Tara, forgot to say that that is such a cute pic of your boys with Santa. :)

Tara that is such a cute picture of your boys!!

Nancy I hope Geoff can get your computer up and running for you.

Liz congrats on the DVD player. Shrek 2 is such a cute movie.

Hey all I could use a few prayers if you have any spare. I am down sick pretty badly. Im scared and a doctors visit is in my future for tomorrow. I feel like Im repeating last Christmas and I just cant go there again. Im up now because Im having problems breathing and I have a gland in my neck that is so extremely painful it isn't funny. Im gonna try and go lay back down and sleep. I have absolutely NO sick time and cant afford to take any unpaid time so I have got to go to work Monday through Thursday at noon. I will just have to take it very easy and sleep when Im not at work. Ugh I cannot believe this is happening again!

BTW, Liz, When did your tag change to "Wants to be just like JR Karen" ?

Suzanne, she has had that tag for at least six months! Not very observant now, are we ;)

But, yes, Liz does want to be just like me. She aspires to great and wonderful things, but she just can't reach that level. It's good to have dreams though.

JellyrollsKaren

Good morning everyone!

Now that I've commented on Liz's tag in my previous post, I can move on to a proper ketchup.

The snow is a falling here in Boston, but it's not too bad yet. Just a dusting so far. I don't think we're supposed to get more than a few inches, but it is going to be bitter cold. Not fun.

Caroline, I hope that it warms up a bit for you. 0 degrees. Yuck!

KathyTX, you should come up north and visit us folks with the snow and the cold weather. If you do, don't eat the yellow snow.

Tara, great picture of the boys! Ethan is getting soooooooo big. They are such cuties.

Lily got cookies! Lily got cookies! She married a good guy--who knew Ted could bake cookies?

Liz, you didn't have a DVD player? Geez. I bet you only recently had running water and electricity, too ;) DVD players are fun :)

Rose Mary, glad you enjoyed the movie. I'm still debating if I'm going to go see it. Jim Carrey is usually pretty funny in that type of movie.

Suzanne, you sure are getting in the Christmas spirit! Seeing all the lights and decorations! I haven't done that up here yet--too busy.

Kristy, I wasn't burning Liz's butt so she wouldn't eat chocolate. I was burning Liz's but because it was fun :) Oh, and I did let Liz eat chocolate--I let her have some of the s'mores we got at Prime Time.

Boo, your husband makes bagels from scratch? I think you need to send us each a dozen so that we can try them out. Does he make different kinds? Does he boil the bagels?

Sherry, how can you tell us about baking a cake and not giving us details about it. Was it chocolate? Or gold? Or mable? What kind of iciing? Come on. Do tell.

Deena, you should post a picture of you 28,543 boys with Santa. Did you get them all in one picture, or did you have to take several thousand to get all of the boys in a picutre with Santa?

Nancy, I hope that your PC get's better real soon. It's no fun playing on an old broken down PC.

Karen, sorry you aren't feeling so hot. You need to slow down and take care of yourself. Don't spread yourself so thin.

Well, I'm done for now.

JellyrollsKaren

Good morning all! It was 0° when I woke up... yep a big fat goose egg of a temp this morning. I don't wanna know what the windchill was. That cruise of ours isn't coming soon enough!!!!

The wrestling thing... I talked about it a few months back, but we had to delay taping from Oct until December. It was requested that we bring back an old community show we used to do by someone who is getting married next year. So 10 years later, we all did this show. Anywho... the reason why I am tired and aching is this time they had me ref all the matches and they decided they could beat up on the ref. Mostly all intentional, save one where Kevin was thrown into me because they had unintentionally changed the direction he was supposed to go. I got kicked pretty hard by that one. I don't know how wrestlers do it w/o aching and I didn't get hit as hard as some!

Tara, the boys with Santa is adorable!!! I love it!!

Liz, yay for the DVD player!!

Jeannie, those bagels sound yummy!!!

LOL Rose Mary!! I don't know which is bugging me more right now, the snow or the temps. Eitherway I'd be happy with your temps!!! Hope it warms up soon though!

Great catch up there, Kristy!

Sherry, sounds like you had a great day yesterday!

Deena, there was no line for Santa when I walked by him (several times) either. Now that I think about it, Luis and I should've gone and visited him :teeth:

Suzanne, good luck with that cough... I hope you are able to sleep soon. I've been there with coughs and it is not fun!

Karen, my thoughts are with you... feel better soon!!

