Rose Mary - how is your DS feeling this morning? My son has had some really bad reactions to penicillin! To the point where he broke out in hives and had huge sores in his mouth.

Also - wow - you were very brave in getting your belly button pierced! I can't believe that you have no real discomfort, either. DD had this done 1.5 years ago - and she almost passed out! It was really sore for over a week, too! But she's never had any infection or anything! Just make sure you do the salt water cleaning and not to take the origianl eearing out too soon!!

Well I would like to thank Beth for my scratchy throat this morning. She is of course my idol and I want to be just like her....I think I am making a god start!! In light of all teh ickies in the B&B, I have ordered a truck load of pixie dust. Please feel free to help yourself to what is needed. I have also had meals catered in for the next week....in light of Pam's busy schedule....(and our reluctance to eat what she cooks)...but don't tell her about that part!

Lily, I have some good news for you!!! I see people everyday in PT who have had their hips replaced. They all are so much happier after the procedure. Most tell of how it is a fairly common procedure and the differance is worth the inconvience of surgery. Recovery is not terribly awful either! A lot have commented on how they would never wait again to get it done!! Hope that hubby finds this all to be true!

Nancy, how are you felling today? I hope you are feeling better and hubby is taking good care of you!!!

Rose Mary, you made me remember... officially I had the second place vote come in as a write in but it had the 2nd number of votes so it wins We will be doing our own visit to an amusement park (like WDW). I had many requests to have the California Adventure coincide with a trip that few of us are making so we can all live vicariously through that thread, so maybe it's time for the Ya Yas to have a resort at WDW!!! So we can have any theme you all like and have it located anywhere... so start throwing out ideas (and for those who suggested this, if I messed up, please correct me here or in PM)

Pam, I think it was your story of your DD getting it done that shyed me away from doing it. I wound up going to a piercing only place (that's all they do) and they are registered with the Association of Professional Piercers so I think they did an excellent job. Very minimal pain today and he was so cool about not showing me the needle or anything since I am scared to death of needles! I'd do this one again w/o a doubt!

Sherry, you have me thinking about my aunts steak fries she used to make... oh I loved them!!!!!! Too bad I'm trying to be good with what i eat

I went to the chiropractor yesterday and he said he could fix me. So I have an appt this afternoon to be adjusted...it sounds kind of scary to me but if it stops my head from hurting I'm all for it!

I found out today that the daughter that was hurt in the accident has two broken vertebraes in her neck and the dr. are hoping that the paralysis is temporary, but they are not very confident in that.

Race Car Baby/Mantilda is becoming quite the boxer. I get into bed at night and lay really still and he starts kicking and punching! Jarrod only did Tai Chi movements....very slow and deliberate.

Gotta run and do some work! Everyone get better and I'll stop back when i can!!

Well dang it - Tara!! Not only did you let prime roadkill slip through your fingers - BUT - you missed your golden opportunity for perhaps meeting Mr. Right and having a roadkill love connection!! He could have been the one - you just let a man with a pick-up, a gun rack and probably a hound dog sit on berm of the road - and you drove away. (BTW - my man has ALL of these - and look how lucky I am!! )

DH is waiting on an appointment with a thyroid specialist.....hopefully we'll get something going then and get this all taken care of.

Sherry...I carb overloaded yesterday too ....it was nice. DH went off Atkins since he's been sick and not sure he's going back on it. He might try South Beath this time around.

DD got her naval pierced a couple of years ago and it didn't bother her at all. She is a real whimp too. But.....she lost her ring while away for a weekend and it closed up....so she will be getting it redone.

Took it for years before any dental work (heart murmor) and then one day I broke out in hives and my throat started closing up. No fun.

Nancy, I enjoyed the carbs. I have been looking into South Beach, too. Seems like you can eat more things and it isn't as restrictive as Atkins.

You poor misguided soul! Don't know that it is such a good idea to idolize me! But you do a wonderful job on ketchups, so I can see it hasn't done much damage yet!

Lily, I have good news, too! My dad had knee replacement surgery and both the doc and the PT people told him that hips are easier! He had no trouble with the first and the only reason the 2nd took longer to recover was becuz he got lazy and wasn't doing the exercises he was supposed to. Will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Morning, yayas. Started a great ketchup, then I double clicked it closed by mistake...argh!

It's a mommy and booboo day. He's agreed to the haircut, but aksed for a little tv time first. Sure. He got mistaken for a girl twice this past weekend (must be the curls), and still didn't want to get it cut. I had planned on taking him right before the trip to WDW with daddy, but Ed said no way...he's living vicariously through Kevin's hair, LOL!

Lily, hope your hubby has the replacement. My best friend has been putting hers off for at least 6 years now and she's in a lot of pain. She thought that she's too young (still does, she just turned 40). I dunno, pain makes things seem much longer than they are.

RM, your son was having a classic allergic reaction. That's the reaction I get to penicillin, plus after a few hours of itching, the hives show up.

Liz...hugs sweetie. Sorry that you've got the crud that we all seem to be getting and that the surgery didn't make the pain go away. I've been toying with going to my cute doc about the left wrist...he's done 4 of the 5 surgeries on my hands. I want to go for one more follow up to tell him that if the carpal needs to be done, I will call and make an appointment, get my labs done in florida and faxed to him, then fly to Maryland for the surgery. He is THAT good. It's sad that each surgery was for a different problem that cropped up!

Tara, I agree with what you say about the pain/mom's hip. Though I did have chronic pain for 6 years before someone diagnosed mine and developed a high pain threshold. That may be going on with your mom. So, do I need to send you all the hand me down race car gear for race car baby? I've got lots of Mark Martin stuff and some daytona short sets. Then again, the short sets would probably fit Jarrod!

Lainey Wow! You're going to set off the metal detectors at the airports on those trips now! That's one that never interested me, but DH thinks it'd be cool if I got a navel pierce. The last time I got a piercing, I went three holes in one ear and one in the right...back when no one else did it (25 years ago!). Unfortunately, two of the holes are now closed

Sherry, fresh cut fries, yummy. My valentine's gift (had he found one) was going to be a good mandolin to slice the fries instead of the cheap V slicer. Alas, bloodbath and beyond didn't have any and he didn't think to go to the outlet stores to get one. I'm still getting one and I'll make fries for everyone. The nice thing about having a good slicer is that I'll get to do sweet potato fries..now those are GOOD!

Nancy, so glad that DH's troubles aren't cancer...hope the doctors figure it out and get him all fixed up.

I have pulled out my rubber gloves, mops and the vacuum. It is time to get this B & B cleaned from top to bottom and get rid of the creapin crud that that has been going around here. Dumb drs. office . I called to say DS had allergic reaction to the cough medicine to get him something else. They call back and say give him Benadryl, DUH?! I already knew that. We need some more cough medicine. OH, we'll have to call you back?! Geesh!
