Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone...
Sorry I haven't been on much lately...
DIS burnout has taken a toll...
Dropped out of OE then just now got back in..:o
Have to say Survivor last night was awesome & Amazing Race...Love it!!!..
Amanda has the Clay Christmas CD in her posession for a St. Nick gift to herself...:jester:
Take Care everyone & be safe..:wave2:

Karen - wow! I'm shocked your package arrived so soon! I just mailed it out on Wed.!:D

Glad you liked everything! I tried to keep it "tame", although I couldn't resist that ornament!!;)

We had a heck of a time navigating through Pittsburgh to get that t-shirt!:o The first week we missed the turn and DD refused to turn around, we are country folk and get pretty freaked by the traffic. The boys and I went to pick up DD from college on Tuesday and she had figured out how to get us to Station Square.

I noticed when I was boxing up your package that both nutcrackers had guns! Must be a subconscious act for me.:rotfl:

TC - I read your post about Best Buy! I have never hit the Black Friday sales. Years ago, when the kids were younger, my Mom and I would take them to the mall on Monday (Deer Hunter Widow's shopping!) We were just talking about that yesterday - we were nuts - thousands of people with screaming, crying children! :o

 Amanda. I hope you Dad feels better. I believe like you, our loved ones want us to carry on and live and love and laugh.

KarenA - your tree sounds lovely.

Elaine & Lily - don't clean! Go watch a pirate movie or something.pirate:

Suzanne - I looooooove potatoes!!!

I don't know about the rest of you - but I'm heading over to Nancy's for leftovers.:hyper:

Hey - Betty was here, Betty was here!! Hi, Betty!

Morning!

Had a great Thanksgiving. Didn't get home last night until midnight, though, and in bed until after 1. Got up at 5:58 to get Junior a 1GB Jump Drive that was on sale at CompUSA.com, then went back to bed and slept until 10. :bounce:

Gonna head out to a few store's this morning. I really would rather stay home, but there are a few good sales that I'm gonna try to get in on. If everything hasn't been picked through.

Amanda, I hope your dad feels better...and you, too.

JRKaren, sounds like a great package. :bounce:

No shopping for me today. There wasnt anything that I just had to have and when I woke at 5am I decided I'd rather stay in bed so I did. However I do have to go to the mall at 11 today because I have to drop Michael off. I hate sending my baby out into the sea of frenzied holiday shoppers as some of them can be a bit on the nasty side :(
Now Michael wants to go to Orlando with me. Still looking to see if it would work out or not.
JRKaren--sounds like Pam really knows how to send out a great package. I bet the hunter ornament is to cute.
Good to see you pop in Todd!
Elaine are you waking him to help you or waking him to clean the room he is in. I vote for waking to help you :)
Everyone else have a good weekend!!

Taking a break from cleaning... oh how I wish I could watch a pirate movie instead ;) but I really need to get this all taken care of before I leave. I am having to go through tons of old clothes to see waht I can and can't get away with wearing at WDW. I may not get through all the laundry this weekend and next week, but I will at least get it down to the basement and sorted.

I found an old pair of jeans that I fit into probably about 5 or so months ago, if not less than that... I had given away all my other pairs of size 14 jeans, except for this pair (couldn't find them at the time). Well I tried them on today... I nearly cried. Luis said I should keep them and any time I start beating up on myself for how I look, I should try them on. He's proud of me for what I did (am doing) for myself. I happen to have a progression of all Tommy jeans (same cut) from 14s down to 8s, and we laid them one on top of the other... amazing.
I don't mean to brag, or shove something in someone's face right now (especially during the holidays when eating a lot is normal) but I figured at least some of you might understand how that would feel. For the first time, I actually "saw" the change.

Anywho...

Karen, best wishes to your husband today. I hope all goes well with that test.

JRKaren, sounds like Pam did a wonderful job with her exchange as well ::yes:: The ornament sounds hilarious!

Pam, I might have to join you with getting those left overs ;) We have none here since we ate away

Sherry, I am heading to the mall later today. Fortunately I am going for things that I don't care if are on sale or not. Just a couple little things I need for today & tomorrow.

Actually I need to get a move on. I have to be at Kevin's at 2 and I want to at least get all the old clothes out of the closet by noon and downstairs. Then I can deal with vacuuming and cleaning the bathroom tonight.

Enjoy the day all!

Good morning!

Ummm...Nancy doesn't have any leftovers!! :teeth: We went out to eat ;)

The package sounds wonderful JRKaren! Sounds like Pam did well again :teeth:
Who's next??