Liz wants to be just like JRKaren? Huh... who knew? :p

Brain is still frozen ;) Hope y'all have a great day!!

Just a quick check-in....

Liz...we watched Elf last night. Did you?

It was very cold this morning....glad shopping is done, all but a few gift certificates.

Tara...wonderful picture of the boys.

Finally told Todd about our stay over trip after Christmas. We are headed for a night in Indianapolis...Anyone want to join us????? Taking the girls to the Children's Museum and spending time at the hotel pool.

Better get to work!

Morning Ya Yas!

I don't know what it's like everywhere else, but I'm freezing my Ya Yas off here this morning! :earboy2: It's -10F right now with a -27 wind chill. It's just so wrong. Fortunately this is only supposed to be a two day cold snap, so tomorrow we should be back above zero (in F and C - heh). At least it isn't snowing (although there's a nasty looking system coming later this week..) I'm back on shift today, so I can see that it's a balmy 39F in Orlando now. WDW's gonna be sold out of sweatshirts. ;)

Tara, no worries about the 'weather geek' thing. We actually call ourselves that - heeehee. And it's 'CarolInE' .. long I. I understand about wanting to say it right in your head. Your pic of your kids with Santa is adorable! I love the little reindeer slippers (shoes?). So cute!

Lily, cookies sound good. And maybe some hot chocolate. Mmm. Hope your work day goes well.

Suzanne, 50 degrees feels 'Christmas-y'? I could get used to that. ;) Indiana Jones topper? Color me geeky, but that sounds super-cool to me.

Liz, congrats on the DVD player? Did you enjoy the movies?

Rose Mary, Hi there, don't think we've met yet :) Did you read the Unfortunate Events books first, or did you just see the movie? I'd like to see it, but I've never read the books, so I don't know if I'll 'get it'.

Hi Kristy! Nice to meet you. :)

Nancy, hope your computer woes are almost over. Glad your BIL is out of the hospital. That's great. :)

Karen, hope you're feeling better soon. Being sick at Christmas-time is no fun.

JRKaren, 0 degrees is just wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. And it's supposed to warm up just in time for a big snow storm later this week. Let's mail some snow to KathyTX (not the yellow kind though).

Elaine, that wrestling thing sounds pretty wild! Hope you didn't get beat up too badly.

Ok, time to work. Have a great morning everyone!

Amanda, when are y'all going to Indy? That's not too far from us!

Caroline, thanks for telling us how you pronounce your name. We found out after meeting in person, that a few of us had gotten each other's names wrong :p And wow, I was feeling bad about our 0° temps today!!! I feel for you there!

Lily, you ought to get yourself a snow blower/thrower! I like moving snow with one of those ::yes::

Don't wanna be here...

Here we sit at home because we have snow on the ground!! Schools are all closed, businesses are delaying their openings, and here I sit!! How much snow do we have you ask? Oh, I'd have to say maybe an inch (that is on the grassy areas where it is tall!!) on the roads we have a little layer of ice. But hey around here we shut things down for every flake that falls!!!

Thank you for all the responses on the pictures of my boys!! I think they are kinda cute but for some reason when I say it people think I'm a little biased  hehehehehe

Caroline...thanks for helping the voices in my head!! Those reindeer feet were actually the feet of that outfit he had on. I found that at sears for 10 bucks!! I was so excited! Are you a tv meteorologist or do you work for some other type of organization?

Liz...glad to see you in the 21st century. I have never seen any of the movies of which you speak!!! I have one topper and he currently resides on top of my phone at home. He makes it a little heavy to carry around and talk on but he looks cute!

Suzanne...wah!!! I wanna go back to Disney to see the other Christmas decorations!!! I'm so jealous. Enjoy your warm temps!!

RM...sounds like you and your son are having fun with your work friend!! Try and stay warm. We will happily remind you any time you complain about florida weather.

Elaine...ouch!! I was the interpreter for our high school wrestling team a few years ago (while I was preganant with Jar) and just watching them made me sore. I would have to interpret at practice while the guys were in the middle of moves so I was rolling around on the floor with the coaches!!! Thank goodness it wasn't that bad during the matches!

Sherry...didja finish your laundry? Stay warm!

Amanda...so you all are taking a trip!! sounds like fun. Jarrod still enjoys seeing the pictures of your girls when I'm on line. I think he likes blondes!

