Good morning all! I went to bed at around 11 and then got up at 4:30 to take over. We napped a little together so I feel like I got plenty of sleep. Luis is upstairs sleeping... we'll see how he does ;) He's not as good on little sleep as I am.

Sorry for y'all who are so cold. We just got above 20 so it isn't too bad for us today. I need to find gloves though... I am finally feeling cold again and I have no idea where I put them :p

Suzanne, I totally understand about not wanting the boys to think it just belongs to one of them. Is there an occasion that you could get one and give it to both (end of year, did well in school kind of thing)?
I think by the time we actually get around to really wanting a Wii, we'll have less trouble getting them ;)

Paula, sounds like you have been keeping yourself busy!

Todd & Amanda, we're lucky, we're all suburban neighborhoods so a lot easier to clear out. Though I admit our school district has always been one of the ones who doesn't close easily at all. We are literally 2nd to last to close with city of Columbus being the absolute last to close.

Amanda, have fun wrapping gifts!!!

I love the cooking game for the DS! I have that game nearly "finished' with all gold levels on everything.

Love the ornament Paula!

Luis just came down... he still looks sleepy poor thing.

No nephew. I am enjoying my quiet time before Winter Break starts. :) I should be cleaning, but instead, I finished my book and am now surfing the DIS. :teeth:

My boys aren't into the DS's much anymore. They are totally into Guitar Hero now.

Amanda, enjoy wrapping. Junior does all ours. I'm a horrible wrapper.

Paula, cute ornament. :)

Todd, cool that the radio station is giving away such cool stuff. Wish ours did. Although now that I have Sirius, I don't listen to the local stations anymore. :teeth:

Suzanne, your boys will love the Wii, if you do get to find one. It is sooo much fun.

Elaine, glad you got some sleep. I'm like Luis, I don't funtion well without at least 7 hours of sleep. :teeth: Hope you find your gloves. I need to get a new pair, since I bought a new coat. My old ones don't match my coat. :teeth:

Luis is officially off for the rest of the year. Guess who gets to sleep tonight? :teeth:

That was getting to have extra sleep?? ;) Sounds like you are doing fine though :)

Paula, sounds like a good weekend. Except for all the snow and the working. Sorry about your tooth. Glad you found your tree.
My sentiments as well.

Sherry--local radio station is giving away X-boxes, PS3's, games, DVD's, IPODS's, Digital cameras & PSP's...My friend won a XBOX, PSP and some games a year or 2 ago, I won 2 games last year and my friends sister won a digital camera this year. You have to listen for them to call your name and you have 10 minutes and 27 seconds to call in. Not the best radio station but some good prizes and the prizes carry over if someone doesn't call in. We usually tag team & listen for each others names.

Sounds like you've done pretty well with that.

I enjoyed National Treasure and hope the sequel is a good one, though I'll likely wait for it to come out on DVD.

We had a good time watching "Alvin and the Chipmunks" though; it was a better movie than I thought it would be - very cute actually. Of course we were listening to a Chipmunks Christmas CD in the van yesterday too.

Lela had a piano recital last night where all of the students (only 6 fortunately ;) ) played Christmas pieces. We knew all of the other families so it was a nice Christmas activity.

Then we drove past a few more houses that are on our "must see" light display list.

It was a good afternoon/evening.

It sounds like a lot of stressful chaos at home this morning, but I'm at work :rolleyes1

Now Ed tells me if we get one, he wants to give everything and make it the unforgettable legendary Christmas that they'll tell their kids about. :lmao: Here I was going to be the practical one and have their birthday presents months ahead of time!

I forgot that the game comes for the DS, too.

Tracker keeps coming up with bundles. We're both constantly refreshing!

Suzanne

Why do I get the feeling you slept a lot during the early years of the kids lives Alan? Really though, I function fine on 5 hours or so. Under 4 makes it rough on me, but doable for a day or so.

