After I gave y'all the DQ link, we never did go. There was a lot to do to get ready for the beach trip. Even after taking off at lunch, we were not able to leave on Thursday until 6:30PM.

But we did have a great time and my girls are in their first day of their new school today.

I'm waiting for the body shop to return my call so I can make sure it's okay to pick up my van. This rental car is due in today.

Yes Alan it is safe to come out from behind the couch!! I won't bite...right now anyway!!

I did a lot of work on my room but it has a long way to go before it will be ready for children!! I can't go back until next week (tomorrow with Colleen, Wednesday taking Colleen to the airport iin the middle of the day, thursday taking a friend to her obgyn appt to find out if she can have kids or not...hubby has to work or doesn't get paid, friday is the last chance to scrap before school starts. )

So monday of next week is looking like the best day yet to go in!

working on paying off some bills to see if my trip is possible....still not sure if it will happen, but I've got my fingers crossed. And I know that there will be a while before I can go back again (unless prince charming comes along and is rich!!)

Kids don't come back to school until Sept. 5th so our kids have a few more weeks of playing!!

Hi y'all! Just as I thought, I was very much MIA the last few days.

I'll get some cute pics of the Christening I went to on Sunday and a few other things, but I had to come in and say hi.

I went to Sandusky yesterday and then had knitting last night so I wasn't really home at all.

Today is a catch up day around the house, so I'll be in and out, but I will at least do a ketchup later

Had a really nice day but, an even better weekend.
Several of us from work rented a house ON the beach to celebrate a friend's upcoming wedding and my birthday. It was the best time!

He had a good day. Went to dinner and a movie with Grandma and my brother. His big party is on Saturday. Send : for good weather....they are predicting rain. Hopefully it will change by then.

Beth, we just cooked out the traditional old hot dogs and hamburgers. So glad to hear your niece did so well.

Alan, glad the girls enjoyed their first day at the new school. They start early. Mine start on the 24th.

Hi all

Just got back from my extremely hot walk. Sat down to take my shoes off and notice a big black widow spider sitting next to me. After freaking out for a moment I get the bug spray and spray it. It seems the spray did nothing to the spider. It is still sitting there. Will someone please come and squish it for me???? Where is my husband when I need him?

Jessica started school last week. So far she is liking everything. Just hope it stays that way.She is in all honors and AP classes this year.

*Whew* I've been fighting with Imagestation but I finally got a few beach pics loaded.

We had a great time but Gulf Shores is always in a state of change. The effects of Ivan are still present and the state park resort area is now closed.

There are always new condos being built. The one we stayed in just opened in July and was very nice.

But it was sad to drive past empty lots that held things I remember as a kid. The old little amusement park is gone but the asphalt from the go-cart track is still there. The hangout is gone which housed pinball machines and skee-ball. The video arcade that came after hurricane Frederick is gone also.

The miles of sand dunes have been flattened but sea oats are being planted in a restoration attempt.

But there were no jellyfish even though the Gulf is always filled with seaweed. Lela and Abigail both enjoyed going out into the water and being held while the waves came in. I had Abigail and Robby had Lela.

They also enjoyed looking for sand crabs at night. Rebecca bought them some flashlights and they had a great time. Lela would spot some but was convinced they were chasing her so would run away. Naturally, Abigail would grab and pick up the smaller ones.

It was a good weekend.

not gonna post much. Colleen was here for a bit and when she left Jack stoppd by for a visit. I've been trying to get rid of him for about 3 hours and he refuses to leave now

Colleen loved her BAB bunny. I meant to get a picture of her with it but forgot. Gotta have her take a pic and send it to me.

I'm picking her up to take her to the airport tomorrow at 1

Probably off until tomorrow so that I can make Jack leave. I'll stop back when I can!!

Anyone want some cookies? I've got about 10 dozen here, ready for tomorrow's ribbon cutting!

It was nice to have three days off to R&R, but I'm ready for work. The meet and greet went well-good part of being new to the chamber, you're expected to talk. I'm hoping that a bunch of those people show up for the ribbon cutting! We've got free food, lol!

I got my car back!!!! You'd think that I would have got a 15 page repair sheet, but it only lists 15 parts they replaced. I've got a new gas tank and a lot of new fuses.

Alan, no tatoos for you? Great pics of the vacation-that condo is very nice. Enjoy the new addition to the family. I'm sure everyone is that Abagail and Lela are back in school!

Sherry, how's the 16 year old? Bugging you for that license now? Shoes for 4 rapidly growing boys probably equals the GNP for Belgium!

Lainey, Mickey looks more like an orange cat that has faded by laying on the window sill too long.

He's more of a butterscotch and the vet called him "blond"

But yep, I said the same thing last night. He does look a lot like Bubba.

While they aren't necessarily playing together yet, Bubba does seem to have accepted him being in the house so I'll take the blessings that I can.

Speaking of which, I got my van back from the body shop!
So congrats Suzanne and eat a celebratory cookie for me too.

BTW, we will need to see pics of your colorless hair too, you know
