:rotfl2: OK, now that I've got that out of my system...........

It's been a rough week, getting ready for our big fall feature at the store. Day 1 is over and Day 2 is tomorrow. I just keep reminding myself--just because it's not my way, doesn't mean it's wrong.

Whoo hoo on the picnics!! Miss going to things like that.

Suzanne, hope the buggy gets fixed right, this time. What a PITA. Hope it's nothing really serious.

Welcome home, Judie!! Love the review.

Hope you haven't jinxed yourself, Tara, by mentioning injuries. sounds like you'll have no problem getting it all done by the time Colleen arrives. Try to get a nap or two in between now and then, it's obvious you don't plan to actually sleep at night. It's going to be gorgeous, I know!

New show on tonight, I believe it's based on Michael Crighton's book by the same name, "Timeline". So 'scuse me while I immerse myself in fantasy!
:grouphug:

Elaine ...glad you had a great time!!! sounds like they had all the food you needed! I say you should have ridden the pony! :teeth:

Beth...you're right just because they do it their way doesn't make it wrong....just makes them stupid for not doing it YOUR way!! :rotfl2: Enjoy your scifi show. i don't think i could even tell you what channel our scifi channel is on!!

working update....yippee :woohoo: yeah me! I did not hurt even one little finger nail!! wait....I did sand off a couple of finger nails slightly...but they weren't reallly THAT bad.... :( okay, so they are down to the nub...but that's okay I can live with no finger nails! :teeth:

I tried to put the cabinets up but they are still too tacky and are sticking to each other...gotta wait till tomorrow to put the doors back up. I got the knobs and the hinges back on....it was funny because one door I put the knob on the inside of the door!! :lmao: I showed it to jarrod and he immediately knew what I had done wrong!! I did change it by the way! :)

I then got the kids in bed and sanded down the otherside, vacuumed the floor and counters, and wiped down the cabinets. I am going to wait until tomorrow to prime and paint. I just couldn't finish it today! So tomorrow will go something like this:

first coat primer cabinets up stairs
first coat primer doors/drawers down stairs
second coat primer cabinets up stairs
second coat primer doors/drawers down stairs
first coat paint up
first coat paint down
second coat paint up
second coat down

fall on the ground and give up!!! :rotfl: I will get enough trips on the stairs tomorrow to make up for a stairmaster!!!

get ready...next up picture time!!

tara

Okay, everyone gather round and be ready to ooh and ahh!! :rotfl2:
First up the injured finger as it was healing:
eda769f0.jpg
this was 200% better than the day it happened!!

Next up the injured toe...
eda769a2.jpg
This was two or three days after it happened and you can see the purple is going up the side of the toe to the right of the injured one and down from the injured one!! :sad2:

This next one is of a really cute kid but look past the cute kid and see the cabinets in the background and the nasty floor. I couldn't find any good pictures that showed the cabinets!
eda76a3d.jpg

This is what those bottom cabinets look like now.
eda76918.jpg

This is the top cabinets as they look right now.
eda768eb.jpg

This is the otherside i'm working on now. They are all sanded and waiting for their primer.
eda76966.jpg

I'm not ready to sleep yet so I'm gonna show you some more...so if you are already bored...just skip ahead to the next post :teeth:

The funny looking thing in the corner is a lazy susan cabinet that took a lot of work to get apart....now the real question is can I figure out how to put it back together?? :rotfl:
eda76941.jpg

As you can tell from our open messy cabinets that we are not the kind ot have the open cabinets :rotfl:

Tools of the trade laying around and one door that is ready for the other side! And we did keep the children away from this cabinet today with all the household cleaners exposed!!! (makes it look like we actually clean occasionally!!)
eda768b6.jpg

The top of the cabinets are going to get a rod put up around the top to hold curtains to close off that space to make it look neater!!
eda7688b.jpg

Thus ends our picture show! Please leave your donations at the door for this wonderfully presented art show!! :lmao:

Quick hi before heading off to church.