Suzanne, good luck finding a Wii then :teeth: I do think that would be an awesome gift to get the kids though. I know I'd remember it!

morning gang,

I would say good but i'm not feeling the good. We had a meeting this morning and TJ is moving. He says he is okay with it but he doesn't really look like it. He is putting on a brave face but his caseworker told me that he was in tears today.

His dad was telling us about his mom's abandomenment and how the poor boy feels like every woman in his life has left him (mom, sisters, grandma)...now we can't do anything for him :sad1: His last day will be friday.

But I made the teacher specialist for my school and the new school promise to tell them to take good care of him and make sure that they understand his issues...I don't want them to toss him out and abandon him when he gets there because they don't want to have to deal with his moods.

So needless to say i'm in a crappy mood now. I just love how we can screw these children over and then blame the kids when they can't handle the changes. arg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway, happy day to everyone. I have cub scout christmas party tonight and then need to wrap presents. Not sure i'll be on later tonight.

see ya'll soon!

Tara

The grand experiment failed. We were adamant with Neil's school that his OCD hot buttons are computers and video games. Keep the kid away from them, because once he's got it, he's like a crack addict and will freak out when you take away.

Well, this one aide got it in her head that she would reward the kid with Chronicles of Narnia for the Gameboy Advance. She rewarded good behavior with the strategy guide (he reads these and instruction manuals over and over and over...). Then, she got her hands on a copy of the game.

He has been an absolute monster since the day the game came into the room. Monster doesn't even describe it. His daily progress reports have come back : 11, 8, -112 (minus?), 17. The rule here is it's got to be 85 or higher to earn games at home. He even got ISS one afternoon.

Today, he flipped out on the teacher during his math mid term, which counts for 2/3 of the grade for the marking period. She called Ed and said "this has GOT to change" and he proceeded to say "You started it! Remember how adamant we were about NO VIDEO GAMES?" He kept going and going, and she finally admitted that yep, you did. He then stated that he can pinpoint the day the behavior got so hideous. The day the game was introduced to him.

To make amends, she said she'd allow him to finish the mid term during PE today. She knows that it his file has the narrative describing Neil's issues, what works and what doesn't. If she presses the issue, all we have to do is say "We TOLD you not to do this!" and what the aide did gets her in trouble.

I'm usually pro teacher and side with them, but this time, they goofed up royally.

...how pu-u-u-u-rty......:)

Tara, I am so sorry about your day :( I can't even imagine how you feel... the poor boy. I do hope that even with the move, all will be okay for him.

Suzanne, I am sorry about your day with Neil as well. I do hope that the moods will improve since he won't be playing games anymore.

Not much going on here. Ran errands and now have a cutie napping on me. In a short while I'll start supper for us :)

Oh I had the oddest dream last night. I dreamt I had 7 babies!!! It was horrible because I kept wishing them all away :p

Hi all.....another busy day - at work until 1pm - Dad took me to Wendy's to lunch then we went to Walmart.

Tara - good thoughts for your student - hope the adjustment isn't too hard on him.

Suzanne - score one for the parents with the video game issue - shame on teacher for not listening to you!!

Sherry - Alyssa bought her boyfriend guitar hero for Wii for Christmas - and I bought her Dance,Dance Revolution!

Todd - sounds like you've got some luck going there with radio stations.

Alan - glad the chipmunks passed muster with the AA Family!!

More shopping tomorrow am - still need to put up the Barbie tree.....funny thing - last week I was certain that Christmas was this week - this week I feel like I have an extra week ...... nothing wrapped yet.

Hiya peeps...

YAY on sleep for most, sorry about all the snow for others, really sorry about the little guy getting shuffled around at school, grr on the teacher's assistant NOT following orders...and hugs and love to everyone else.

My weekend was a blur and this work week hasn't been much better. Thankfully I'll be on Christmas break starting Friday and can "try" to hang out with you all more.

Gotta scoot off to bed now.

TTFN!

Morning!

Tara, good thoughts heading the little boys way. That's so sad. :(

Suzanne, boo on the teacher not listening to you.

Paula, Alyssa's boyfriend will love both games. DDR is alot of fun!! And my boys are addicted to GH. Sounds like you had a nice day out with your dad.

