Well, I think boy toys are costly too.....we always spent the same on both of them.....and at least DD has kept hers
Lily...the cookies were okay. I'm always willing to share recipes. I would add more spice and more nuts though (and I would add chocolate chips....but I would add chocolate chips to almost anything

Pumpkin Walnut Cookies

1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup pumpkin -- cooked or canned
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 1/2 cups flour -- sifted
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1 cup walnuts -- coarsely chopped
Cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in pumpkin, vanilla, lemon peel and juice. Resift flour with baking powder, salt and spices. Blend into butter mixture. Stir in walnuts.
Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets 2" apart.
Bake 375 degrees for 12-14 minutes.