Bethie, I hope everything goes well for you with work. I totally know having to say to yourself "because it isn't your way, doesn't mean it isn't right/okay/good"

Tara, I wasn't sure if they had weight limits or age limits on the ponies, but Luis wouldn't even let me look :p

Everything looks awesome to me! I am also shocked how good your kitchen looks while it is all torn up! That's something I'd never do well

Not sure what we have planned for after church (well after lunch) But no matter what, I hope everyone enjoys the day :)

Tara, the kitchen looks great. Its really coming along nicely. ::yes:: But, why in the world do you have a scale in the kitchen? :earseek: :faint: :lmao:

Elaine, sounds like a fun picnic. I would've rode the ponies. :)

Beth, Junior loves the sci-fi channel, too. :rolleyes1 Hope you enjoyed your new show. :)

We had fun last night. Good food, lots of laughs. A friend brought over some really ooooold pics so we had some big laughs over those. What were we thinking with the styles/hair back then? :lmao: The adults ended up getting in the pool later in the evening and we had a blast!! Then we went inside and did karaoke. :teeth:

Today is church, then afterwards, we are going to grab a quick bite, and we are going to use our free movie tix to go see Talladega Nights. :)

Tara: Nice Cabinets!! :thumbsup2

Hi all, greetings from Jacksonville!

I'm driving a Nissan Altima this weekend. Meh, but it was better than all the other choices. The person before me got the PT Cruiser.

Drive up was uneventful, we went a different way and avoided the WDW traffic.

Happy Birthday, Pam!

Hi Bethie! My assistant is on vacation this week, so I need to set up a cot in the back of the store! I know what your week will be like.

Judie, thanks for the info. My former CMs also raved about Blue Bayou, so I'm definitely trying to get in there. I'm glad, the original trip plans last year were when it was closed.

Karen, woohoo on furniture!

Tara, awesome job on that floor and the cabinets! No worries on the stuff in the cabinets-as long as nothing falls on you when you open a cabinet!

Sherry, don't you love those older child tooth fairy visits? I think both boys will get a visit this week. We've started calling Kevin "Fang" :rotfl:

Okay, gotta type Donna's resume out and email her the document. It's currently stored on her dinosaur PC that only has a hard drive.

TTFN.

Suzanne

hi gang!

I came by to post earlier, ended up starting a thread about what you don't put on cereal! and then got sidetracked.

Thanks for the nice comments on the cabinets and floors. i'm happy with them. As long as you cant tell that I need to sand down some of the paint drips and repaint a few spots we're doing well.

Sherry...not sure why the scale is in the kitchen...its just always been there! I'm thinking it needs to find a new home! It can't go in our upstairs bathroom because it is too small and no floor space. i might put it in our downstairs 1/2 bath....but then Ethan will be on it all the time...climbing to get into the sink!! hehehe

ended up taking a nap today, was feeling cold, like freezing, and it was 90 degrees outside. Wehn I woke up I was hot and now I'm getting a headache. Between my mom and me we have the priming all done. Now I need to get paint on them all!! I think I can I think I can ....

I'll be back later!!
tara

bump!

Cabinets are painted first coat.Waiting for the Pizza hut person to bring dinner!!

tara

Hi y'all... not terribly in a posting mood. Though I get to try to figure out what to give as a Christening gift for Sunday.

Sherry, I swear next time I will go on the ponies! Must have been fun to look at all those pics.

Suzanne, sorry you missed out on the PT Cruiser. I did hear though, from a friend, that they didn't care for them, so the Nissan might be a good thing ;)
I think Blue Bayou is definitely a must! We got there about 20-30 mins early I think to make sure we got a seat by the water. That was awesome! I am sure Bethie would agree with that :teeth:

Tara I hope you are feeling better by now. sounds like you need to take a rest.

Catch y'all later!

