Hey all,

Just got back from the doctors. As expected I got a good talking to. I told him what I did Saturday....ummmm minus the truck part....I got told off in spades enough for what I did tell him. He has changed my daily med because the other one is so dratted expensive and I can't get samples at work. This med he gets a lot of samples of and gave me a ton of them. I also got two shots in my neck and two in my lower back. Right now I would like to scream because the novacaine has worn off but tomorrow it will be MUCH better.

Beth the cold part of the bronchitis is much better. I still have a nasty cough but I will have that for quite a long time. Im doing pretty okay as long as I dont laugh a lot or get too physically active.....it kicks in my asthma which makes the coughing worse. I am still on the couch. We need a new bed because I cannot tolerate the adjustable beds we have now. The stupid things slide all over the place and are just not comfortable as they are very old. Just have to get more money in the kitty before we can buy a new regular bed. I'm just going to have to learn to deal with dh's snoring since nothing can be done about it unless we want to pay for the surgery. I can't sleep on the couch much longer though because it is making a bad situation with my back and neck worse.

Sherry Im glad to hear that Junior is back to work. I know what you mean about it never being quiet. I know it never is here with two boys. I can only imagine what it is like at your house ROFL!!Why three turkeys?? How are you ever gonna manage that??

Welp I think I better get off this thing and take some meds and go lay down before this gets much worse. HUGS to all!!

:wave2: Howdy Lars!

Sherry, I could imagine that your house wouldn't ever be quiet! I know I am blessed with what I have here. BUt at least you have some great boys causing the noise :teeth:

Karen, I am sorry that phyiscally you are so bad off. Do take care of yourself

Been a day... tired, but need to get some things done, and haven't even done any of my usual nightly reading yet. I just pray tomorrow will be better :)

Evening, yayas. In a funk today, but I'll get out of it. Ed's not getting rehired at the post office because his employer before the post office let him go! Never mind that he was an exemplary employee for the post office in Maryland for two years!

Let's see if I can remember the ketchup items I had...

Nancy, so, what toppers are ya looking for?;) I have the Mickey Turkey, Pilgrim and the fall color toppers gracing my car right now. Wanna see pictures of Club 33's bathroom!

Lainey, I'd spend the few bucks to get it dry cleaned. I did that when a friend borrowed my leather jacket, and it worked okay. Got a few size 8 silk dresses around here somewhere, I should send them your way!

Karen, listen to what the doctor says...you don't want to be in the hospital again, do you?

Sherry, have some of those turkeys for me. We are either having a Honeybaked ham or going out to dinner with my mom.

Shep...www.toysrus.com. It was great to me last year on Thanksgiving. I got the Black Friday specials and they had what I needed in stock!

Kristy, that is one adorable baby in those pictures!

Bethie, want a kitty cat? Got someone up your way that has an adorable one she rescued from Waxpool road.

Meeting went well...funny thing was that we had to identify our super powers. I was trying to figure it out when the other manager from my store said "you're the answer lady"...so that's what I put. I had to make a banner and it was pretty funny. "Able to quote policies and emails verbatum!" My coworker is the balance in the store, the calming influence, so he did yin/yang on his poster-very true for him!

Had Ed and the kids come meet me at Epcot and we walked around for the evening. Ate at Morocco for the first time-Kevin recognized the songs the musicians were playing as what he heard MoRockin play last month!

Anyway, gotta go check some stuff on my ebay stuff, I'm rolling along on a Mary Poppins room...but I've used up my earnings from the stuff I've sold. Now I gotta sell some more stuff!

Suzanne

I tried to find us today when I had a bit of a break at work. Well, no wonder I couldn't. I didn't go as far as page 4!

I'm tired, just checking in to say g'nite. I read everything. What Beth and Suzanne said. More later.

I went to a jewelry party tonight. I couldn't help my$elf. I found $ome nice piece$. It was fun though and I am tired oh so tired now.

Hi There, I have read and I am all caught up with all the news going on here. Boy, you guys sure keep busy! Actually I have been pretty busy myself. Subeay has me doing lots and lots. So that had taken up a lot of my days.

I am still trying to get "better". It seems futile. I think tomorrow is the day I go to the doctor. I just can't tkae it anymore and it seems to be getting worse. Argh!! Maybe one day I will fel like a human.......OK enough about that.

Called about the job I applied for a month ago and got a voice mail. I left a message saying that I was still interestind in the position, but I think I am going to start looking elsewhere. Rumor has it that the position is still in the interviewing position......there have been some issues about getting the ohter 2 interviews done. There was a HUGE hospital inspection this past week, so things are still "falling out" from that. So, I am still hopeful, but persuing other avenues at this point. Still keeping my fingers crossed though.

Well, Hawaii is in my future. We leave on July 21 for Honolulu and will be there for 3 or 4 days. Then I think we are going to Maui for aobut 5 or 6 days. We may take a day trip or wo to other islands as well. I am hoping to get any advice from those who have been.....I am soooooo clueless about where to go and what to do. Please help! Thanks!!

Lily, glad to hear you has $0 much fun at your party. Hope you didn't $pend all your Di$ney ca$h. I bet you must be getting so excited aobut that trip! So sorry Iam going to miss meeting you!

Suzanne, sorry to hear about your hubby. That just doensn't seem right! I am hoping that just means that there is something better out there for him. How is your leg doing? Hope all is well and that gets resolved quickly for you!

Lainey, here is hoping for a better day tomorrow! I hate those days that leave you feeling beat up. Hope things at work are getting better for you! Glad to hear about your new BAB purchase! I may have to take a looksie at the BAB webpage myself......it could be VERY dangerous!!

Karen, sounds like you need to take care of you! One thing I have discovered, if you don't do it for you, nobody else is gonna either! Listen to your doc! He tells you these things to keep you well! Get better!!!

Sherry, 3 turkeys! You poor girl! How and why do you have to do that? Sounds like you need a few ovens jsut for turkeys/ Glad to hear that Jr. is back to work. That is my goal as well! I am really loloking forward to having a regular paycheck as well!

Bethie, how is your barking coming along.....or to ask this a better way, how are you feeling? I am hoping you are feeling better. Anything new with you? Hope all is well! Tell Mr. CHickenman I said hello!!

Hi Lars!!

TC, how the heck are you? Glad to hear you had a nice meet. I bet you must be getting very excited about heated sidewalks. I think they shouldbe mandatory......EVERYWHERE!!! Of course that is just my little opinion. I have something I need to send to you.....don't be scared...well tooo scared. Just PM me your address so I can stick it in the mailbox. Or I can send it to Beth and have it hand delivered to you in Disney...it is your choice!!!!! I promise roadkill is not involved...that is somebody elses department.

Todd, glad to hear that you are all caught up on your sleep. I have been getting lots of that myself. I too have to agree with Cassie on the Suzie thing! Smart girl! Please tell Amanda that I said hello and give the girls a nice big hug on my behalf. Good luck getting ready for that HUGE turkey day dinner you are planning!!

Nancy, of course we are *patiently* waiting for those pics. SO glad to hear you have a great time. Do tell about the interesting menu. Sounds intreguing. Oh and Lily is just too cute! I tell you, that is one stylin' monkey! Is there nothing that she just can't wear? Can't wit to see her next outfit....but if she has already wore it once, don't you think she needs a differant one? LOL!!!

Pam, how was that little nappy with Gunny? Did ya get lots of zzzzzzzzzzzz's. I had some great snuggle time with Barko today and it was so nice. Gotta love those furry creatures......oh but yes you do. How could I forget. You love em dead or alive. How I miss your stories. Please tell us one....I could use a good chuckle.

Kristy, what cute kids!!! All of them.....thanks for sharing! How are classes going this semester? WHat is your major? Hope alll is going well and that you are able to poop in a little more. I agree with Bethie...it is good the "hear" your voice!!

Tara, how are things with you and the family? Things at school getting any better? I hope this little message finds you well and happy!!

Deena, I just can't help but think how much fun I am going to miss this December! Oh, the trouble we could get into. Best I am NOT going to WDW....I am sure the YaYa bail fund could NOT even begin to help us out....I think you must agree with me!!

JRKaren, you have been doing a really POOR job at being my correspondant!! What is up with that? I have missed all your little stories. How are things going in your busy life? Hope all is going well. Great news about your raise and perfomance review. Keep up the great work......and don't forget about being my correspondant.....I need all the help I can get!

Kimmie, how are things going with you? Hope all is well in your corner of the world. Ready for all of the snow yet? Hard to believe it is going on mid November and it is still in the 50's here, bt supposed to snow this weekend. I don't think I am quite ready! How are your precious pups?

RoseMary, how are you? Getting adjusted to life at home again? I hope all is well with you and things. I have been missing you something awful. You msut be getting so excited about the December trip! Hope you have a wonderful time. PLease be sure to have some fun for me!!

Well, I think it is time for beddie! I hope that I have not missed anyone in my tylenol sinus induced ketchup. As thought often, mad, mad mad love to you one and all!!

:wave2:

I will get to pictures .....I think I am caught up around here on everything except sleep.
But tomorrow is errand day......

Karen...take care.
Suzanne....that is just crummy.
Liz...good to see you. Good luck on the job hunting.

Too tired for more :(

See ya tomorrow.

