Just a quick post to share the latest on my stay at the Disneyland Hotel (which is henceforth known as the comedy of errors). No hot water for my shower this morning--only luke warm, not warm enough for a comfortable shower. It was fine yesterday. They were working on the pipes outside my room yesterday. Guess they didn't fix anything.

YAWN......I guess it's morning, now, huh? I rolled over at 7:01, figuring I'd see if I could get a few more minutes and the next thing I knew it was 9:13!! Guess I needed the sleep.

You crazy kids..but at least you planned it for a night you could sleep in the next day.
 Oh, Alan!! You are sooooooooo bad!!!!

Karen, I can't believe what you've been going thru with DLH!! Positively unacceptable!! I'm so sorry their service has been so poor. Dave and I were not all that impressed at Paradise Pier, either, but it was never as bad as what you've had to put up with. Hopefully, GC will be much, much better. Try to enjoy the rest of your stay, anyway.

Nancy, what a decision for ANYONE to have to make! Your poor MIL and BIL, too! Lots of prayers and PD for all of you! Love your new baby, Bianca--I believe she is Buzzy's twin sister!!! So hard to actually capture that face in a pic with so much black. but she's adorable in that Tink outfit!

Ooooo, roses for Rose Mary!! From a SECRET admirer??!!! What fun and how beautiful!!! Glad you at least have a place to sleep so you can come play with us at WDW. We'll try and keep you busy enough that you won't be in the room much, anyway.

Hey, Sherry! Good to see you drop in--how's things? Have you recovered from your ordeal of being left alone with the boys for so long? Hope Junior did something super special for you, at least.

Paula, it just goes to show what a good mom you've been in raising Alyssa. She's obviously a good kid! Cookies? I'll be there shortly! Sorry about Chris' mood. My ex never knew how to stop throwing cold water on everything, either. Sigh......hope it all gets better.

OK, gotta get myself moving--the day is nearly half gone! At least I got my shower! See ya'll later!

It all started off well enough. I arrived home from work and the gym about 6pm. Dinner was served almost immediately and it was delicious. After, the children were put into the tub and were properly washed and disinfected. The baby only tried to put his head under once before realizing that this wasn't the best place to learn to swim and was removed after about 15 minutes. He appeared to have plans on something that required great concentation....:teeth: ...so he was removed, diapered and dressed. The elder of the two stayed in the tub until he resembled a prune...hence the name Prunella!

We then set about the task of doing Kindergarten homework. How hard could it be. "Take one egg carton and label it one to twelve". Great now I have eggs scrambling themselves floating around in the door of the fridge. OY! Next "have child count pennies into each numbered hole"...after 3 readings I figured out that each hole should have the same number of pennies as number on the hole. So a race ensued around the house to rack up enough pennies for this. We finally sit down and complete this. Whew! Next "count the total number of pennies". What the @#$% this kid can't get to 20 without leaving out 14 and now we have to count to some astrological number. So after 20 minutes we got it counted. (78 for those inquiring minds). The final part of the homework was to write the numbers and then draw a corresponding object (ex. 1 stove, 2 tvs, 3 phones etc) That took us almost 45!! The poor kid couldn't come up with things to draw. But bless his heart...he got it done and did a good job.

At 930 the troops were placed in their respective sleep areas and threatened to within an inch of their lives if they got up. I then gathered the shirt that Jar would wear for his pictures today. The shirt has a white collar that refused to lay down so I needed to iron it. (can you see where this is going????)

I set up the iron in the best possible location....the changing table and pad downstairs....hey it is covered, it is padded slightly and has a hard surface under it! Iron is turned up to high, steam is set to high, and the pressing begins. I have always been teased b/c I iron with my left hand. So i try and use my right hand occassionaly. last night was no different. I used the left and then I used the right while the left held the collar. I then reached across my body and sat the iron down with the face plate facing out wards...so I could grab it again with my right hand......except I reached without looking and grabbed it with my left hand. This was followed by a sizzle and the following words @#$% @#$% @#$%^^%# @#$%^%$#@# and a few other things I can't repeat here.