Enjoy relaxing everyone.

 Amanda.

I get to go to the grocery store and bank today.....that is the extend of my black Friday shopping! No way would I venture out. I don't want anything that bad.
It was bad enough navigating the mall crowds on a weekend.

Christin does get to work today.....but she has the late shift :) I do think she snagged us a Mickey snowglobe though (they stashed some for themselves on Tuesday ;) ).

:wave2: to everyone.

Elaine I think you are just (and should be) very proud of yourself. Losing weight is very hard and its great to the progress that you worked very hard for
Just because I had 2 desserts that went straight to my hips.....;)

Nancy - you may have gone out to eat - but I know you have yummy food in that refrigerator of yours!::yes::

Elaine - well, yes.... I do hate you for losing all that weight.....;) No, seriously, you are not bragging at all - you accomplished something great, you made a goal, you stuck to it and you look absolutely fabulous!:bounce: You should be very proud of yourself!:D

Deena - oh boy - your baby has to work at the mall on Black Friday!:( I skipped the sales, too. I did a bunch of online shopping over the weekend and then finished up at LL Bean (you all knew I'd be ordering from there, didn't you.....) on Tuesday. Now I am just waiting for the packages to arrive.

It's very cold here. Gunny is bugging me for a walk - I told him to go bug DS!:teeth:

Elaine you should be very very very proud of yourself. You have worked hard for what you have done and it's wonderful that you got a real visual on what you have accomplished. YEA FOR YOU!!!!!

Went and got some stuff at the dollar store to decorate the tree. Who knew they had such nice stuff??? I also got a beautiful tree skirt and an angel for the top of the tree at Ross. We had an angel but it had one of those bubbler things on it and I just wasnt crazy about it. Now I wish we didnt have to go with the IL's. I wanna decorate the tree which will be in blue and gold.

Pam, are you sure you went tame. I heard a rumor about a stinky package that had an unidentified liquid pouring out of it addressed to me at the post office ;) Just kidding :) Thanks for your efforts to get the Hard Rock shirt! I love it :) I now have Hard Rock shirts from Pittsburgh, Boston, Orlando, Las Vegas, Washington DC, New York, and Montreal. I think I may have one or two others, but I can't remember.

Karen, glad you got some stuff for your tree! I'm sure it will look beautiful :)

Elaine, congrats on the weight loss! That's awesome. It's great that you see the difference :)

Nancy, the stores around here weren't as bad as I expected. I went to Macy's here, and there had been $10 coupons in the paper with no minimum amount to spend. There were tons of people using them, and some long lines formed, but I just walked until I found a line with three or fewer people in it (usually there was one just a thirty second walk away). Hope you get your JC Penney Mickey snowglobe :)

Deena, so now there is a possiblility that four great boys would really be at Disney with you? Wow. That would be cool :)

Sherry, hope you have some luck with your shopping today.

Todd, good to see you here. DIS Burnout? What's that? Of course, we are all going to get a DIS break this weekend. What are we going to do with all our free time?

John, glad you got your items at Best Buy! I was going to go there, but Best Buy is always the worst for lines, so I decided to skip it. I got my memory card for my digital camera at Staples instead.

Hello to everyone else! Can't wait to start hearing about more of the exchange packages! I hope my package makes it to my person today :)

JellyrollsKaren

Wow I took Michael to work and stopped at Toys R Us and was in and out in about 2 minutes. Snagged 2 drs kits--they were 9.99 on sale for 4.99 and bought 2 gameboy advanced video's and got 1 free--not to bad.

Elaine. You mean to tell me that clothes don't naturally shrink as they get older and that I am actually GAINING weight. Eeeek. I owe DW Sue an apology. She does all the laundry and I keep scolding her for shrinking all my pants and shirts. And here it was me all along.

You have a lot more will (or won't) power than do I. Congrats on the shrinkage.

Very quick hi here... first of all thanks everyone for taking what I said the right way. I hate bragging, but the whole jeans thing was shocking to me!

I have to fly but before I go (and the boards go down), I got my wonderful package from Lily!!!!

* Eucerin hand lotion (great & non-greasy, at least from the little I tried I think it is)
* Peppermint Tea (my fave!)
* A cute little Pooh Stocking (how did you know mine got lost)
* A cute little wooden sleigh with candy beneath
* A lime green guardian angel pin :teeth:
* Christmas M&Ms (half have to be green, right? ::yes:: )
* A chocolate angel
* A cute banner with an agnel on it
* Two books; Angel Creek and The Christmas Angel (which has a Manheim Steamroller DVD in it as well... can't wait to see/hear that one!)
* A ornament shaped spiced flavored candle from B&BW
* A lime green colored bell with angel on top ornament

So thank you soooo much Lily!!! I love it all!