Morning all! Nice and cold day today.... I really wish I could stay at home and be warm all day... oh well :p

Suzanne, I hadn't thought about getting it dry cleaned! That actually is a good idea. I need to get some clothes dry cleaned as it is, so I might drop it off with them on Weds when I do that.
Sorry about your funk though... pity that Ed was denied for that reason alone :( Did you enjoy eating at Morocco? It quickly became one of my favorite places to eat in Epcot.

Lily, remember the boards move way faster now... only takes 30 minutes during the day to drop a page  Sorry you couldn't find us though!

Liz, feel better soon! And wow, you are becoming the little traveler here!!! Enjoy Hawaii! Sorry about the job... I sincerely doubt that I would rely on them for a job at this point (would bug me a lot about the way they handle people). Of course when I applied years ago (and same with Luis) we had multiple places looking at us so we could decide among the best out there and not have to deal with that kind ofthing if we didn't want to. Good luck!

Todd, I admit I don't play the Gamecube as much as I used to. reading has taken over instead  Game sounds like one up Luis' alley though,

Nancy, I hope you get caught up on sleep soon!

Well I need to hop in the shower. I will catch y'all later :wave2:

Morning!

Another cold one here. I want summer back. :(

Have grocery shopping to do today.

Liz, good to see you! :) Great ketchup. I'm doing 3 turkey's because I am the only one who can make a decent turkey and I enjoy it. :teeth: My inlaws always manage to ruin the turkey, so they have me do it. My mom sometimes works T-day morning so I started doing it. The 3rd one is for a dinner at church for the needy. That one will be done on Weds, though, so that isn't a problem.

Todd, AR is an awesome show. Its probably my fave. reality show. :bounce:

I figured I was due for one...:jester:

Elaine--I guess Luis likes RPG's too?
Can't get into LOTR ROTK...Just sold LOTR TT...

Sherry--When does AR season start?
I know 1st show is 2 hours but not sure of date or channel...:o

Sherry, that is so good of you to do the turkeys like that! I would need another oven though to do it at my house  Just curious, what method (for lack of better word) do you use to cook?

Todd, Luis used to do real RPG games, but he really likes "epic" type of games... ones that take a bit to go through them all. Never did look at LOTR though... just wasn't the same to me... was it any good?

Good morning.

How is everyone feeling today? Hope our sickies are improving.

Sherry....you can pop another turkey in the oven for me too ;)
I'm not cooking this year. There will be just the 3 of us, so we are going out. It will be odd, but it is just too much work for just us.
I will miss the leftovers though.

Tons of errands today....if I get back early enough, I will see about getting pictures.....at least the bathroom ones up :teeth:
So far they aren't even off the camera

Have a good day all.

Quick pop-in, I'm ready to head out the door to meander down to the mall to pick up Halo 2 for DS. He's been waiting for its release for over a year! ;)

Lizzie-poo-poo - Hawaii! You're going to be staying in a little grass shack and doing the hula!:Pinkbounc :bounce: WooHoo!! Lucky dog! Not many zzzzzzzz's yesterday, the little devil wanted to play!:(

Nancy - hope you get rested up, poor dear. Vacations make me soooo tired when I return home.

Howdy Long-Post, Todd!!

Sherry is the Thanksgiving Goddess! I :worship: to her cooking prowess!

Elaine! You look sensational in that meet photo with TC!!:hyper: ::yes::

Lily - so what kind of jewelry did you buy??

I'm off - but I leave much mad love for one and all.....puckerup: :lovestruc puckerup: :grouphug:

For Liz, cause she twisted my arm......;)

I've Got A Handle On It.........