::yes:: ::yes:: Oh my, YES!!! It was absolutely awesome!! And I felt like I was right back there today, when we went to see POC2!! So cool how they worked that bayou part of the ride into the movie. LOVED the flick, btw!! And yes, we stayed to the very end of the credits! :teeth:

Sounds like everybody has had or is having a good weekend. I was off today, but had volunteered to be the manager at the store while the carpets were being cleaned after hours and all the employees were invited to bring a friend and we would have a private little scrapping party. So, I showed up right at 6, when the store closed, and one by one, the 3 folks who had worked today left, then nobody showed up to play. So, there I was, stuck at the store alone, with the carpet cleaners. We just won't tell corporate, since policy is that there are NEVER less than 2 employees in the store for any reason. At least Dave had dessert ready when I got home, just after 9. :teeth:

Tara, your kitchen is looking amazing!! I can't believe you have managed that all on your own!! :thumbsup2 Great job, girlfriend!! And I really, really like how it looks with the white cabinets.

Dave is using his "puppy dog eyes" and begging for a back scratch, so I think I'll go give him a little TLC. Maybe I can get a shoulder rub out of it!! Catch ya'll tomorrow. :grouphug:

The doors are all painted! whew! Am I tired puppy or what!! Not to mention I look like I painted myself today! lol!

Beth...sorry you didn't have anyone with you while you were at the store...that sucks!

I remember seeing the restaurant in the POTC ride at DL...isn't that where the old man is sitting on his porch rocking with the dog at his feet??

well, getting tired....gotta hit the hay!!

Check you all tomorrow!!

tara

Good morning everyone! I've been having consistant problems getting on the DIS, so if I am a bit MIA, please know it isn't anything personal :p

Bethie, I about died when I saw how accurate one of the homes from that scene in PotC2 was! I mean it was simply awesome and brought me right back to our lunch! Such good food and great atmosphere. Me thinks we need to plan another DL trip ;)
Sorry your fun little party went bust. I am just glad that you didn't have to stay too late last night and had dessert waiting for you :)

Woo hoo on finishing in the kitchen, Tara! We need pics! And answering for Beth, yep that was the same one :)

I need to fly and get some things started today. I think cutting our grass in in the cards too :wave2:

Morning all.....

Looks like it was a fun and productive weekend all around.....

Tara - the cabinets are beautiful!!!!!! :thumbsup2 Makes my task of picking out a new kitchen faucet just a bit lame.....

Elaine - definitely ponies next time!!!! Glad the picnic was fun!! :cheer2:

Beth - too bad no one wanted to "play" after hours with you - glad there was dessert waiting!!

Hi Suzanne, Judie, and Pam - aka the Birthday Queen!!

Not much going on here - I worked 12-5 yesterday. Hubby cooked some awesome fish for dinner last night - fluke (like sole) - cooked scampi style - it was sooooo good!!!
Spent 1 1/2 hours at the insurance company on Saturday getting Chris set up for the car - of course the girl that I spoke with on the phone was not in - we ended up meeting with the president of the company who was absolutely clueless about how to set things up - then told us we were quoted the wrong price (he was using a different city when he had Chris drivers liscense with address in his hand!!)....then didn't have the right version of Adobe on his computer - and finally had to get one of the female employees to do everything!! You can just imagine the looks she was giving him!!
I have Alyssa home with me today - she is having an adverse reaction to the antibiotic for the bacterial infection - hands are red and swelling - so I will be calling the doctor shortly.

Hoping to watch a movie with her this afternoon - Eight Below - hope everyone has a good day!!

Morning Ya Yas! Happy Monday

TC, glad your DD made it home safely. Hope your weekend was good and you got some relax time.

Tara, your cabinets look fantastic! You are doing a great job. Nice to “See” your injuries are healing. Great that you and Astrid managed to get a team thing going. I bet it was more fun that way. Oh, I LOVE the idea of a scale in the kitchen. I should have thought of that a lonngggg time ago! Going home to put ours out! Are you feeling ok today? You have been working so much on the home improvement. I’m glad it is all coming together for you. I think you need school so you can “rest” then. You’ve certainly worked so hard during this vaca.

Pam, Hope you had a fantastic Birthday!

Sherry, your weekend sounds like a spectacular one with so much packed in there. How was Talladega Nights? The reviews weren’t that good, but for the price you “paid” maybe that was ok? ;)

Beth, you are patient to be able to accept that it’s ok to get there via someone else’s path.

