I got the newspaper done - no housecleaning! :sad1: (Darn Steeler game yesterday!)

Now I am ready to crank out the invoices.

Freezing here, too. Actual temp is around 8º - wind chill is -10º. If anyone saw that 80 car pileup on I-80 on the national news tonight - that's about 15 or so miles from my house. Luckily, no deaths.

....well, DS is feeling MUCH better (still on meds), but now DH is getting a cough/sneezing/etc.... :guilty: I am EXHAUSTED from the cleaning/decorating/shopping/working/doctoring. . . Calgon, take me away.... :teleport:

Hmmm... no MVMCP pics from the 7th yet here... I hope so soon though!

Pam, actual temp here is 5º and we are about -13 with windchill at the moment. They dropped our low temp for over night to 2º but I wouldn't be shocked if we fall below zero as our skies are awfully clear out! I am currently in bed with a bunch of blankets... I suppose it is about time to get my down coat out. I didn't need it much last year... I wonder how bad next month will be.

Lily shoveled all day? She deserves a cookie! ;)

We're supposed to get snow here tomorrow. I am not looking forward to shoveling it.

JellyrollsKaren

Evening Ya Yas,

Man alive, is it cold here today! We went out to do the last of the Christmas shopping (well, it was *supposed* to be the last) without checking the temperature. Without the wind it wasn't so bad, but even a little breeze - brr! The evening news gave the temp as 0ºF with a windchill of -27! No wonder we thought it was brisk! :earseek: Winter can be over now, I think. On the plus side, I have now submitted all my applications/transcripts/supporting documentation/blood samples/retinal scans, so I can breath a bit easier on the grad school front. 'Course now it's jut a long winter of waiting.

Beth, congrats on the new apartment! It sounds like a good deal. Thanks for the grad school well-wishes. I'll have to see if I can find that song.

Nancy, if your son does decide to do the GRE, let me know if he'd like any advice (nosey me - heehee). I just wrote it in October, and it's still fresh in my mind.

Elaine, hope your congestion is decongesting!

lvs_eeyore, hope you're feeling better soon too (sorry, I don't have my names cheatsheet out!)

Lily, after today's weather U of Miami is looking sooooooooo good! Actually even at WDW earlier this month, after getting on the plane in Toronto in the sleet and getting out in Orlando to 85º, I said to my husband "You know, this is a definite point in favor of Miami!". ::yes:: Hope you didn't get too cold shoveling. Your mom sounds so sweet!

JRKaren, it was good chatting with you too. I will definitely try to get in there more often. 14 hours of OT is a lot in one week! Hope you can take some time to enjoy it soon.

Suzanne, hope you guys have fun looking at the WDW Christmas decorations. Make sure you see the carousel in the Beach Club. That thing was really amazing.

Kimmar, glad to hear your DS is on the mend. Hope your DH doesn't pick anything up though!

Ok, I'm off to cuddle under a blanket, I think. I wonder if I could do my thesis on a weather controlling machine. :teeth:

What is this "snow" you people speak of?

And what's this nonsense about temperatures that start with a "-"???

Ya-Yas are an interesting bunch...

Good evening all!!

Sorry to hear ya'll are getting snow. They THINK we are getting some snow tomorrow so all the weather geeks are beginning to salivate and twitch!!! You just mention snow around here and folks start going nuts!!

Our temp tomorrow morning for bus duty is supposed to be around 5 degrees with the wind chill...but I don't believe them. I think it will be 75 and balmy!! hehehe

We don't get outta school until Thursday! But hey we do only have to go 1/2 a day....well they call it half a day when we get out 2 hours early. The rest of the cities around us got out on Friday

It sounds like everyone is having a good weekend. glad to hear it.

Beams of Light...do you pronounce your name "carolin" like with the shorte "i" or do you say "carolInE" with the long "I"? I have to pronounce your name the correct way in my head!! hehe Oh and sorry about the "weather geek" remark!! :)

We baked sugar cookies (with pilsbury's help) and we made homemade snickerdoodles!!, we saw Christmas lights, we went visiting, and saw Santa Clause as you can see here!

You would never believe that Ethan had been woken up from a deep sleep in order to sit with Santa. He wasn't even fazed at the Jolly old elf!

Well, gonna browse the cb before I go to bed!! Have a great evening and enjoy your snow!
tara

Card thanks you to Nancy, Beth and Dave, Kimmie, Todd and Amanda, Sherry, RoseMary, Pam—that pic is darling, and Liz—thanks for the ornament.

Oh Tara, your Santa pic is so cute! I love seeing that.

KathyTX, you don't want to know and especially about that minus stuff. You are not missing a thing.

Pam, great the deadline is met. Yes, we did catch that on the news. My DS was on his way home from PA trip and my Mother was concerned about that news story. What a mess.

Kimmar, glad DS is getting better. Hope it doesn't get to bad for DH and not passed around for the holidays.

Elaine, what did you do to get yourself so tired about the wrestling story taping? I missed something I guess. Stay warm.

JRKaren, if you get what we just had, dig in. It is still snowing here. DH made cookies tonight and yup! I couldn't resist.
 Oh so good.

Caroline, glad that the big job is done. Hope you get the one you want.

I don't want to go to work tomorrow. I really do not.

Evening. We're back from WDW and the viewing of lights in Shangri La, the community a mile up the road. It was 50 tonight (please, no snowball throwing), so it made it feel like it might be Christmas. Actually, as soon as we walked into MGM, I said to Ed that it finally feels like Christmas with the crowds and the decorations.

EIOP, just wanted to say good night...but I have to say, Tara, that you've got one adorable baby and an awfully cute boy there!

