Beth - how are you surviving without Boy Genius? Has he called you at home, wanting help with work stuff?
LOL!!! No, but nice boss called an hour and a half into his first work day without me!! :rotfl: Called the next day too!! I'm surviving fine, not so sure about the office. Nice boss wants me to keep him updated on what days I have off so that as soon as they hire someone to replace me, I can come by and give them some training. Told him the CPA pays me $32/hour for contract work, I'd be happy to give him the same cut rate!! :teeth:

Thanx for the doctor updates, Laine & Paula. Trying to keep better track of what's going on with my sistahs and bothers better, now that I have some time.

Laine, I love being home, but I'm spending too much time in front of the computer. Like I didn't know that would happen. Just so easy to sit here while the washer runs.....gotta motivate myself out the door soon to pick up something for the BAB exchange on the DIS.

You evil people who put me in touch with Mouse Surplus!! I sooooo want to spend $200 and get the front end of a Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin car!! But, instead, I just received my "new" drapes. $14.95 a pair for those thermal lined drapes that used to hang in the rooms at AS-Mo. I LOVE them! They are ivory and a really nice denim blue, which matches my living room furniture exactly. May have to re-think my plans to hang them in the spare bedroom.........They stink from being in storage, so I'm off to the dry cleaners!

Evening all! (wow, that looks SO much better now that I've placed my fingers on the keyboard properly!)

Got my Home Equity Loan-woohoo! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of me-now I have to figure out when I'm heading to Orlando to close. Probably next Thursday and I'll take the boys to the parks.

Bethie, you got the drapes from Mouse Surplus? We're hoping to furnish Kevin's room in Poly furniture. Speaking of Kevin, he lost a tooth today!

Pam, sorry, no leftovers. Our butcher puts things in two packs, so I only had two Zorbas.

Lainey, glad Cleo's gaining weight.

Happy Anniversary, Alan and Mrs. AA!

Tara, :rotfl: on showing the students who's boss!

Paula, brava on asserting yourself!

In laws are making progress. The movers came today and quoted to pack, move everything (including the car) and unpack. It was less than what I expected-they booked the movers for Dec 1st! I was teasing that they need to fly into MCO so I can pick them up and then bring them over to WDW. Unfortunately, they'll have the cat with them, so that won't work.

Good day all around. Hope Nancy is enjoying her time with Geoff and M'Cori!

Paula, so glad to hear that everything is healing well :) You got a great deal at Kohl's too!!!!

:wave2: See ya Nancy!!!!!!

Tara, hope your work out went well... I know I like to bike to work off stress!

Bethie, feels kind of good when they want you back to help like that, doesn't it? I do hope that your nice former boss has a good career ahead of him. He sounded like a great guy!

Kimmie, can you believe it, I cannot get to the Third Day site :( Boo hiss on internet woes!!!

Need to finish getting dressed. Have choir practice tonight and need to reheat some left overs before then too.

Boo hiss is right! Too many people listening to the album maybe. :p

Have a nice evening at choir practice!

Hope everyone is having a happy Thursday evening...

I just wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for my family and I these past few days. It's really been a crazy few days here, and the wonderful support I've gotten here has been amazing. I'm really lucky to have such wonderful friends, and I'm so glad that I am part of this community.

My father's funeral was this morning. The priest at our church, Father Joe, really did a wonderful job on the service. I had shared some stories about my dad with him, and he worked them into an a eulogy that was uplifting, and comforting. Father Joe had met my father only twice--at my mom's wake and funeral last year.

The main story that Father Joe used in the eulogy was a story about a gift that has been going around my family for the past few years. My father got a keychain with his picture on it for free at the racetrack several years ago. My family used to have a joke grab each Christmas, and my father gave it to someone in the family one year. Since then, we have been passing it on from person to person for birthdays and holidays. Last Christmas, my brother-in-law left it on my sister's Christmas tree like it was an ornament, and my sister passed it on to my father for Father's Day this year. We had the keychain in the casket with my dad at the viewing, and my brother took it before they closed the casket so that we could continue to pass it on.