What Tara said:
Beth...you're right just because they do it their way doesn't make it wrong....just makes them stupid for not doing it YOUR way!!
How was the “Timeline” program? At least being the only official one in the store was for just a few hours. I won’t tell! That was so special your DH is such a considerate one to have your dessert ready when you got home!

Elaine, Yay for the shopping find. Good idea for a new pillow. Do ya think kitty would keep the one she uses with you and you might have the new one to yourself? (OK, probably not.) So, where’s Luis when the “fun” is supposed to be? I think pony riding would have been great! Kind of like playing in the spider web at the Cinci zoo was fun! Rock climbing whew! Not for me, ever…even “back in the day.” Sorry about your DIS access problems. It does seem to be a bother at times.

Suzanne, hope they get the car thing fixed. At least you have a replacement one to drive. Good to help with the resume. I hope it gets her the job.

Paula, oh my! Hope that Alyssa gets the stuff to help her with that reaction. Another oh my! About Chris and the car insurance. So what good is the president of the company if he can’t figure out how to help his customers? I’d be really glad he figured out that he needed the assistance of someone else who handled those forms on a daily basis to make sure it was done properly. So, I wonder what he does to earn his “meager” salary?

Having never been to DL, I didn’t know that there was a reference to the DL ride with Blue Bayou restaurant in PoTC2. Now that is cool!

Thanks to the Ya Yas who kept us alive this weekend.

I spent some time this weekend on the new DIS chat. What a difference. It is lightening speed compared to before.

The countdown is under 300. :earseek:

I’ve spent a good amount of time playing ketchup on and off here, so I best get this put up. I’ll try to get back later.

Morning, all!

Got a feverish kid here with me. The older munchkin was a royal pain in the butt all weekend and it probably had to do with some dyes that must have been in his dinner saturday.

Lily, she starts the new job today! She just wanted to have it on the laptop, and the old pc only had a floppy drive, the laptop doesn't. It was far quicker for me to type it than anything else. I put on my editor's hat, too, to get it under 1 1/4 pages. Woohoo on being below 300!

The patient is watching some show on Nick Junior that is rather annoying! I'm getting kinda sick of hearing "wonder pets, wonder pets"

The car is still at the dealer-the Nissan is okay, but I'd like to have my car back!

Last night's drive through Orlando satisfied a major craving for me and Ed-Pizzeria Uno. Heating some up for lunch as we speak.

Bethie, yay, dessert waiting after being the only one at the store! Didya get any scrapping done? So I have to pay careful attention to the scenery while dining, eh?

Lainey,

Paula, love the description of your experience at the Insurance Agency! :teeth:

Tara, so you've got white freckles now? :lmao:

Suzanne

morning gang!!!

Suzanne...do you think you could offer any more advice to someone who refuses to take and then gets pissy!! :rotfl: Good luck getting your car back and hope the feverish one feels better soon!!

Lily...i'm feeling better today! :woohoo: on the under 300 day count!! I'm sooo jealous!!

Elaine...sorry the dis is giving you trouble. I'm not having any difficulty so maybe you are just a pain in the butt!! :rotfl: Just kidding!!!

second coat is on the cabinet doors. now I have to wait for them to dry good. I guess i will put them up tomorrow because the paint will be too tacky tonight.

I'm trying to get into my school this afternoon but no one has answered me yet, so I may just have to go out there and see!!!

okay, i'll be back later!
have a good one gang,
tara

Lily, Talladega Nights was so funny. :lmao: I absolutely LOVE Will Ferrell. :lovestruc
I know alot of people don't appreciate his humor, though. :confused3 :woohoo: on the under 300 days countdown!!

Paula, sorry to hear about Alyssa's reaction. :rolleyes1 at the president of the insurance co. What a goober.

Tara, can't believe you did all that kitchen stuff yourself. You go girl. :cheer2: Hope you can relax a bit b4 school starts.

Suzanne, hope you get your Bug back soon. Sorry to hear about the feverish kiddo. Hope he's feeling better. My nephew watched Wonder Pets when I babysat him......what an annoying show. :rolleyes1

Beth, sorry you were all alone at the store, but :yay: for dessert waiting for you.

Kimmar, great pic. :)

Elaine, sorry the DIS is giving you problems. :badpc:
