Evening all, finally caught up. Got a trip to Costco in a few, but figured I'd try to ketchup, although at 15 pages since my last ketchup, it's gonna be spotty.
Bethie, you've got a Steve and Barry's near you in Potomac Mills-nothing over 7.99. The last time I was in there they had a TON of Wisconsin stuff. I kick myself that I didn't go pick up the Charlie Brown tshirt they had. Ed is convinced he's Charlie Brown, and the yellow shirt would have been cute.
On a somewhat related note, in our house when things don't go your way, or we get a bad fortune cookie, we say "I got a rock". Still doesn't excuse giving them out for Halloween. I'd be one ticked mommy if I found them in my kid's bags.
JRKaren, you recouperated yet from your trip>
Those costumes were adorable-I'd have voted for Elvis, too. Jared has the same taste as Neil-who is already giving us his Christmas list
Some election-my stepdad actually went and voted this time. I pooped out at 11 this year-I usually stay up to watch the results until the wee hours of the morning. I liked the early voting option that we got here in Florida.
Okay, there just something WRONG with it being November and I'm sweating in shorts.
Tara, that countdown shows your trip is almost here...we should try to meet.
TC, mighty expensive fall there. A broken wrist set back a former employer about 10 grand...had to have it reconstructed and a graft from my hip.
Lainey, glad your dad is okay. I think the doctors don't think things through about withholding food/water to do a procedure sometimes. Yep, you're definitely a Belle to me.
Nancy, thanks for that pumpkin bar recipe. Those will probably be made for my store meeting.
Okay, I'm part of the weird dream club, but it's work stuff-and that music from the Boo to You parade is the soundtrack. I can't get it out of my head!
Not so Scary was lots of fun. We did go Thursday and Sunday. Thursday was much better crowd wise, but Sunday was better for the view of the fireworks and costumes. Ed and I didn't wear the costumes Thursday, but did on Sunday. It was unseasonably warm, so the Goofy costume only lasted three hours.
The Stitch ride was open. The attraction is basically the same. You go into the first holding area and watch a monitor that has the Grand Counselwoman welcoming the new security facility recruits.
The second holding area is nearly the same, the robot now has a uniform and the storyline now uses both tubes with the muppet like monster. The 'security officer' tells you a bit about level one and level two offenders, which you'll handed the level one (petty criminals). Then an alert comes through and Jumba Jukiba says they've got a level three offender and the recruits are needed.
You're ushered into the same room as mission to the moon/alien encounter. Here, Kevin expressed his typical dark ride fears, but I got him through it. As expected, Stitch is the level three, but Jumba thinks he's too cute and cuddly to be a level three. Like in the movie, stitch shorts out the guns trained on him, and power goes out. It's handled much more comedically than the previous attraction. Stitch steals a cell phone and a chili dog in the dark, then burps on you and you smell the chili dog.
Mayhem ensues and stitch at one points chants out "missed me, missed me, now you gotta kiss me". Again, while dark, the comedy lightened the mood, so I had no problems with the boys. I never would have considered taking them into the old ride.
Stitch is recaptured, of course, and now the boys are begging to go back on.
I'll post our family picture when we get it later this week.
Hi to everyone I missed...