Kristy, hope the rest of your week goes well.

Alan, glad y'all enjoyed the movie. :)

Nephew is back today. And BIL said he'd be here Thursday & Friday. :confused3 SIL told me a couple weeks ago that his last day was today. Oh well, its extra money, I guess. :teeth:

Morning all!

Paula, I hope you find the time to get everything done. I totally know what you mean. I still feel like I have a lot of time until Christmas. Hard to believe it is so close :(

Kristy, I hope things get better for you

Sherry, sorry you have a few extra days with the nephew, but at least it is more money. Oh and just think a few more days and you'll be done with the boys going to school too :teeth:

Elaine--:duck:

Sherry--:thumbsup2 for the extra money...:headache: for the confusion on the days..Guitar Hero? I have the Wii version here in the closet..seen it, thought I would grab it for BIL...almost picked another one up yesterday to try & sell on ebay but didn't...

Kristy-sleep? whats that? Got home around 3:20 this morning and got up at 7:40..had to work late last night and get up early today...by choice of course..no napping..radio station giving away goodies...must listen for them to call my name, last persons name they called will win a X-box, PS3 and 2 or 3 games if they call within the time limit....

Paula--Good Luck shopping & wrapping!!

Suzanne--hope this works out..why can't people listen when you tell them something?:headache:

Tara--

Alan--told Amanda she could take girls to see Alvin & the Chipmunks & I will take them to National Treasure...seems like that will make everyone happy..:rolleyes1

So, stay warm, have fun, take care. Be back later..........

Alan--told Amanda she could take girls to see Alvin & the Chipmunks & I will take them to National Treasure...seems like that will make everyone happy..:rolleyes1

Patricularly the Movie Popcorn Association of America :)

Tara, it's obvious how much you care for your kids (ie: goons). You had my heart breaking for TJ; I hope he adjusts well.

Suzanne - grrr on problems that could have been avoided! I'm sorry that things have gotten turned upside down and hope it gets settled soon also.

Had to take Abigail to the doc yesterday (she's fine - just a viral thing) but I used the remained of the afternoon to get more shopping done.

Hope your day perks up, Rose Mary!

Elaine, I'm still trying to sleep through a lot of it ;)

Todd, you were able to get that Guitar Hero 3? I heard in our stores it is still hard to find. Of course the Wiis are as well. Hopefully next year sometime I can convince Luis to get one ;)

Rose Mary, sorry about the crappy start on the DIS with how you are feeling. I do hope you feel better soon.

Same to Abigail

Luis is still asleep... I hope he stays there for a while :)

hi gang,

Thanks for all the hugs. I need them! TJ is doing okay today...being a little pita but i'm not surprised...he has to find a way to make his leaving a little easier. Unfortunately for him I won't let it work! I will be keeping in touch with him to make sure he does well!

Not feeling well today...tummy not doing well...I think it is work stress and Chrismtas stress. I'd just like to be able to eat and not feel like I'm dying! hehehe But then again...I keep this up for a few more days I don't have to worry about gaining too much weight during the Christmas season!! hehehe

Hugs and waves to all!! I'll be back later when my tummy feels better and I feel like sitting up at the computer! The kids will be in here any minute and I think I need to find a video for them! LOL! When all else fails...stick in a video!

tara

Back for a bit.
Thanks for the well wishes. Not sure what's up but, I think it was the meds I was changed to for the bursitis in my hip. They were messing up my stomach (I'm sure stress of the season doesn't help either) SO, I got fed up with all the drs and no help and went back to the chiro. At least he was able to give me relief for the pain thru adjustments, even if only for a couple weeks at a time. I know there are believers and non believers and I was a little skeptical at first but, it worked for me and I would rather do that and the stretches than take meds anyway.
Guitar Hero :headache: My kid is driving me nuts trying to become the next Rock Star! or whatever! Thank goodness he was at a friends last night and I had some peace and quiet from it. :rolleyes1
Back to more work. Uck!