Deena....I saw Santa when I was at DTD but I was the only one there so I decided I didn't want to sit on Santa's lap by myself! :teeth: This santa had a whole beach thing going on. He was sitting in the back end of a woody, he had surf boards all around that had the reindeer names on them, and an animatronic reindeer sitting in a beach chair with a hawaiian shirt on! It was really cute.

Jeannie...sounds like your dh is an over achiever in the baking department! I did the break and bake for my sugar cookies and they turned out much beter than they would have if I had done it all by myself. today, since I don't have to work, I'm going to do my Spritz cookies. We'll see how they turn out! Oh and who's Jude? :duck:

Nancy...hope you get a better computer soon. Maybe santa can bring you a new 'puter! That's great that your son got a raise.

JRKaren...my ex's home port for American Eagle is in Boston. So he is not used to the city continuing to move when it snows!! He likes it though. When Jarrod is older he will get to visit. Unless, Jay wants to pay for me to fly wiht Jarrod up there and then find a place for me to stay! hehehe

Karen...hope you feel better. Good luck at the doctors.

Pam...hope you met your deadlines! Is your DD home yet? (I don't remember if I read when she was coming home, brain drain!)

Lily...more snow shoveling and working!! It amazes me that people have to work in snow!! hehehe :teeth: Don't work too hard today! Tell the boss you need to save your energy for all that shoveling you are doing!

Kristy...Hola, como esta? I know more but it isn't fit for public display. I used it with Elaine and Luis and Luis cracked up!!

Okay, I'm thinking this post is about two miles too long!! so I will go and if I forgot you I apologize! I have become a lousy ketchuper!! I will try and do better!!

hugs!
tara

Unlike a couple of other NE Ohio YaYa's, we did manage to make it to church on Sunday. I guess that it helps that church is only 2 miles away. The congregation was smaller than the combined chancel and bell choirs. It was a chore getting there, but it was worth it to hear them perform the Hallelujah Chorus. DW Sue used the snowblower on the driveway at least half a dozen times. DS James decided that he wanted to drive over to GF's house at 7PM. Yikes. We cleaned off his car and told him to call us when he got to Emily's house. Which of course he forgot to do. Argh. And when we called his cellphone, he didn't answer. Turns out that he left it in the car. We finally got ahold of him by calling Emily's house. We told her dad to give James the "evil eye". I guess he threw a few marshmallows at him to let him know that mom and dad were worried about him.

We still have to get together with Sherry to get those ornaments from Beth delivered. I promised to bring them safely to Ohio, but that last 60 or so miles is turning out to be a bigger obstacle that I imagined. At least the weather is supposed to warm up a bit tomorrow. It was -2 degrees when I left home for work this AM.

Sue and the kids are off to the mall this morning. I forgot to take my antibiotic before I left for work. Sounds like a good excuse to go home early. I have to go to the dentist tomorrow to have a filling replaced. He's also going to look at the cyst that I discovered on (or should I say in) my lip. I often wonder if I'm going to make it to 50yo. Sigh.

Stay warm and safe everyone. And get well wishes to those of you who are under the weather.

Pam, glad to hear that you are "slowing" down!!!!! You really need to plan ofn some r&r and spend some time with that daughter of yours!! How did her finals go? Hope all went well! I sure don't miss taking all those finals!!! What is up with yur son? Doesn't he have a trip or two planned? And yes, how is Gunny? Haven't heard any "Did I tell ya what Gunny did" stories lately! If I missed anybody,

Mad, mad, mad, Christmas love to you all!!

:grouphug:

So far, this day is going by pretty quickly. I hope that keeps up. Only 7 and 3/4 hours to go! We're up to -1F now (sounds so much more impressive as -18C - heh). Soon I'll be able to venture outside again. Unless I can get someone else to go for me. heh

Elaine, I'm glad to know Ya Yas will have my name right. I usually don't fuss about it too much unless it's someone I know well or who should know better (like my boss!), but it's nice to be asked. :)

Tara, that whole outfit he has is the cutest, and a deal too! Even better! I work for the Canadian weather channel, so I'm around tv but not on it. Our tv people are, for the most part, not meteorologists - they have journalism degrees and whatnot. The mets are the 'behind the scenes' people (although I have been on tv a few times).

Towncrier (again, I'm without my cheatsheet, sorry!), hope you're staying warm! I also hope the dentist trip goes well - I have to phone my dentist later and I'm waaaay overdue for my checkup. Gonna get read the riot act, I'm sure.