My daughter was home from college for the weekend recently. As always, our talk soon turned to fashion and she commented on how many of the students own Louis Vuitton purses and backpacks. Naively, I asked her if she wanted a Louis Vuitton purse for Christmas. She was like, “yay - but do you know how much those babies cost??!!” Obviously I didn’t or I would never had asked the question!! I wish she would have warned me that I needed to sit - heck, lie down before I learned that a “cheap” LV purse went for a couple of hundred of bucks!
The topic of extravagant purses intrigued me, so I started to research the subject in magazines, the internet, and by watching those entertainment news programs on television. Do you know that some of these purses can cost over $7,500.00?? No, you are reading this correctly, it is not a typo - $7,500.00! That’s more than two thousand dollars more than I paid for my [then] brand new 1980 Pontiac Sunbird. Wow - was that a hot flash or sticker shock causing me to overheat?
Needless to say, that Christmas gift option flew right out the window and I told my daughter that I guessed that she would have to the poor student at the university. She just laughed. To appease her, I took her to the outlet mall and purchased a couple of Liz Claiborne purses for $20.00 each. I’ll give her this - it doesn’t take much to make my girl happy.
Sigh.... I must confess that I have never been a couture aficionado. I am scandalized if I have to buy over $9.99 for a new purse. I usually buy two purses a year - a hobo macrame style in the spring and a vinyl/leather wannabe version for the fall and winter. I’ll give myself this - it doesn’t take much to make me happy.
So - my daughter is home from college again and we decide to go shopping. This is our favorite pastime. We can really bond over the clearance racks. We cruise through a multitude of stores, in search for the elusive bargain and stumble into the purse and accessory aisle. And then I spy it..... a teeny tiny purse with beagle dogs. I stopped dead in my track and did a little jiggy dance - much like the one that my beloved Gunny performs when he spies a rabbit on his daily walk.
“I want that purse!” I scream. My daughter takes one look at the size of that purse and then lets her eyes wander over to the suitcase on my shoulder.....
“Why don’t you get this... ummmm... larger one?” she asks as she tries to steer me towards a purse that could double as a diaper bag. “It has beagles on it, too.” Wow - she’s good. It almost worked, too. I put down the teeny beagle bag and took two steps towards the diaper one. And then I noticed that the dogs depicted on the purse my daughter was holding were hounds, not beagles. Hmph..... everyone knows there’s a HUGE difference between beagles and hounds.
I declared that I was purchasing the beagle purse, even if it did cost $14.97 and was going to blow my budget. “But what will you use it for?” inquired my wise daughter. I informed her that it would be my new fall purse. She raised her eyebrow but kept silent. Hey - I could fit everything in there.... I think. Okay, so it was a frivolous, impractical purse for someone like me. I mean, come on, I operate 75% of our household and 56% of the company out of my purse. When I go to baby and wedding showers and they play the game of “Do you have that in your purse”, I win hands down, every time. I swear there’s a pacifier, circa 1988 in there and coupons for Arby’s that expired in 1996. But it had my little Gunny emblazoned on it. I wanted that purse - nay, I needed that purse. I bought that purse.
At home, I removed the tags and started the process of transferring the contents from one purse to another. I placed the wallet inside my beagle purse. One item down, 432 more to go. Next up was the checkbook. Hmmm.... a little difficulty in getting it in there. Well, it’s all the receipts and phone messages (if I haven’t called you back, it’s because your number got swallowed by the black hole otherwise known as my purse). I eliminated 3 pounds of scraps of paper and got the checkbook inside. I slid in a pen. It was when I attempted to stick the cellphone in that things got a little hairy. That puppy (yeah, pun intended) wasn’t going in there, no way, no how. It was sort of like Gunny, when he digs his feet in and refuses to budge. Compromise is my middle name, I clipped the phone on the handle. I left out my extra set of keys, my chapstick and aspirin. I decided that I didn’t need the Palm Pilot or camera and to heck with the lifesavers and extra pair of socks. I was going to look truly spectacular this season! I was going to be fashionable! I zipped the purse shut, after 5 minutes of struggle.
Each week I would stick in little pieces of paper (if I haven’t called you back yet - I will once I find your phone number) and loose coins. I gave up even attempting to zip the purse after the first day. My daughter would come home from college and cast a forlorn glance at me. “You’re a walking mugging candidate,” she would say. Me? Mugging victim? Ha - methinks the city life has gone to her head. My little beagle purse was getting all kinds of compliments from cashiers and customers as I struggled to dig through the maze and retrieve my cash from its confines. For the first time in my life I was fashionable.
Okay, I admit it - I hated being fashionable. I missed my lifesavers and extra socks. I needed that little package of kleenex and my asthma inhaler. I mourned the loss of magazines and candy bars and photos of my children from birth to now. I was never going to win the purse game at future showers. Fashion be hanged - I was going back to the suitcase/diaper bag and I wasn’t going to look back. This time, however, things would be different, I found a leather purse on sale - $20.49 - budget be hanged! Sure my purse weighs 20 pounds and causes my shoulder to slump, but I’m free - and I’m happy!
And that teeny, tiny beagle purse? Well, as you can see, Gunny has claimed it for his doggie treats. He is, after all, a very fashionable beagle.

Just popping in for a quick EIEIO post ;) I am going to put a deposit down with DVC for them to hold some Boardwalk points for me. I called today and had a long conversation with a guide, and she offered to hold some Boardwalk points for me. I decided to go through Disney rather than a resale because I've heard a few horror stories about people losing deposits after Disney did a ROFR. Plus, I figure it will be easier to just go through Disney and have them do some financing and all that fun stuff. I would have a use year of Feb, and I would get all of my 2004 plus all of my 2005 points.

So, it looks like I'm a step closer to being a DVC member. Yikes.

Karen

Pam, that was wonderful :teeth:
You always make me smile with stories like that ::yes::

Oh and thanks for that compliment :love2:

Nancy, yay for bathroom pictures :hyper:
(yes I am easily amused)

Karen, best of luck with DVC! No matter which way you go, I'm sure you'll end up happy!
