Suzanne, I don't recall the last time I had jiffy pop. Wonder if they have it around here... somehow I feel like watching that kind of thing pop :p As for the artwork, I can only imagine how happy you'll be once you get in the new home. This one will cause me to move one painting to another room... hopefully it will work :p

Nancy, I kind of figured about the painting. Honestly the one I saw (wherever I saw) was a HUGE tug at my heart... I am so in love with the castle... Cindy's my lady ;) But considering how much I've dropped into DVC lately, I doubt Luis would have gone for it. This'll do for now and it should match our room perfectly.

I know it wasn't terribly expensive, but I can't believe Luis said yes to it without balking at all. He came up to me after and said "Maybe I am a closet Disney freak, and just waiting for you to do it all" What a twit... oh and get this!!!! I mentioned something about tickets for Luis for this year at WDW, and said unless you plan on going back w/in a year, we might get the UPH since DVC gets a good discount. He said something to the effect of trips between now and next year... like he is joining me *NEXT* year as well!!!! I love this man ;)

Good for Luis!! He has seen the light.....and the more he goes, the more he will want to :)

Jiffy Pop....Boy Scouts used to take that on their trips.
Non of that here.....or micro wave either....icky!
Air popped for us ::yes::
LOL...I have a spare micorwave in the basement, Suzanne....come get it. If you miss it so much, the portable ones are very inexpensive.

Gotta go get dressed and finally get my bulbs planted.

I am wallowing in too much to do and too many things at once.
So, I have a melt down and come here.

Elaine, I still couldn't get the link. Will keep trying. DH is our Disney Dude and I can't tear him out of the Animation Art place each time we go. He has a couple of things in his collection that have spilled out of his room. Oh well, I love him.

I am still trying to convince him to come to the DIS.

Suzanne, sounds like you had a good time even though you created a monster. Great tip about Disney Dining. I never knew that.

Nancy, hope that you find that stinky.

Now I must go take Mom to search for drapes for her room. Still can't find the "right" thing.

Off to spend someone elses money!

Not sure what is up with that link... if you go to www.disneydirect.com and search for item # 95320-F44
It works for me most of the time... not others

Nancy, that's exactly what I am hoping for ;)

Lily, think you could get your husband to rub off on mine a little ;) Good luck with the drapes!

Luis threw in Blackhawk Down... both Orlando Bloom and Ewan McGregor (and in the same room at the same time... *sigh*)

:wave2:

Just kinda been vegging today. :teeth: Watching movies and TV. Did run to the library to get a few more movies and pick up a book I had reserved.

OSU won! :bounce: :bounce:

Hey all,

I'm worried about my dog. He has thrown up twice today and has had the runs three times. I don't know if it's from mixing his dry food with milk instead of water or if he got into something. I was mixing the food with milk because I was trying to get him to eat dry food and he won't eat it if you mix it with water. The last time he had an accident it looked to me that there was a tiny bit of blood in it. Dh looked and he said no it wasn't blood but probably the wet catfood he got into about an hour ago. Im freaking out and want to take him to the pet emergency center now. Dh wants to wait. He is eating and he is acting normally. I just don't know what to do. I don't want to overreact and spend money we really don't have but I also don't want to not go and have something really be wrong. I'm a mess right now.

Found something that would work in Mom's room, curtains and bed in a bag. Then realized it wouldn't work because the comforter required dry cleaning only. She can't handle that. So, back to the store to return it tomorrow. Meantime she found something at Brylanehomes catalog that will work as a bed in a bag and we keep the curtains. Whew I think.

Karen, hope doggie feels better. I am not sure about the milk thing. I think it is difficult for them to digest. You might try a bit of broth or something. Just don't give too much. Doggie will eat when he is really hungry. Now cats, they would starve first. Perhaps a call to the emerg. clinic would save some $ and you might get "free advice?"

Hi all!!!
Thought I'd drop in and try to catch up on everyone's lives while I have some time. Sorry I haven't been around. Just in one of those browse the boards and post here and there...but never really keep up with any particular thread.
I'm currently icing a sore and swollen ankle  That's what I get for going to the State Fair last night and then shopping for 5 hours today :)

So let's see....what have you all been up to??
*starting back at page 63:

Kimmar sorry that you're in mourning over the Yankee's losing. Congrats on your AKL rate..that's a great deal!

Lily good luck with your pictures being restored. You're gonna get so buff at the gym that I bet all the guys will be huffing and puffing trying to get your attention ;)

Nancy's been a mall rat....gotta love shopping :) Woohoo red pants..COOL. Yah...survivor just isn't great this season but I a couple of favorites that I'm rooting for. Good luck getting the heat fixed and finding out what the smell is.

Thanks Beth  back to ya :) Hope you're having a GREAT weekend away!!

JRKaren YAY...your trip is going great. How cool that you saw Andrew at Jellyrolls.

Elaine *sending over one of my big blankies for your to cuddle in* I agree that it's bundling weather out there. Can't imagine what it's going to be like in Michigan when we go up for Thanksgiving...BURRRRRRRR

Suzanne cool info about the chefs meeting dietary needs. Isn't WDW just the greatest? :) LOL at the jiffy pop addiction. We're addicted to the Orville Redenbacher 94% free kettle corn. Whole bag is 5 points...YUM YUM

 P-Nut

 Towncrier

Pam hope you were able to get rid of your sinus headache.

Alan nice food trap ya got there ;)

Amanda....I love your siggie pics of the girls. They're so pretty and growing up so fast.

Todd...long time no see....how ya doing?

Tara....HI! oh no....I hope you start to feel better very soon! I'm going to go take a peek at Ethan's pictures when I hit send here. Love your new siggie pic...so CUTE. Now I really have to go see his new pictures.

Karen  sorry to hear that you had to cancel your trip and you're in my prayers. I'll keep your doggie in my prayers as well.

PHEW....think that's got it all.....you all are busy bee's :) ::yes::

Things around here are pretty good. I mentioned up top that I was shopping today....forgot to add that I was shopping with Amanda and little Dakota. Dakota is growing so fast. Can't believe she's almost 3 months old. While we were out today I bought a Dyson Animal vacuum..can't wait to get it put together. Also can't believe I plopped that much money into a vacuum.
School is going okay. I made a B on the first test and a C on the second one last week. I'll be SO happy when this semester is finished. That will be the END to my accounting requirements :Pinkbounc Next semester I'm taking Spanish 1 and 2 back to back so it'll be like taking them in summer school. Anyone here want to be my tutor? LOL

's to all....and I'll "try" to pop in from time to time.

P.S. When does the signups for the exchanges end?? I'm still thinking about it...just want to make sure I can handle the commitment.

Sherry, very happy here about Ohio State!!!!! The only bad thing is I am sure Luis is getting sick and he went to the game... rained a little there. Should be a fun week at home ;)

Karen, it's been faaaar too long since I've had a dog. I know actually a lot of cats are lactose intolerant and so I never give pets any dairy at all anymore. I know Cleo can have it, but never tried it with Gwenie. I wouldn't ever give a pet milk at this point. Have you tried putting broth instead of water in the food? You could probably just get some boulon powder and mix it in with hot water and pour it over the food. Is there any reason why he can't eat the food dry anyway? I wouldn't worry yet though... at least with cats, my vet tells us to wait a day or so. And if the blood looks like it is on the outisde that isn't as much to worry about since it could be due to irritation/tearing from going so much (sorry for TMI). If it is mixed in, that's when I was told to really worry. Again this only comes from cats, so take it all with a grain of salt.

I typed all that to see that Lily said some of the same. Sorry about the comforter though. I hope tha tyou can find something that works. Of course now I wonder how many beds in a bag I've gotten that were supposed to be dry clean :o

Kristy, good to see you. I think you have until about mid week to decide on the exchange. Forutnatly here it has warmed up some. No jackets three days in a row :teeth:

Hey there.

I went to chat and I have calmed down a bit about the dog. He is acting normally, eating and drinking. Poor dh though has been sent out with the dog and a flashlight several times tonight though.

He wont eat much of the dry dog food no matter how long we leave it down. He actually went about 2.5 days before he even touched it even though I kept putting down fresh dry. He is a VERY fussy dog. The vet wants him on dry though because she is worried about his teeth using only wet food. What I saw looked red not tar like so it might have been irritation. I will NOT give him any milk from now on though. The bullion sounds like a really good idea though. He might go for that.

I and dh are keeping majorly close tabs on him though to make sure he is okay. I guess I freak out more with the dog than I do with the kids because kids can tell you what's wrong and my furbaby can't.

Kristy it is so good to see you!!! Sorry about your ankle. Prayers going out that it heals quickly for you.

Prayers going out for Luis also that he feels better very soon.

I'm currently icing a sore and swollen ankle

Hey Kristy. Take care of that ankle. We don't need any more gimpy ankles around here. I hope the ice works for you.

Karen, we had a touchy cat once... have you tried different brands? And sometimes switching a brand is better for the pet in the long run. We use Iams here for the cats and trust me, I can tell the difference in Cleo after we switched her. Costs more, but it makes something so much better for them.

:wave2: Hi John

Oh and Luis isn't sick... yet... actually I had a sneaking suspicion he wasn't feeling too hot yesterday and today. He's been rather snippy, and when I ask him what's wrong, he over compensates and acts like nothing is wrong. I can't explain it, but he is so cute about being sick. He won't admit it for days on end, yet he turns into a baby (so to speak). Tonight he fell asleep with a remote in his hand... and it was early too :p

back to my book... kind of determined to finish tonight :)

Evening yayas!

