Good morning! And Happy Thanksgiving!!

RM...may have gotten the traveling roadkill....but Pam's package is still out there  ;)

We're headed out to see National Treasure and then to dinner at the casino's buffet :)

Elaine, feel better.

Everyone have a great day!

Turkey is being turkeyed. Table is almost ready. Side dishes are being readied. I get a break. We won't eat until about 4:00 here.

I went out this morning in the sleet and snow to do a 5 mile walk. It was a lovely way to start off my day.

JRKaren, I understand completely. That is why we are here at home. Enjoy whatever it is you can find to relax yourself with as you get a break from it all.

Awww you guys with your TG wishes. Thanks and come here it's time for :grouphug:.

I too really am happy to have found this great group!

 Karen. And you are right about the Thanksgiving routine...... although DH did "red" up the table and then his brother, Mom, and I did all the dishes, while everyone sat around and snoozed or watched football.

Nancy - I take it that the traveling roadkill is the special present I sent you last year.;) I have never been able to find another one.:(

Actually - my box is quite "tame" this year.:teeth:

Ahhhhh dinner is over and the in-laws are gone! It cant get much better :teeth:

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I had an enjoyable relaxing day today. It was unseasonably warm here today, so I took a walk. After my walk, I decided to have nachos for lunch (not that nutrious, but it was my relaxing day, so I did what I wanted). Helped my dad put the Christmas lights up. Cleaned up my room a bit. Played the Sims 2 for a while. Had steak tips and salad for dinner, and tonight, I'm going to watch Will & Grace and then Starski and Hutch.

Hope everyone else had a good Thanksgiving :)

JellyrollsKaren

Hi all... back from my grandmother's. Never a truly enjoyable day there. Hard to explain, but it made a few family members happy and I didn't have to cook anything :p

I am doing a lot better than yesterday. A little tired and a little out of it, but I am sure all will be fine if I keep at doing nothing ::yes::

The drive was awful there... we had snow this morning and there were some *really* slick spots on the road. Fortunately the roads were salted and much better when we left.

Going to have to talk with the in-laws soon. I hope you all are having a great day!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!

Just got back from my ILs. We went out to dinner at 1:00 and then back to their place where we hung out until just awhile ago. We were going to go back out to dinner with them but we couldnt find any place open LOL. Soooooooo on our way home we bought our christmas tree!!! It is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I so love a real tree. Dh is out there pruning it and cutting off the very bottom. I cant wait to have it set up!!!! As soon as we are finished with that I will heat up the turkey and we will sit down and eat something. I knew right about now we would start getting hungry again.

I am so thankful for all of you. You make me smile!!!

::yes:: Yes Pam, that roadkill was your special present you sent me last year :teeth: I thought we should spread the joy...and the smell  and have it be a perpetual Yaya gift ;)
So.....in spring, we will see where it goes ;)

Movie was good......food was good. Ate way to much as usual.
Had pumpkin pie and pumpkin ice cream Yum!

Elaine, glad you are feeling better.

Off to watch Survivor :teeth: See ya later.

Settling down now. Brother left a bit ago. DSs left to visit their friends. Ted is tired and heading off to watch TV and nod off. I am not sure what I want to do. DS bought me the newest Harry Potter dvd. I think I will watch that.

Karen sounds like a great day there!! Have fun setting up your tree. I am quite pleased with how ours turned out. Nice and bright :teeth:

Nothing wrong with eating way too much, Nancy. I admit, I have never been one to get stuffed on Thanksgiving and my family tells me I am UnAmerican because of that. So I hope y'all ate tons for me.

Lily, enjoy Harry Potter... we watched that last night. Save one scene, very cute ::yes::

Well, good news, my package was finally scanned at the final destination and it showed up today when I checked. It says it was attempted to be delivered & notice was sent, however, I think given where it was sent, that would be the "normal" response. So go check your PO, y'all ;)

Evening all.

It was nice spending the day with mom. We got our wires crossed and she made stuffed baked potatoes and I made cheddar twice baked, but more potatoes are ALWAYS a good thing! It was great just having to fuss with just the side dishes.

Online to check for the few christmas gifts I have to get. This year's a light year. Thanks to buying Azkabahn and bringing it over to my mom's, we've got my stepdad hooked. He was trying to tape the DVD's the kids brought over today. Macrovision prevented it-so now we know what to get him for Christmas! Woohoo, he's pretty hard to buy for.

Off to bed...gotta get up by 8 to make my sloppy joes for potluck.

Suzanne

The tree is up and all watered. It's so full and pretty. I love it!!! I cant wait to decorate it tomorrow!!!

I have KILLER heartburn though from a Chambourd and Champagne Cocktail that I made for dh and I to go with dinner. Im in good company though because dh has it too LOL!! Dinner was nummy!!! I made the turkey this morning and just heated it up tonight and it was still moist and flavorful. It was so special to have a Thanksgiving dinner with just my little family. What a great day!!!

Morning Ya Yas!
I don't know what all I get to do today. I may go to see what all the fun is about at those Black Friday Malls.
More likely it will be usuall house stuff.
Now to get my first cuppa going...

