Anyone have any cruise excursion advice?
I got a thread on the DCL Boards....
We are thinking about the Dolphin excursion but it is $$$$

Todd - sorry that I missed this post of yours.

We did the DCL thing 4.5 years ago - we did the 4 day land, 3 day sea package.

We docked at Nassau and did the horseback riding on the beach - it was very pricey, too!! I booked it on my own. It was nice but not fantastic and imo, overpriced.

Looking back - we should have done the swim with dolphins. My DD is a dolphin fanatic (infortunately I didn't know that at the time). This is a big regret of mine.

A lot of Cruise posters have wrote positively of their experiences. If you can swing it - and your kids are up for it - I would seriously lean towards booking it. You could do a little research and see if you could book it on your own for a cheaper price. DCL raises the prices of the excursions up if you book through them.

Oh and yeah - how cool is that?! BaB at the Super Bowl!!

Tag Fairy sure works fast. I liked the frozen banana one but, I'm glad they fixed your tags the way you like Nancy.
JRKaren-fingers crossed that DSL keeps working right. Oh and I hadn't even heard of amblyopia let alone strabismus whatever, until last summer.
Deena-glad they diagnosed your DS early so that he won't have problems in the future. Good Luck getting him to keep those glasses on and in one piece
Paula-My DS had all A's & B's on his last report card and a D in gym. He wasn't dressing out or bring a pencil on days they had tests .
He just got his midterms and he has straight A's. We are so proud of him. He doesn't have gym this 9 wks he has Health.
Lily, I can't believe a nurse did not show your mother how to check her blood sugar. When my not yet ex was diagnosed they taught both of us how to do it. You do know they make machines that you can check your blood sugar from areas other than your fingers right? IMO that's the only ones they should have. Poor fingers get sore. Anyway, good luck with it all. Oh, we also went to nutrition classes which were real helpful.

Deena, glad that Evan's eyes are fine. Glasses are fun You should have seen Geoff with them when he was little. I don't know how he could see out of them a lot of the time...they were always smeared with something....and he had no nose to keep them up

Nancy -- I noticed that several people got tags recently, here as well as on other dis boards so maybe if I wish really hard and leave out some chocolate a nice tag fairy will visit me one day..I just hope I don't eat all the chocolate before they get here... Better go buy some more just in case..

Frozen banana conversation was a few pages back - my banana dudes froze and wouldn't dance, neither would Nancy's.

The horseback riding excursion was not even listed on DCL's options. I found it doing a web search. You had very limited amount of time on the beach - had to ride down the street and across parking lots to get there. Very expensive, too. And the guy that picked us up in Nassau looked like something out of Deliverance! Scary ride through those narrow streets in this beat-up old van!! Kids still laugh about that!

Do a google and see if you can't book the excursion on your own. What did any of the cruise board posters suggest?

Shep-- we have never done a 7 night or the land/sea but we did to the Blackbeards Stingray Adventure and was very dissappointed.. Food stunk, Never had time to enjoy the beach, the rays were awesome and I even fed them fish.. I wouldn't do it again though. I don't believe we got our money's worth out of this excursion..

I took a sleeping Pill and I am still WIDE awake

Greetings from the laptop, lol!

It came this afternoon, while I was slaving away at work.

I got a first year resident for my post op. He couldn't get past pharmacology basics..."doc, I get nauseous from Vicodin. I only use it so I can sleep, because I can't function sick"...he says "try some Advil"...I say "It doesn't work for me, I once was on 800mg motrin 3x a day and had no noticable effects from it"...so he says "why do you need to take pain medication"...DUH! We went around and about this issue. So, I have my SoCo and Coke to help me to sleepy time tonight.

I need it...the 8 hours were difficult. I think the first week back will be hard. At least I stopped limping yesterday. This is the first procedure I've had done on a leg, and it's quite different returning after surgery on an appendage that bears weight!

Okay, I need to figure out why I keep scrolling the screen when I'm not even near the touchpad. Wraparound function keys are weird, too.

The taxes are done, and I don't feel guilty about getting this thing anymore, yay!

Sorry it's an eiop, but I will get back in here tomorrow.

Rose Mary, there's not a bad word being said about Jax in our papers...they just said don't expect a limo this week-80 percent of the limos registered in my county went up there to chauffeur around the high rollers that have invaded your town. Hang in there, it'll be over soon.

Morning All,

Woke up early. Just waiting for the coffee to be done so I can have my first cup. It's chilly here so that cup of coffee will warm me up just nicely. LOL Im stuck watching an infomercial because the dog rolled over onto the remote and changed a setting and I can't change the channels. I am soooooooo tv/remote challenged. LOL my dh just got up for a nature call and I nabbed him to fix the TV. Gonna be a busy day today. Both boys have BBall games. I just love watching them play. They have so much fun.

Todd I have never cruised so I can't tell you about excursions. The lady I work with has so if you want me to ask her I will.

RM I don't envy you this weekend. It's gonna be a madhouse where you are. I'm praying that everything goes smoothly for you and you don't have too much of a hassle with the extra traffic and people. Have a blast at the BAB booth. Are you going today?

Suzanne Im so sorry you had to deal with such a nitwit for a doctor. I can't believe they can't give you something for pain that doesn't nauseate you. Im sorry you had so much pain working. I will say prayers that it calms down very soon for you. Im glad you are having a blast on your new laptop and that your taxes were so good. Thats wonderful!!!

Suzanne, sorry bout that newbie doc you had to deal with there and your pain. I am learning to navigate around a laptop and found I don't like the mouse pad thing. I've got a real mouse hooked up to the one I use. It's quicker for me.

Karen, I am amazed that you don't drive your own remote. I have been bestowed my very own so we don't even have to fight over where and who gets to hold it. Matter of fact, we have 3 where we watch TV, one for each seating arrangement. Same with the phones, too lazy to get up after we sit here.

Picture challenged Ya Yas. It takes a wee bit of time to learn the basics, but armed with the basics you could do it. I'm sure some Ya Yas here could conduct a picture posting 101 class as needed. The picture taking 101 is a bit of a pre req however.

We're having a heat wave...I think that we will be seeing more thawing occur today. Out thermometer is reading 32 degrees. Sun is coming up so more snow will be gone. Got the papers for the neighbors and ready to brew coffee for us. I'm already hungry but it is not time for me to eat yet. I've got some work to do today that I brought home. Will check in later.