Since the boards will likely be closed when I get home, much love to you all! I will see you when they come back up ::yes::

Yay....more packages have arrived.

Do we know when the boards are going down?

Pam...sorry, there are no leftovers here....and nothing very good to ear. Well, Christin does have some junk food.....want breakfast hot pockets or chicken nuggets?? ;)
We're "trying" to diet ;)

If I don't get back.....see ya all when the boards return, which hopefully won't be too long.

Hello, Hello!! Whew!! I think I actually finished my Christmas shopping!! I hit Best Buy and could not believe I had to wait in the line that snaked back and forth through the large appliance department! Couple of Compact Flash cards, couple of DVDs and I waited a good 45 minutes just to check out! Fooled around in the mall for awhile, treated myself to getting my hair done, and had some lunch. Oh, and I FINALLY got my Clay Aiken Christmas CD! :bounce:

Went to see Polar Express yesterday and I loved it! Dave said it was just OK, but I really enjoyed it. Had turkey dinner at Cracker Barrel and the sweet potato casserole and the pumpkin streusel-topped pie was a real treat!! Turkey was good too!

Thought the boards were going down early this morning, but I guess we're all still here for awhile.

YAY!!! More exchange packages!!! I just love hearing what everybody else received! Sounds like both Pam and Lily did good!!!

Laine, my dad swore by that Eucerin lotion--he absolutely loved it. Never tried Peppermint tea, but I've heard it's a good relaxer and sleep inducer. Have a great time at the wedding this weekend! You have every good reason to be proud of your weight loss accomplishment, too. Strut your stuff, girl, you earned the right!!!

Yes, Karen, that was tame for Pam!!! Why, one year, she had Animal Control deliver her exchange package!! j/k--we love our Pammy!!! And you WILL be bringing your new microphone to WDW next week, won't you?!!

Pam, that was really brave of you to try not just once, but TWICE to get that T-shirt for Karen!! Oh, and some of us "city-folk" shop at LL Bean, too. Their turtlenecks are my absolute favorites!!

Karen, your tree sounds wonderful! Pictures, please, please!!! I hope it lasts till Christmas, now. We were lucky to get ours to last 2 weeks when we used to get live trees. Isn't it amazing what great stuff you can find at the dollar stores, now?! Glad you were able to find a ne angel for the top, too. I know it just doesn't look right to me if my tree doesn't have an angel on top!

Don't worry, Deena, we can set another place at the table at 50s Prime Time if Michael does end up coming along. We'd love to see ALL 4 great boys of yours!!

Sherry, ya had me so curious, I actually stopped into the Yankee Candle store today. And you are absolutely right--that Cranberry Chutney is sooooo yummy!!!! I just HAD to pick up a couple of votives. Now, let's just hope it's not a scent that will set Dave off

Hi, Todd!! I can empathize with that DIS burnout. I get a touch of it every now and then, myself.

hug.gif
for ya, Amanda. Glad to hear you made it thru the TG madness and are still in one piece. Glad you can take time to just relax and recoup today.

Nancy, your 'fridge sounds like mine. Not much in there that's any good for eating.......I do have a couple of cans of refrig. biscuits, though. And some yogurt smoothies dated Nov. 8th. Think they are still any good??

Gonna hafto go look for John's Best Buy thread, since I got caught there, myself, today. Later, all!!!

According to WebmasterAlex, the boards are scheduled to go down sometime between 6:00 and 8:00 eastern tonight. What are we going to do without the DIS for 24-48 hours. I'm going to be forced to clean and pack! Yikes!

Everyone have a good weekend in case I don't make it back on again before the boards go poof for a bit.

JellyrollsKaren

The boards are back. The boards are back. What does everyone think?

JellyrollsKaren

Oh, I like the quick reply option. Now, it doesn't have to open a new page to reply to a thread. Just click on the quick reply button in any post, and it lets you type it down the bottome. I like that :)

JellyrollsKaren

Ahh good... after my shower I can finally post here again.

Not sure of the boards yet... if I like it or not. But who cares... change always happens here and I always get used to it.

Have the wedding to go to.

Luis can't find his blue suit. Gonna shoot him ;)

Can someone tell me where the smilies went to?? They were always off to the left hand side.... now I can't find them and I'm experiencing emote withdrawal...
