Hi everyone! Slept some through the drugs and feel better. I was helping out at my dad's neighbor's yesterday adn there was a LOT of saw dust

Tara, sorry about your bum hurting. I'd go get checked out to see if there is anything more serious. You could've hurt the tailbone or maybe a muscle possible. Not that I know all that much about backs, but learned a heck of a lot more in PT after I hurt mine. Then again mine was so bad, I hurt every single time I sat. And I found out in many cases the bending forward is worse than sitting with the arch in the back. Yuck stuff I now try to avoid!

Bethie, wow!!!!! I'd be tired too if I were you! Get some rest!

Nancy, the new kids are so cute!!!!! Have fun naming them all! And we'll have to find you a good computer game for the next time you visit :p

I totally agree!

Speaking of those two... I hope they both had a great weekend away!

Greetings from Disneyland!

I just wanted to pop in and say thank you all so much for the beautiful gift basket. It made me smile. I took pictures of it, and will post them when I get home.

There was a bit of a fiasco surrounding the basket. I'm not going to go into it all now. Perhaps Liz or Elaine will fill you in, or I can when I have more time. I'll just say that in addition to the Have a Magical 50th birthday Danny basket, they also left me some Mickey balloons, and a voucher for breakfast.

Overall, I'm having a good time, although the Disneyland Hotel leaves a lot to be desired. I have had a few little problems that alone I would have taken in stride, but together have left me frustrated to the point of tears.

Well, I guess that will do it for now.

Thanks again :) I'm lucky to have friends like you.

JellyrollsKaren

Sorry for the problems you have encountered, Karen.
Hope the rest of your stay goes well.
Give Danny a hug for us :rotfl:

Everyone meet Cookie.

Karen, I am so glad that the basket made it there and to the right person ;) Yeah, they got a not so nice call from me this morning when I found out :p But glad they got it right (and they have NO clue how it happened, as all the paper work was right and the other guy wasn't even at DLH... most likely something with bell services that screwed something up). I hope you enjoy the breakfast too :teeth:

I just kind of hope that Danny's group he was with (if any) didn't question why a Ya Ya family was sending him something :rotfl:

For those wondering, a 50th anniversary celebration basket was to be sent (as in a bunch of stuff they had in honor of DL's 50th Anniversary). And somehow Karen's and some guy named Danny got each others basket. Granted it was the same one, but Karen's card wished Danny a happy 50th birthday... um... yeah. From what I understood, the front desk didn't even understand what happened, and didn't even realize it was really the right basket but wrong card (if you want to look it at like that). So Karen brought the basket down, only to have them say "Well obviously this isn't for you, your name isn't Danny!" I'm sorry they did that, but after talking with some ditz at the front desk at DLH, I am not shocked they handled it so poorly. So they (Disneyland Vacation Planning... which btw was awesome to deal with) promised me today they'd get it right and then some... looks like they did ;)
(they also dealt with the management at DLH for Karen's inconvenience of it all)

So.... I am chuckling a little about it, but sure was *REALLY* ticked off this morning!

Awww... love the pics of the kids (and grandkids) there Nancy! Cookie Monster is so cute! Luis even let me hug one this weekend! Oh and I noticed your kids this morning... nice new costumes :teeth:

I'm off to do some things. This allergy thing isn't feeling all that great so I am wondering if I picked up a cold from some fellow church members this weekend.

We need some good thought headed CA way, please.
MIL was taken into surgery about 2 1/2 hours ago.....maybe intestinal. Not really sure right now. Dave (having been involved in the medical end of things way too long is not thinking good thoughts :( ).

Glad that all got straightened out with Karen's basket :)

Nancy, my thoughts are with your MIL. I do hope it won't be anything too serious!

Getting "server busy" messages again  So off to bed I go :)

Thanks Elaine. Dave will call his brother when he gets home from work.

I have been getting "server busy" all day

I'm off too :wave2:

Evening all.

Glad the basket arrived for Karen, although sorry you had to deal with the Ditz.

Tara, I used a donut for about 2 months after skiing down my back steps many moons ago. I'm sure Beth can relate too, for a while you absolutely dread sitting down OR getting up.

My tush isn't as padded as I thought-it wasn't happy with that bicycle seat. Oh well, it'll get toughened up soon enough!

Beth, yuck on the 6:30 am!!! What did you do, have RGIS or Washington Inventory come in? WIS either is fantastic or horrible-there is no in between, lol!

Gotta get some z's. I'm going to be a good girl and work on some stuff at the store early tomorrow.

Suzanne

Nancy, Prayers, PD and positive energy being sent your way. :hug I love your Cookie Monster and the outfit is just so perfect!

JRKaren, amazing story. Some day we will all be able to really laugh about Danny and his Ya Ya experience. Hoping you will enjoy the remainder of your trip.

Elaine, thanks for getting it all sorted. Whew!

Tara, hope you will be feeling better soon. What a traumatic experience for sure.

Beth, whew long night. Nice way to break in that new job there.

Here is Twyla Sue (Mom’s BaB) in her finest Halloween wear her Wizard of Oz Dorothy outfit.

Mom and I both played in the BaB exchange.

Off to bed. Will try to ketchup tomorrow.

I can tell I'm tired, I missed your post Nancy.

Praying all goes well for your MIL.

Suzanne

Just wanted to pop in to send :grouphug: and :wizard: for Nancy's MIL.
Hope all went well in surgery.

