Evening, yayas!

The baby shower was a success. Andy suffers from short term memory loss and totally forgot that he and his wife had been invited over for dinner. And I was worried that we'd somehow blow the surprise. Food turned out great, everyone stayed until past midnight! Best part is that there was a cleaner house and kitchen than there was the day before, lol.

So, I've got my schedule through 1/3/05...time to start planning the meeting with fellow yayas...I'm off Dec 6th and 7th. I think I'd committed to a Chef Mickey's/MVMCP on the 7th with y'all. Am I right? Who will be around on the 6th?

Gotta pack it in soon, but figured I would post tonight. Hugs to all, and if anyone wants a piece of yellow cake with apricot mousse, let me know-I've got plenty of leftovers!

My alarm didn't go off so me and two of the boys got an extra 1/2 hour of sleep. Thank goodness Julian isn't going to school this morning.........He leaves at 6:45.

Gotta take Julian to the dentist, run to Best Buy to pick up the new Duran Duran CD , get a new comforter that is on sale at Sears, and then get Jonathan from school and take him to the eye dr. I'm gonna need a nap!

Prayers for your BIL, Nancy. My friend had brain surgery in august. Had it done on Monday night and was home by Thursday afternoon. She then followed up with several treatments of radiation. Now they found a spot by her gland and she starts another round of chemo for 3 months. But she has such a positive outlook and can make ME laugh. She's quite a woman!

Sherry - poor Julian! Don't let that child play football!!

Lily - woohoo on the great job at your race!

Had a interesting trip..
AT Abrams Falls in Cades Cove there was this girl that showed up with 2 friends & stripped down to a bikini and did numerous poses in front of the waterfall...They would not get out of the way for anyone else to take pics...

SIL got into a HUGE fight with her DH(who was camping with us) & left...luckily she came back for him....

Thats the 2 biggies that I can think of right now...oh yeah, my brother gave us some scoop on how he's been doing(he rarely talks).It was good to get some bonding time..

Mrs. AA and I took Saturday evening through Monday afternoon for ourselves and went to a hotel in Birmingham, leaving the kids with friends and relatives!

We spent a lot of time in the Galleria (very large mall) Sunday and visited our first Build A Bear store.

That, as they say, was a mistake.......

Mrs. AA is already planning a birthday party in March for our youngest daughter there.

BIL made it through surgery. They say it went fine. He is in ICU.
Seems this may become a too-often occurance It goes back almost 30 years when he had brain cancer as a young man. All that radiation has taken its toll and his veins aren't in the best of shape.

Todd......hope you got some fun in.

Alan....ahhh...another gets the BaB bug

Sherry....sounds like a busy day.

Well I heated up a little bit of olive oil and then added the corriander (as usual)... well this time my spatula melted on me So since I didn't want the plastic to melt and then stick to my pot (wanted to avoid having to totally scrub the pan) I added some soap and was just about to put water in it. Well did y'all know that Dawn burns quickly, and when it burns it smokes badly and makes the entire kitchen smell of soap? Yeah, well I didn't So now, the meat is back in the fridge (still mostly frozen) and I suppose my dinner tonight will be those garlic-parmesean breadsticks I already made up!

I just hope the smoke clears before Luis comes home

Nancy, good news then for surgery results. PD that future is going to be ok. So, since I'm not eating the cookies I'm thinking maybe I can dream of them. What kind?

Todd, sounds like it was interesting. Glad you got in that bonding time. Hope there was much fun to be had too. PD that family fights have wounds healed and no bad comes from it.

TC, Elaine's got the good garlic bread recipe. We should include her path on this pot luck thing. I'll bring that apple dessert I showed the other week.