So I spent the next 45 minutes with my hand in cool water and then soaking in an aloe gel with lido cane. I slept with the 3 fingers soaking in aloe gel under some finger tip cot thingys....they are little rubber things that you roll downward....you can figure out what they look like :teeth:. I woke up this morning to 3 fingers swollen from haning down during the night and then the fingers blue and wrinkled (blue from the aloe).

They are now bandaged with water proof bandaids and they still hurt like heck, so it is taking me forever to type this because I keep making mistakes!!

Thus ends Volume 34, Episode 10.11.2005
tara

 Sorry Tara.

This is why people should not call Rebecca while she is ironing :rolleyes1

Hi Ya Yas!

Nancy, prayers that things stabalize and healing goes well.

RM, nice oh so nice!

Alan :rotfl2:

Tara, :hug didja burn the shirt too? (I would have burnt it all by that point.)
:earseek:

Beth, glad ya got to sleep in. I don't make the decisions on my hair style. I give it up to my hairdresser and hope for the best. It works for me this way.

JRKaren, I cannot believe it. I don't think that we will be rushing out there anytime in any future. Whew! There's no place like home.

Paula, sorry about Chris, glad aby Alyssa.

Later...same as usual here.

Speaking of which - Alyssa has 2 days off so went to stay with him - telling me "don't worry mom I'm bring my homework and I'm making him go to class" - which I thought was cute and nice that she is always open with me.
Chris came home from work in a bad mood last night - I think he brought up the subject of buying a car ( he had told me he wanted one to have to work on) and I think my husband shot him down (prob telling him what's wrong with the truck in the yard - he can work on that) - anyway - he didn't talk much last night - he has PSAT's today.

Pam - I didn't get the mug while I was at WDW - didn't realize that the shops didn't stay open during Extra Magic hours..... :wizard:

Paula - I think the Moms handle it better than the Dads when the girls have dorm visits with their BFs ;)

Dan has PSATs today, too. Of course he never even cracked open the PSAT booklet or practice test.

My DH was always like that - not wanting the kids to buy their own vehicles. I always backed the kids up and talked my DH into letting them do it - it's their money, plus I think they are much more maturer and responsible when they've paid for the car themselves.

Mug? I know nothing about a mug??

Ahhhhhh.... Rosemary, beautiful flowers! :smooth:

Tara - Poor baby! :guilty: Hope the hand is feeling better.

Alan - I take you are the one who calls Rebecca when she's ironing? :earseek: I hope it was your shirts.......

Elaine - allergy season has been really bad this year. Dan has been miserable!

Nancy - wow! :guilty: What a family situation! :guilty:

Beth, isn't it glorious to sleep in? That's my all time favorite thing to do!

JRKaren - sounds as though you could use a little      for your vacation woes.

Lily - you lie! You are probably doing something very sinful and decadent even as I type these words! :rotfl:

Pam - sorry - the mug comment was for Suzanne - please forgive!! And you - you are right - mom's do deal with things better - for the dad it's on a need to know basis - which is rare!! I've had my own inner moral discussion and in my heart I know she is a good kid - so far makes very good decisions and as I said before just the fact that she is open with me warms my heart.

Haha - PSAT practice book???? I saw that on Chris' fooseball table this morning - my guess is it never got opened either. He just caled me - wants to know can he go to a friends house after school and work on a truck - guess he's living vicariously for now.....

Tara - you made me smile!! Avoid ironing at all cost I say!!

Hi Lily :wave2:

More later......

Ouch, Tara. Sorry about the hand thing.

I think MIL will go with the blood thinner meds. Dementia doesn't bother her ;) only everyone else. And it isn't life threatening.

I'm supposed to be sewing  Came up here to get some of the extra material because we forgot to cut a piece and I couldn't walk by the computer without checking in
Can you tell I really, really don't want to be sewing.

DIS is slow.....is it just me? And getting "server busy" message more often than I used to.....guess that is a sign to get off ;)

Nancy - I know what you mean about logging off the DIS and then walking by the computer and logging back on.... I am supposed to be working on a display for Scouts tonight. Plus, doing the work deposit.... plus laundry and dishes (well, I actually have those as a work-in-progress!)

