the rope until we were as high as we wanted to be. When we were ready we would pull the rip cord and be released like a slingshot and then swing for a bit.

I went to the top which was about 40 feet off the ground. It was the most amazing thing!! I got down and wanted to do it again! Now i'm ready to try bungee jumping!! woohoo!!! the falling was so exhilirating!! (I know I spelled that wrong! lOL!)

Other than being cold all day I had a good time. We are going to try to go again in the spring when it is warmer and do more of the high stuff! They have a cat walk 25 feet up in the air and then you jump off of it and they lower you down!! oh that just seems too cool and I don't like heights!! hehehe At least you are thethered really well!!

okay, i'm heading to bed. I'm exhuasted!!

good night!

tara

Tara, technically one shouldn't say congratulations to a woman getting married because it sounds like she finally "caught someone" who might be "willing to marry you". At least that is what I have been told :confused3 I always laugh at it, and just have fun with saying what I did :p

Sounds like an awesome field trip actually

and yes, we need more pics. I'll work on that

Hi all....

Pam CONGRATS!!!!!

Suzanne CONGRATS!! I want a Wii now but we already have the PS2 and Xbox360.

I'm sending pixie dust to all the sickies.

Howdies to Paula, Elaine, Alan, Todd, etc ;)

I made meatloaf for dinner, got two more batches of bark made and made a very cute "coupon" book for my mom. I'm going old school on her gifts this year. She gets a coupon for each month with an activity listed. January is an afternoon of shopping, February is a movie of her choice, March is lunch at Chili's, April is a free computer lesson..and the list goes on. I just need to bind them all together.

Morning!

Had to make a Walgreens run this morning. Jordan & Jonathan just told me yesterday about snacks and a $1 gift that they needed for school today. :rolleyes1

So glad that today is the last day of school.

Kristy, the coupon book sounds sooo cute. :) Get the Wii, its more fun than PS2 & 360. ;)

Elaine, yes, more pics of Dom.

Tara, sounds like a cool field trip. Glad you enjoyed it.

Did everyone get a Christmas present?

Dom let mommy and daddy sleep for 6 straight hours?
Sherry's boys are still in bed?
Amanda's got the morning off?

And everyone else isn't up yet?

I got three hours sleep and will be running today. Alas, no opportunity to go back to bed. Anyone up for getting a nap in for me?

Tara, I've always heard you tell a bride "Best Wishes" or ask her to wear her ring in good health. Oh, the horse is out of the barn on the game systems. Once Kevin picked up on them, it only got worse.

Kimmar, I can verify that Cippro does a great job on an upper respiratory infecction. Hope it does a lot in a short amount of time.

Lainey, the DIS to the rescue once again! I suppose I've got to wrap that thing soon-kids have a half day today.

Sherry, I suspect you're right. This will be the system that proves the "mom doesn't play games" comment wrong. I've got a date to bowl with Ed on tuesday morning. Somehow, I don't think that will happen until the kids go to bed that night, thoug!

Amanda, so did the family spend the day having fun? :rotfl: :teeth:

In search of some coffee...

Suzanne

Sherry sneated, well, now we know where you were!

Kristy, I agree, that coupon book sounds adorable!

Suzanne

Good Morning! I really don't want to be working today. But, Mon. will be even worse I'm sure. Going to do Christmas w/my family this weekend. :woohoo: Chiro did a great job and I only need to pick up 3 more gift cards and hopefully I am done. :woohoo:
Suzanne: yeah for the WII. I want one but, DS is more interested in a PS3 for some darn reason.
Elaine: yep more pics please. ;)
Congrats Pam and Best Wishes to your DD and her fiance.
Kimmar - hope the meds kick in quick! Have fun on vaca.
Paula - a light dusting of snow does sound pretty. We have wacko weather here.
Sherry - Don't you just love those last minute mad dashes to the store - NOT! DS does the same thing to me.
Kristy - How was your meatloaf? The coupon thing sounds like a really neat idea.
:wave2: All! Gotta get busy! Later..............

the one I did was called the "swingshot". Several of the kids did this one too....we had harnesses on our waists and then we were attached to a rope that the kids then pulled the rope until we were as high as we wanted to be. When we were ready we would pull the rip cord and be released like a slingshot and then swing for a bit.