Father Joe took that story, and worked it into a story about how that keychain represents God's love in my father's life. And how my dad passed that keychain to someone with love. He told us to continue to pass that on through the family as a sign of my dad's love, and God's love. He referred directly to my nieces and nephews, and he said that hopefully someday, they will pass it on to their children as well.

I continue to be amazed by my nieces and nephews. Their grace and strength throughout this week has been amazing. They have been strong for all of us, somehow realizing when the adults needed hugs, and giving them to us. The were respectful of everyone who came to the viewing last night, even the aunts they rarely she who attacked them with kisses. The six of them served as honorary pall bearers, and pushed my dad's casket down the aisle at the church after drapping a white dressing over it. Two of them did the readings, and the rest of them carried the gifts to the altar. I'm amazed by how much they have grown, and what great kids they are. I am very blessed to have those six kids in my life.

So thanks again, everyone, for your support these past few days. You'll never know just how much it means to me.

Kimmie, unfortunately it is a web thing... some places can't access certain sites now... stupid money fights

:wave2: Hi Sherry!

Karen, that honestly sounds like it was a very lovely funeral and eulogy :) I think your priest said it wonderfully about the keychain!

I'm heading to bed soon... neck hurts. Choir was fun though. One of hte priests walked in as we were singing "O Holy Night" and said "It's not even Columbus Day yet" :teeth:

Anywho... see y'all in the morning!

Yabut in some parts of Ohio it is always Columbus Day :confused3

Oh give me a break people, it's late ;)

Night folks!

Alan, you are a twit ;)

Glad you made it there safely, Nancy!

And morning to all! Lovely gloomy day with a high in the 50s... kind of wish it were a bit nicer for tonight. Luis and I are going out to some fancy steak house for our anniversary. Yep, some fool has put up with me for 5 years of marriage now :p

Happy Anniversary to Elaine and her Prince Charming!

Good morning, everyone!

I can't remember if I told everyone this or not, but I have decided that I will go on my trip to Disneyland this weekend. My family has been encouraging me to do so, so I think I will. Worst case scenario, if I feel like I need to come home, I'll come home.

Karen

Karen - Your description of your father's funeral service brought tears to my eyes. It sounded beautiful and it touched my heart to hear how close your family is to one another and how you support and love one another.

I am overjoyed to hear that you are continuing with your plans to go to DL this weekend. May God watch over you and grant you travelling mercies. And a good time.

Didn't make it to the gym last night :( I went home to get my things and never went back out. So I was there at 630 this morning. Now I'm trying to decid where I'm going for lunch today. I don't want PBJ again.

Happy Anniversary Elaine and Luis!!

Karen, I am so glad you are going to DL. Let that Disney magic work on your for awhile.

Thanks all! Y'all are sweet :)

Paula, hope your check up wasn't too bad... I hate going myself!

Karen, I am so glad to hear that you will be goin! I hope you have a great trip :)

Thanks, Tara! I'd rather have 80 and rain than 50 and rain! At least while I have to go out in strappy heels ;)

Nancy, hoep you have fun shopping :)

Hi all - the check up went fine - got my "Orders" - go for yearly bloodwork and mammogram - already made the appt. Oh yeah - she did an EKG too - I must be gettting older - that was fine. We had a lovely chat about beginning stages of menopause....seems I am perfectly normal.....yeah right. So while Alyssa worries about not gaining the "freshman 15" I now get to worry about the "midlife 20" - hahha. I did promise to start exercising and I will get back to WISH - starting Monday - promise.

It's 77 and muggy here - Chris is mowing the lawn - I'm doing laundry. Still have to pack. Leaving tomorrow morning for Albany - not sure exactly what we will be doing - I think it's going to rain all weekend.

Hope everyone is having a great day - I'll post more later.