Paula - At this point I figure the girls are over 18 and if they finally decide to cut loose a little bit, let them. My DD, I think, is a lot like yours - a pretty darn good kid! I'm very proud of her and how she has behaved morally ove the years.

My DH always says that it's okay for boys to do *that* - but not the girls, well, at least not his DD.

Karen, I am sorry about the latest from DLH! I do hope that it will be better for you at GC!

Bethie, glad you were able to sleep in some :)

Tara, I am so sorry about your hand being burned!!! I say if you like to iron with your left hand (I sure do) don't even think twice in the future ;) HOpe it feels better soon!

Alan :p

Lily, that's smart! I try to leave it up to my hair person too... though I haven't had a haircut in a LONG time!

Pam, sorry Dan's been miserable with allergies. It is a rough year for them. Right now I have that stupid cold on top of allergies. I am in SUCH the fog with cold medicine and the like now!

funny about the parent talk... I lost my mom before it got to that point with me, but after a while everything was on a need to know basis with my dad. Actually it was "Don't ask, don't tell" policy. He never asked, I never told ;)

Paula, is Chris' mood any better today?

Nancy, I'm having issues with th DIS more too... good luck with sewing :teeth:

If you want to try something fun, try being drugged up and giving your cat medicine... wow! I can't focus my eyes on much of anything, let alone little liquid going down tiny cat throat

Pam - it appears we could be neighbors on "Double Standard Lane"....you can't miss my house - there are waders hanging from the clothes line....

And why is it that the one that he trusts the least and gives the least credit to is the one that has never given him any trouble or worries....oh .....wait she a GIRL!!!!! That's why...... Did I mention my husband has 4 broothers - no sister????

Chris just came home - long enough to get pretzels and $$ from mom - off to work on his friends truck - in a pretty good mood.

I started moving the summer - fall clothes - getting rid of alot. Laundry to fold now - back later.....

Tiara- I really do hope your hand is feeling better. Didn't mean to laugh but, it's just typical of something I would do. And the way you tell a story :teeth:

:wave2: everyone, suppose to be working but the only thing working is my ADD.

Lainey, this is to help since you are drugged. The medicine goes in the end with the ears.

Cleo will appreciate it.

Another piece of advice. If you can hear meowing while you are giving Cleo her medicine, you are putting the medicine in the wrong end.

Okay, the men are killing me here!! I'm trying to be in a crappy mood and instead I'm laughing at the computer!!

So which end did it hit Elanie??

The hand feels fine as long as I don't tap it on anything....like the key board! I think the Aloe prevented it from blistering. I think the most damage is under the skin. I'm such a dork!!

I guess I should just be happy that I didn't cut my leg off shaving this morning :rotfl: :rotfl:

kids coming!

laying in bed with an adorable cat :teeth:

And for the record, it went in and down her throat... not the happiest cat at the time, but she got over it :p

Alan & John, you two are soooo bad!

Paula, I wonder why that men feel that way about their girls... I suppose they are just owrried they'll meet someone like a bad boy they knew (or maybe were ;) as kids themselves

Rose Mary, shiny metal stuff getting in the way (that's what Luis teases me with when I get distracted)

boring day here... doing a little around the house, but mostly just trying to stay out of trouble.

Having a problem with the sewing project.....so needed a break.

The gang .....so far ;) George, Jorge, Nutmeg, Cinnamon and Ginger have yet to arrive :jester:

Alyssa called - she is going to the library to do homework while Ryan is in class....

Had a slight furbaby crisis - in Casey's zeal to come in the house she ran up the deck stairs - tripped and almost pulled one of her nails out - it was bleeding pretty bad - I got the bleeding stopped - she is not limping but will prob at least need a trip to the groomers for a good nail clipping - I tried to bandage it but she would have nothing to do with that.

Still raining here - thinking of maiking myself a stirfry for supper......

In a much better mood - I think the "funk" has passed.

Nancy, Bianca reminds me a little of Cleo... incertain pictures you can't really see her face

What a cute group so far :teeth:

Oh and good luck with the sewing!

Awww, poor Casey! I hope that the toe is feeling better soon! That sounds painful!

Still in a fog... not fun...