Morning all! Slept in this morning and loved doing so!

Betty, a very Happy Thanksgiving to you as well :)

Suzanne, in my house, there is no such thing as too much potatoes ;) Glad you figured out what to get your step dad! My own dad is hard to buy for!

Karen, we want pics of your tree all full and lush :teeth:

Lily, I was thinking of going to the mall later as well. I decided that the silver shoes are going to be worn with my dress and I need to find a good nail polish color. I am hooked on OPI, and they are only sold at a couple places near by (that I know of)... all in the mall too

I'm back from my one and only trip out to the store on this fine Black Friday. Yikes. I've never seen so many angry and upset people in my entire lifetime. It was worse that trying to find a good spot to watch Spectromagic. ::yes::

I'm going back to bed. This getting up early during a holiday routine is really starting to grate on my nerves.

I spent my Thanksgiving morning helping my friend Barry and his family pack the remainder of their belongings into a rental minvan and bid them a tearful farewell as they head for their new home in Greenville, SC. They called us at 7AM Thursday and asked for our help. We spent the next 4 hours shoehorning the remainder of their belongings into the rented minivan and their family car. They filled two moving vans with 25 tons (yes, I said tons) of personal belongings. And they still had too much stuff to fit into their vehicles. So it looks like I will be stopping by on my drive down to WDW next Friday. It's an hour out of my way, but we just couldn't fit those last two or three (or four or five) boxes into either of their vehicles. I guess that it's a good thing that I'm taking our minivan to WDW.

I'm beat. Sue has to work today. I'm taking a nap. Maybe I'll watch Harry Potter 3 again.

Morning everyone. Glad to hear that everyone, so far, had a nice Thanksgiving. I made it through even with bad sinus/allergies. I had my doughts I would get it all done, but it all went well. We had 34 guests. My sister is having it rough with Mom gone and Dad not coming didn't help. My Mom would have been upset with the way my sister was. I just kept thinking how Mom kept going till the end, attending every holiday knowing it would be her last. I figured she would want us to do the same. I am taking my Dad his dinner today since he wouldn't answer the phone yesterday. He will usually answer for me, but I figured he wanted to be left alone. He just called and said he went to bed early last night.:( We called at 6pm.

Skipped the sales this morning. Figured I needed to rest with the sinus/allergies. My sister picked a couple items up for me. I am staying away from the stores today, which isn't usually the way I am. I am typically in the lines with a cup of hot chocolate ready to go by 4:30am.

Todd and the girls put our tree up yesterday. They did a great job.

I think I will bum around the house today, rarely get to do that.

Hope everyone finds great deals today.

Suzanne...we have atleast 2 types of potatoes.

Lily...hope you enjoyed the DVD.

Elaine...good luck shopping for the nail polish.

TC...great that you were able to help a friend.

John, that was so nice of you to help out your friend like that. I guess your minivan trip will be really handy for them. I hope all goes well with the move for them! Oh and I read your post about Best Buy... omg, that was awfu... glad you wound up with the DVD player though! Get some rest.

Amanda, sorry that yesterday was so hard on y'all  Every year has gotten a little easier here... well last year was a major set back for me, but I can understand what you all are going through. I am so sorry your Dad didn't join you yesterday. My prayers are with you all. Sorry that your sinuses kept you from shopping. I hope you are feeling better soon.

And now I am going to play the part of a mean wife... going ot wake Luis up so I can start some cleaning in here.

Morning Everyone!!

Up early this morning and to the docs for bloodwork already. Now Im sitting down to my first cuppa coffee. Dh has an echocardiogram at 9:45 so it will be up and out again shortly. I may go get some christmas decorations for the tree today but not sure I want to brave the crowds. We are meeting my ILs at a park at 1:30 so the kids can play and have a good time. LOL so much for my quiet holiday weekend. Thankfully we dont have childrens choir tomorrow so we can sleep in and just laze around.

Amanda Im so sorry your dad and sister are having such a hard time with the holidays. Your'e right though your mom wouldn't want either one of them acting the way they are.

TC what a sweetie you are for helping your friends out like that. Get a good nappy in.

Welp off to the laundry room to see if we still have our angel tree topper. We have used a very very small fake tree for a couple of years and I have kinda lost track of our christmas stuff LOL!!

Hello everyone, the most glorious thing happened when I arrived home from my traditional day after Thanksgiving shopping trip! There was a box waiting for me on the kitchen table from our very own Pam! Yes, my exchange package arrived, and it is awesome! The smaller items were stuffed in a beautiful stocking.

Here's what I got:
*Two nutcrackers to add to my collection
*An adorable Santa picture frame
*Pig wind charms
*A Rudolph pin
*Shrek 2 Crazy Hair and Magic Potion candy
*Hershey's limited edition peppermint Swoops
*A Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt (which will be going in the laundry so I can pack it for my trip next week)
*An adorable snowman mug with two packs of hot cocoa
*My very own microphone so I can perform with Scotty and Ray
*A hysterical Christmas ornament of a reindeer driving a SUV with a hunter tied up and attached to the hood
*And a wonderful picture of Pam and her family :)

Thank you, Pam! You are my new favorite person!