Liz, I have to say that leaving my pretty good job is a huge negative about the going back to school plan. My current employer would subsidize some of it, if I picked a school where I could still work here, although that would be difficult with my shift work and it would really limit my choices school-wise. On the plus side, most of the schools I applied to offer really good assistantships, so I shouldn't have to pay the full tuition. *fingers crossed*

Back to work for me! Oh, but before I go, what's an EOIP .. EIOP .. whatsit? I think I've got most of the Ya Ya talk translated, but I can't figure that one out.

Equal Ignoring Other Posts, Emu Initiate Oposite Positions....I had a whole list made up one time but can't think of any today!!

Basically it equals a ME post! use it when you have no time to ketchup or you don't feel like ketching up! We owe homage to Elaine for that one!!

snow has melted off the streets. It is up to 22 degrees now (F not C!) I'm going to make some peanut butter cookies for my brother and then maybe get to my spritz cookies!
back later

tara

Suzanne, I am happy that you had a great time enjoying those lights. Feel better.

Liz! Welcome to the world. A DVD player too! Now I wonder what you will be getting for Christmas. I do get my RnR as needed. When I crash, I do a good job of catching up for sure.

RM, ok, no more weather complaints. Glad you enjoyed your friendship time.

Kristy, at least you have tutors here in Ya Ya world that can help you next semester as well. I know we can roust up someone somewhere to give you a hand. I am language illiterate here, so sorry can’t be of any help. Next time we ever get to Cancun maybe we can DIS meet there so we can bring along interpreters.

Jeannie, Wow, homemade bagels! Well I get homemade too if I drive down to Bruggers Bagel store. That’s about as close as I’ll ever get to that. I am domestically challenged too.

Nancy, maybe Christmas should bring a new computer and DSL or Satellite connection for your household.

Karen, PD and prayers your way. Sleep lots and I hope it helps. (you know turn off and reboot)

Elaine, thanks for that explanation. You know, Ted and I strolled past that Santa in DtD and thought of stopping by for a visit too. I know if you guys were with us, we would have done so! It would have been fun. Oh well, Santa won’t know what I want now. I use the menfolk for the snow/blower thrower stuff. I just do what I like to with the snow. I don’t really mind what I do. If I wasn’t ok with it I would not touch it for sure. I use it as a form of exercise trying to be mindful of the dangers it poses.

Amanda, so details…who, what, where, when…Indianapolis—hotel pool? Oh so tempting.

Tara, Caroline…you know when I met Tara for the first time I heard her pronounce her name. I never knew…I always thought it was “tear—a” instead I find it is “tar—a” AND I also learned isyne4u is NOT “is—y—ne—4—u”, but rather “I—syne—4—u” tee hee!

I’m also making sugar cookies your way too! I’ve never done those, but thought it would be fun. Enjoy your day off, how great to be able to do that. Maybe we need to retire near you. You don’t get too cold, and not too hot I think.

TC, you are a saint for making it to the House yesterday! We have had similar issues with our family as you as far as calling to let you know all is well. I guess they figure they know they are ok, so what’s the deal. Sigh. Early quit, you go for it. Tomorrow does not sound like a fun day at all for you. So are you arranging a DIS meet to deliver the goods to Sherry?

Cookies! Someone is making cookies! Mmmmmmmm.

I am sooo overwhelmed this year with the holidays, I just can't WAIT for Christmas to be OVER!! :guilty: (Then I can get to the REAL worrying at hand - my WDW vaca!!)

BTW ~ thanks you to all my Ya-ya 'buds' for the XMas cards that I have been receiving over the last week or so....

Hey all,

I just got back from the doctors. He is concerned because this is progressing as fast as it did last Christmas so he put me on some heavy duty antibiotics and two inhalers. Im back at work but not sure how long Im gonna last today. Every joint in my body aches like a toothache. Im going home and right on the couch tonight. Dh is gonna do the running around for the kids that needs to get done for their school parties and all. I feel kinda bad because he is sick too.

Well I better get back to work. I took off an hour to go to the doctors and I need to get things done.

Hmmmm. DISmeet. Sounds like a plan. We should all get together at the Cheesecake Factory. You don't suppose that the stores will be crowded this week, do you?

And regarding sainthood. I am just making up for all those times that I was a rotten preacher's kid.

How about "Eat It Or Perish"?
"Each Item Over Priced"?

I'm sure that I could come up with a few more. Slow day at work. Liz might be right. I may not have totally recovered from my marathon drive home from WDW.