Sorry about the bum.
Silly DL people, glad the basket arrived.
Hope the allergies get better for everyone.
Got a room at ASSports, :( Will keep trying for POP. That'll teach me for always waiting til last minute to make ressies.
Bike riding sounds fun.
Love all the BAB photos.
Finally figured out how to download pics from camera to computer. Now just need to figure out how to post them.
Gotta get my bum in gear as I'm running late.
Oh, accepted new job at work. Hasn't been announced yet so, don't know when I start.
Later gators.............................

Morning all... dealing with a cold and the inability to sleep :(
Not sure how much I'll be around today.

No wonder it seemed slow on the DIS yesterday  I didn't pop in as much as usual, but it felt slow on all the threads I read (if that made sense)

LOL, Suzanne, I thought the same thing about my bike. I wound up getting one of those silicone covers for my seat. Definitely cushy now :)

Lily, what adorable pics there! Both the kids look great in their costumes :teeth:

Rose Mary, glad you have *a* room. What days are you trying for?
Oh and good luck with the new job whenever it starts :) What will you be doing?

Good morning, everyone!

Elaine's story is right. The guy at the front desk was just so rude to me it's not even funny! It was just part of a string of little issues that alone, I would have shrugged off, but together they have added up to quite a bit of frustration, and a few tears (granted, I'm a bit over sensitive right now because of my dad, but that still doesn't mean it's all right that I have been put in situations where I am left to tears). There have been a few incidents where I have been inconvienced because a cast member failed to do their job properly.

Overall, I'm having a good time. I am enjoying the parks. I loved the Holiday Haunted Mansion over at Disneyland. I've done it twice so far, and I'm going to do it a lot more today :) I've also enjoyed the things that are unique to Disneyland--like he Matterhorn and the Peter Pan Ride.

This morning, I'm going to see if I can use my character breakfast at the Grand Californian, and then I'm going to Disneyland (I think today is early entry there), and then off to California Adventure for a while. After California Adventure, I think I'll swing back and take a dip in the pool (if it's hot enough).

Thanks again for the basket :)

Karen

Hi everyone - sorry that I have not posted much - been a little out of sorts - better today.

Elaine - hope you feel better - get al the rest you need :flower3:
Rosemary - congrats on the new position at work :cheer2:
Tara.....I feel your pain - literally!!! My doctor told me that my tail bone would take up to 3 months to heal completely - advice they gave me is not to sit too long in 1 position - stand up - shift - etc - and to take fiber to "keep things moving"....I feel like I'm my very own pain in the butt. :confused3
Beth survived inventory - hurray!!!
Nancy - sending good thoughts and prayers for your mother in law - your "adoptees" are just too cute! :grouphug:
JR Karen - continues prayers for you - glad to hear the trip has brought some smiles. :grouphug:
Suzanne- stalking for toppers??? did I read that right?? :scratchin

Our weekend in Albany was very wet but still enjoyable. There weren't really alot of "parent" activities - mostly alumni - but we made the best of it. My husband hurt his back on Friday morning - packing the truck to come back from his fishing trip - so he was able to drive but afterwards just wanted to lie down - no one wanted to go to a football game in soaking rain so I ended up taking he kids (Alyssa, one of her suitemates, and Chris) to the mall. Alyssa got some jeans and shirts - I got jeans - Chris got a hat and wallet. Went for dinner at Chilis (rench fires were cold). Got up Sunday morning to clear skies - wanted to go to IHOP for breakfast but there was an hour wait so we opted for Starbucks - went back to the mall - Jeffrey's back was better - I shopped with Alyssa (she got boots, shoes and a hoodie) - Jeffrey shopped with Chris (well if you call it shopping - he bought shoes - motor oil and a pretzel)! After that we went for a drive in the downtown area then to Friendly's for lunch. Got home around 6pm. the hotel was much nicer than the last one that we stayed at - will definitely go there again. Alyssa was very happy just to spend time with us.
I should go into my office today - don't really feel like it......dreary and rainy here.
I'll post more later......

Cute kids, Lily. Love the costumes!!

Tara, hope the bum problem is nothing serious.

Feel better, Elaine.

RM, good luck getting the room where you want. Congrats on the new job.
Dave is getting a new postion at work too. Not sure when it starts. They are trying to make it so he will stay....so that's good.

Karen, enjoy DL!! ::yes::

Dave is on his way to the airport :(
MIL made it through the night. She had 4 feet of her intestine removed.
BIL isn't handling it well. Dave will stay with him. He couldn't help her when she collapsed because of his physical limitations :(

I need to get to the post office, finish a couple of chores and get back to that sewing. Halloween is sneaking up on me.

Hey Ya Yas!
RM, congrats on the job op.
Paula, come out of that funk.
Nancy, continued prayers for the family.
JRKaren, hoping you have a great day and it is filled with sunshine.
Elaine, feel better.

I'm ready for lunch. Came into work early, but it is not my lunch time. Off to work I go...

Tara, I'm sorry you were so shaken up by everything but am glad you were okay and that no one was more seriously injured. However, feel free to post the tight sweater pics for the rest of us if nothing else. :)

So sorry about the lousy service Karen; it was indeed rotten timing for you. I am glad you at least got the flowers and best wishes from some of your YaYa friends.

I hope all is better with the family soon Nancy!

I am not in a posting mood, but this brought me out!! heheh Alan...I believe the only pics of the tight sweater were on the local news. Sorry that part didn't make it to CNN!! hehhee

just feeling incredibly blah, tense, and generally mean today. So I am planning on reading today in order to keep my mood from permeating the DIS!!!

Nancy...hope MIL improves!