Karen, you're gonna think this is crazy, but...

Keep the wet if the dog will eat it, but also give the dog carrots as a snack (big ones). I adopted a 3 year old lab years ago that was overweight when I got him (96 lbs). Vet tells me two cups of dry a day-I thought that wasn't enough and that his weight was fine.

Off I went to the library for books on labs...Bear was supposed to be 70 lbs! The book mentioned labs are gluttons and for a low cal treat, give the dog carrots.

He LOVED them. We went through 5 lbs a week. The best part (and the part that helps you) is that he was scheduled for a scaling because he had really bad tartar buildup, and the carrots did such a good job on his teeth that we didn't have to put him through the cleaning. My vet then told anyone with dogs with tartar buildup to give them carrots a few times a week.

At the check up six months after I got him, he was down to 75lbs and had the shiniest coat I'd ever seen on a lab.

I know---very longwinded, but useful info!

I can't wait to get another dog--Bear was the best!

Suzanne

Hey, nice to see you Kristy. Sorry about the hurt ankle. Take care of it.

For Kristy and anyone else still thinking on the exchange......I will take names until Wed. night. That way the surveys can get filled out and back to me by Friday morning, so I can pass out names Friday afternoon :)
Hope you do decide to join in. There is a month to get it mailed out.

Karen......picky puppy. I agree....broth and try a different brand.

Finally got the bulbs planted today. 110 of them....can't wait for spring.

Hopefully the heater thing is fixed. DH removed about 25 gallons of water that had settled in the bottom over the summer

Nighty-night.

Morning Everyone,

Puppa seems to be fine. He ate twice last night and seems to be acting perfectly well. Maybe I was over-reacting.

We have tried several different brands with him, Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet, Nuturo, Natrapet, and Puppy Chow. He will have nothing to do with any of them. He will only eat Science Diet wet food. I am going to try the broth before going back to wet food again and Im going to call the vet first thing Monday morning and make sure carrots are okay to give the puppa with whats gone on this weekend. She might want me to wait a bit. He wont even eat crunchy dog biscuts but maybe if he thinks we eat the carrots he will eat them. Thank you for the suggestion Suzanne! He is only ten months old and they are already saying he is building up tartar. If the carrots remove it thats great!!!

I have been up since 5 AM, made coffee, made two batchs of rigitoni with ricotta, and started ribs in the crockpot for din din. Im now sitting down to my first cuppa coffee. We have a covered dish luncheon at church today hence the rigitoni with ricotta. I got dh up a 6:00 because the kids got up and he is now mad at me for getting him up. Heaven forbid he should have to do something!! Grrrr.

Nancy I hope the heater smell is fixed for you now. Ugh that must be a horrible smell. I know when we mistakenly turned on ours at work it smelled like burning hair. Ewwwwwww!!!!!

Morning! :)

Karen, glad to hear your puppy is feeling better.

Nancy, hope you get rid of that smell. 25 gallons?

Elaine, hope Luis isn't getting sick. Did you finish your book?

Kristy, good to see you! Take care of that ankle. :)

Gotta go jump in the shower and start getting ready for church! After church we're going to my inlaws to eat. :teeth:

Morning all, stubborn cat sitting on my lap. You'd think she'd be content to be there, but nope, pushy little twit has to try to push me around so she can get more comfortable :p

Suzanne, sounds like you loved Bear :) Do you have any real plans of getting a dog again?

Nancy, I hope that takes care of your stinky problem. And 110 bulbs? You put me to shame ;)

Karen, glad the pup seems okay now. Have fun at the luncheon.

Sherry, enjoy the meal at your in-laws!! Yep, I finished the book and I am so ready to get to the next one in the series. Sadly I do think Luis is sick... he sounds awful today. Wanna take bets as to when he finally relents and admits he's sick? :p

Gotta check in eleswhere and head to church.

Morning Ya Yas!

Elaine, glad that Luis is thinking he's fine. Maybe he isn't going to get it too badly.

Suzanne, so then are you getting another pup?

Nancy, hope DH found the problem and no more odors. You worked so much to plant all those bulbs. I can't wait to see the pics in the spring.

Karen, glad you had a good night with that puppy baby. We give our little dogs those mini carrots. They love them. Our tender mouth one takes a bit longer to get hers chewed, but she thinks it's candy so won't let the other have it. Our Missy, tender mouth baby, has had that unusually high tarter build up and nothing seemed to work. Even that all I ever feed is dry Nutro. She is 8 now and has had her first removal of teeth this last cleaning session. She is still eating the dry though, so I guess it's ok.

Sherry, no cooking for you today! Enjoy.

Washer is going, clothes are folded so now I'm going for my coffee pot.
