I'm so bad, I always confuse both of them because they have four boys!

Hoping Deena had a safe place to go with the kids.

Hey all :) Dropping in to say hi =)

Work is still crazy >_< supposed to get off at 4:30 and didnt get out today until after 6... ohh well... hopefully I will get a nice year end bonus :P

A tart burner? >_< silly question but what is a tart burner? :-P Gives me a mental picture of someone taking a blowtorch to a helpless apple tart. :firefight

I love 80s music too and have a ton of it on my iPod :P BTW... I love my iPod :goodvibes I got it about a year ago and it is great... I highly recommend getting one to anyone who like music ^_^ I am thinking about getting a shuffle for when I go snowboarding this winter... MUCH MUCH MUCH less likely to get broken and not as big a deal if it does break and you can't get anything much smaller then that... my jacket even has a pocket with an opening to put a headphone cord through it :P Summer is bascially over now so I can't wait for December... Disney and then snowboarding yey!

Nancy, I missed who you got halloween outfits for... was thinking someone named their kids "Turkey" and "Tanzania" >_< LOL

Hope everyone is having a good week :)

Hey Ya Yas! Sorry no time to ketchup or anything. I found this on another thread and thought of Elaine and anyone else that might be interested in Cindy. It is a link about an alarm clock Cinderella alarm clock I will return later.

Nancy, I thought your kids got the costumes... not your real kids :teeth: I bet they all will look great ::yes::
Did you see about the plane landing in LAX?

I did see Deena on another thread... my heart goes out to TX. They had a nasty one not too long ago!

I will have to go look at that tart burner... I think I know which one you are talking about :)

I love 80s music too... as well as a lot of other types... my iPod is a great thing ::yes::

Great, I really would LOVE that alarm clock!!!!!!!!!!

Yuck, for some reason I am ot feeling too hot... signing off... see ya!

Good vocal workout at choir tonight. Director has purchased some really neat new music for us!

Yes, worrying about Deena here, too. Hoping and praying for the best.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Oh Jon!! Blowtorch!! Helpless apple tart!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: LYMI!

Not sure I remember Turkey and Tanzania......Will you post pix of them in their costumes?

Tuckered out, so I'm heading for bed. Ya'll sleep well! :grouphug:

Bethie, what music are you doing? Makes me long for my community choir up north. Guess I should find a group down here-female tenors can come in handy!

Suzanne

Morning all! Looks like Alex took the boards down last night at 10... I only found out about it when someone said they saw a post on the tech board... did I miss one on the CB or elsewhere?

Bethie, hope it was a good music work out :) Doing any Christmas tunes yet? :p

Suzanne, I had no idea you were a female tenor! How cool is that! Our last one left just a month ago to teach a new school in Maryland somewhere.

So hi and good morning to you all! Not entirely sure what I am up to today... wasn't able to sleep much last night for unknown reasons.

I was full of witty things last night but when I tried to post the boards were gone :( And now all my wit and wisdom has flown the coop!!!

I went to the gym this morning at 615. Came home in time to watch the news a bit and then hit the shower.

I got some work finished yesterday while I played on the riverboat. But when I got home I was called in to build a giant robot out of legos. However, my robot was less than giant...it actually turned out to be more like a boat!! I"m lousy at this stuff!!

Okay, students are demanding my attention.

Good morning, everyone! Bright and beautiful here in Northern Virginia, but it's looking scarey as all heck down there in the Gulf. Methinks Rita is quite the plus-sized hurricane and needs some drastic "dieting"!! Redoubling my prayers for all those affected, they must be terrified!

I miss my community choir, too, Suzanne. It's alot closer to me than you are to yours, but still, 40-some miles one-way on a week night for a rehearsal that doesnt' end till 10PM is not conducive to being "bright-eyed and busy-tailed" in the morning! I spent 12 wonderful years with those folks, though. Funny, now that you ask, I can't, for the life of me, remember the really cool piece we were learning last night! We did "We Believe That This Is Jesus" last Sunday and this week we are doing one called "Hymn Tapestry" which is a medley of hymns. We started work on one called "Farther On" which has a spiritual feel to it and has one group of voices "calling" and another group "responding" through the chorus part. But the really neat one..... :confused3 brain dead on that one!

And, no, Elaine, we haven't started working on Christmas yet and I'm getting worried. There are too many of us in this group who don't read music at all, or just barely (like me) and the director is planning on us doing the Messiah on Dec. 18th. That was in the newsletter and she has yet to even talk to us about it!!! I have my doubts that we will have time to learn it properly.

Glad you were able to get some work done while you were Dissing, Tiara! At least you have your priorities straight--DIS, then work! :rotfl: And, what's this?! Your robot turned into a boat?! Must have been one of those Transformer guys my son used to play with!! Sounds like you got some good "quality time" in with Jar, though. Bonus points for making it to the gym this morning, too!! You go, girl!!

G'morning, Jellybean! Don't work too hard today--after all, it's almost the weekend!

Bosses are out at a trade show today!! Whoofreakinghooo!! Was looking forward to a day of reading and Dissing until I opened my email and found a list of things to do. Sheesh..........better get to it. Sooner I get started, the sooner I get back to doing what I want!! Ya'll have a wonderful day!! :grouphug:

No playing for me on the boards last nigh :( I never saw a notice, Elaine. I came to play about 8 and couldn't

I wish DH got off at 6  The last couple of nights he has been calling about 8, ready to leave :( Getting old very fast.

Turkey and Tanzania are Geoff and M'Cori's kids.
Turkey is the one Geoff used to propose with :teeth: (yep that is his humor coming though ;) ). Then they decided to stay with country names....there cat is India.
I will try to get pictures on them in costumes when I am there......if they open their presents early.

LOL...tart burners are for candles ;)
Here is an example of the type I got, but I couldn't find mine of the website. I will try to get a picture sometime today.
The tart goes in the round bowl and a tea light goes underneath and heats it melting the wax.

Morning all - just a quick Hi  :moped:  before I hit the shower.

Not much going on here - laundry and ironing clothes for the trip.....hair cut this afternoon - maybe subway for lunch.....

Morning Paula......how many days? ;)

Cold morning here on this first day of fall !

Oh, sorry, I forgot to comment, Elaine. Yes, I did see about the JetBlue plane at LAX......about 50 times  I am so glad it landed safely ::yes::

did I mention???

4 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I thought Tart Burner was any sunscreen with SPF 10 or less used by particular YaYas.

:rolleyes1

Everytime you say "tart" this is what I think of!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Alan...you gonna sing with me?????

Okay maybe I'm gonna back on out of here if Alan and Tara are singing again ;)

Nancy, was wondering why I couldn't find your tart burner, but I really like that style a lot!!!!

Paula, four... really only four??? I am so glad that it is this close for ya though!

Bethie, I was halfway joking about the Christmas music. We did start last week, but we never did it before Oct in ohter years :faint:

My head hurts today, so excuse my lack of wit ;)

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to give you an update on Scotty. I sent an e-mail to his brother to see how he is, and his response was, "He got out of surgery yesterday." Not a lot of information there, but I guess it means it went fine. Of course, they won't know the real results for weeks, but we shall see.