Suzanne

Well it is true!! I have finally entered the year 2004!!!! I have DSL, own a car that is from this century and today I got a DVD player!! Whoo Hoo!! So I guess you can tell, I am watching movies tonight!! I have 4 t chose from.....Shrek 2, Calendar Girls, A Cinderella Story and Elf. So I guess that should keep me busy for a while!!

NEWSALERT!!!! New antenna toppers now at Disney...Chritmas Stitch, Nemo and Piglet!!!! I have an order in for a few Stitches.......just have to see if I can get a few Piglets too!!!

Hi all!
Just wanted to pop in and say "I will never complain about the cold here" after hearing about all that SNOW! Ick! (someone please remind me I promised that)
Had a really nice afternoon. Went to see A Series of Unfortunate events, very good. And a ton of previews for movies that sound great.
Then to my friend's house, who was out on the road working with me. She and DS enjoy the same video games, movies, books and has adopted him as her little brother. We watched a movie, ate chinese and they played video games.
Hope all you northerners are under the blankies and staying warm for the night. Actually the high for tomorrow here is 46 with a low of 22, brrrrrr.
I thought I was in Florida ?!

Liz, I got the Disney Store Nemo, is that the one you're talking about?

Also got my Indiana Jones topper, woohoo!

Not sure, but I am assuming it is!! Greg's brother just called to tell me he bought be a bunch of toppers I did not have.........like Nemo, Piglet, a Thanksgiving Turkey and Stitch in a Santa hat. Of course I did not tell him I had all but Stitch and Piglet......I would hate to be the bearer of bad news....especially after he already bought them. So I guess I will have duplicates!!!! You can never haver too many toppers....in my book anyway!!

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Sheesh...I really have to get in here more often....

WOOHOO Liz has a DVD player now. I hope you're enjoying the movies. Out of those four my fav is either Shrek 2 or Calendar Girls. CG is SO funny!!! Glad to hear that you're feeling better too!

Beth you are one BUSY woman. I honestly don't know how you do it...and remain to stay positive at the same time. Can you give me lessons? :)

YAY Nancy is all done with the cookies and baking. Congrats to Geoff on the pay raise.

Elaine...what's this about filming? Sorry I completely missed those details.

Rose Mary it's so good to see you around again. Yes..I agree...they can all keep the snow up where they are. We'll stay warm down here.

Lily, just call in a mental health day tomorrow. teheheh :) First half of next semester is Spanish 1, then Spanish 2 for the second half. Thankfully it's NO MORE numbers to crunch :)

Tara that is the most adorable picture of Ethan, Jarrod and Santa. Ethan is growing so fast.

Night Suzanne...hope you get some rest!

LOL now now JRKaren...how many times do we have to tell you...burning Liz's toosh is not the way to make her give up the chocolate :duck:

Caroline welcome aboard!! Good Luck with Grad school and feel free to vent here anytime.

YAY Pam's done with the paper deadline. What's on your plate for this week? How the heck is gunny doing? Is he still up to no good?

Kimmar

well...that was my quick 2 page run through....sorry to anyone I missed. Hope you all have a great Monday..and I'll see ya on the flip side of things. :moped:

Just popping in to say 'Hi'.

SO tired. :charac2:

I can't believe I'm watching this CBS Hallmark movie-it's so sappy. But the Hallmark commercials make me teary!

TO show up my lack of baking skills, my dear dear husband made BAGELS FROM SCRATCH. I mean, pounding out the dough, dropping them inboiling water, brushing on egg whites and popping them in the oven-WTH???? :earseek: I might get some pillsbury bake and break tomorrow and try to pass them off.

Saw Lemony Snicket-beautiful art direction! But darn it-stupid people only used Jude's VOICE-I mean, DUUUUUH.

Night-night.:)

BTW, Liz, When did your tag change to "Wants to be just like JR Karen" ?

LOL!!!

Suzanne

:wave2:

Spent the day doing laundry, watching TV, and baking a cake. :)

It is a cold one here, too. 9 degrees. Brr!

New toppers? Oooh! I gotta check that out.

Enjoy your DVD and movies, Liz. I love Elf. :teeth:

Poor Jeannie......wasn't it enough to hear Jude's voice? :teeth: :duck:

Tara that is such a great picture of the boys with Santa and you Santa looks great too. We usually have a odd looking Santa who goes for the causal look not the whole red suit and some kind of bouffant hair do thing going on. I had the boys pics taken with Santa at DtD this year and there was no line. NO LINE. I couldnt believe it. Santa at Disney in Dec and no line to see the guy.

HI....I miss being on more :( Waa!!

No "-" temps here either.....I think we almost made it to 50 today :sunny:

If anyone happens upon a Piglet and/or Stitch topper, please grab me one...pretty please :)

Caroline, glad your applications are done. Good luck on that. I will pass along your offer to Geoff. Since M'Cori is majorly occupied with school for 2 1/2 more years, he might as well do it now.

Jeannie....I was going to send you some good, easy cookie recipes, but, but.....STUPID computer!!

We went and saw Flight of the Phoenix today. I liked it a lot.
Jeannie.....Jude has been a busy fellow lately. Lotsa stuff out.....and most you see him ;)

Okay...that's all I can remember....takes too long to look back  I sure hope Geoff can get my computer going.
Oh....my scrap book room is coming along. It has a wall!! Need a door now and then it will be my turn to take over and add the rest.

BIL came home from the hospital yesterday :bounce: That has been one long haul.

Night everyone.....

Nancy,

We are now headed back on Wednesday to go to Animal Kingdom (that Travel Channel show is gonna be the death of me!), and I've got plans for shopping. If they're available, I'll get them!

I need to go to sleep, but I need this blasted cough medicine to kick in! If I lay down, I'll just cough and cough. I've gotta be up in six hours. Eeek!

Nitey night.

Suzanne