You ask someone else for pics and you don't supply one of you doing that? Oh come on!!! :rotfl:

I hope you feel better, Kimmar

Just a quick good morning as I work on some stuff crossing my desk.

Dom let mommy and daddy sleep for 6 straight hours?
With a 3 week old??? Yeah right :rotfl:

Busy morning here. Trying to get some things done and my free time I allowed myself was just taken up by my dad calling

I'll try for more pics, but not sure when we'll get to it all

Hi all...

Worked this morning and now I am off since I worked extra hours yesterday. Love Flex time. Computer was not nice to me this morning:(

Suzanne...congrats on the Wii. Your home will never be the same.

Pam...congrats to your daughter.

Elaine...that sounds weird on the congrats thing. :confused3 I look at is as congrats on finding someone who loves you enough to spend the rest of their life with you;) Not everyone receives that opportunity.

Todd and the girls are spending a lot of time together. Todd created a 'game' to keep them from just sitting around. He made a list of activities, fun and work. The roll a 20 sided dice and do whatever number it lands on. Great way to get the girls to do their chores;) Right now they are playing the game of Life. Yesterday I know they had to fill the bird feeders, dust, do a load of laundry, play some games...even eating is on the list:laughing:

Ok...need to defrag my computer and get ready to go out for a bit.

Have a great day everyone.

good morning,

I am still not warmed up from yesterday!! LOL! I was cold all night long! The fact that I woke up with a 300 lb. person sitting on my chest! I sound like I'm losing my voice too!

And I don't have the pictures from yesterday...there is only one of me swinging, not sure how good it is...it was mid swing. I'll get it when the lady comes back from Christmas vacation.

My tummy muscles are sore from the swing. I think I must have had them tucked really tightly!!! LOL!

The morning is going well...I gave them a choice of three movies "The Polar Express", "The Apple Dumpling Gang", or "Snowed in at the House of Mouse". FIgured I had to take them at least one mickey movie or they would be sadly disappointed! LOL! They ended up choosing the Mickey movie! hehehehe

This afternoon we are having pizza, soda, and chips...I'll get the good and wired and sedn them home! hehehehe Sounds like a good day to me!

I'll be back later!!

tara

Howdy do. Mission accomplished, we have Super Mario and the Complete Lego Star Wars. We almost bough the new Zelda, but I already have that wrapped as Kevin's DS game, so we decided to wait. It will be Neil's b'day present, unless he decides to use Mema's Christmas gift to purchase it.

Amanda, I want to see that list of activities! I've been tired of the 'I'm bored' that happens when one child doesn't have a video/computer game of some sort in front of him. Of course, I suck at this mom thing-I complain about it but bought them games for Christmas! Do you have any time off next week besides Christmas?

Tara, boo on the sore muscles and 300 pound person on your chest. I love Max's song in that movie. Cool. Sounds like your students have good taste! :thumbsup2

Elaine, I was being facetious. :lmao: Do you feel like a piece of taffy-pulled in all different directions?!

Alan, you're one to talk. We still haven't seen pictures of the Candy Man! :rotfl2:

Oh it's official-I got the strong hint that I must buy Guitar Hero for Ed's birthday. Guess it's a good thing the present will say to the whole family, right? :dance3:

Gotta go pick up Neil for his psych appointment. Ed's over at Kevin's school. His amazing principal is retiring. He deserves to enjoy his free time, because he was incredible with both my kids and all of his students. Crossing my fingers that the AP finishes out the year. They brought her in the middle of last year when he was supposed to retire in May, because she's one of the most experienced APs.

Suzanne

Dis drs. what does it mean when all you want to do is go to sleep (falling asleep at your desk), an upset tummy, and you are freezing? :lmao: You think I mightbe getting sick? :lmao:
I'm sitting at my desk while the kids watch the Polar Express and I've got on my turtle neck, my vest, my sweat shirt and i'm getting ready to put on my jacket! I need to hit TJ max on my way home from school today..not sure i'm going to make it!

just wanted to share...I'm sure if I posted out on the regular board taht I would get plenty of responses! hehehe I'd probably be told I had the bird flu and the plague all rolled into one!! hehehe

I'll talk to you all later! I'm going to put my head down until the kids leave! LOL!
