No eclipse for me....was home sick yesterday and slept all day, came in to work late today and still not feeling well.

Nancy...when it says 1 can pumpkin, what size can?

Elaine...I know that at Krogers they won't hire you if you don't join the union.

Nancy...thanks. My eyes like to deceive me with cup and can together. This is the second time this month that it has done that.

Feeling about the same. Hoping that once more fluids get into me I will feel better.

Good afternoon, everyone! Well, the sun has finally decided to come out , so we are only partly cloudy, today. I'm definitely on the mend and DH says he is too.

Nancy, those bars sound positively deeelish! I should have known you wouldn't make anything that didnt' have chocolate in it!! :teeth:

Both pix are nice, Kimmar! I was out of the loop (or maybe LOOPY is a better description) and didn't know there was an eclipse last night :(

Laniey, hope you don't mind if I oogle your cabana feller. Sigh......he's so EASY on the eyes!! Sorry to hear about your union problems. That just absolutely stinks! Maybe it's a sign that you need to look elsewhere?

Hi, Amanda. Sorrry to hear you've got a bug, too. Hope you get better soon--it's just not good to be at work and not be 100%.

Deena, we are pizza coupon people too! No coupon, no pizza!! LOL, no pizza means we go to Santini's deli for their chicken salad subs and dinner only costs $13.58!!! And yes, that includes drinks!

Pam, that really stinks that you had to pay so much for Domino's! Especially when it gives you heartburn!!!! It's Pizza Hut or Papa John's for us. How's DD doing at college, btw?

Kimmie!!!! Sooooo glad to hear your mom's surgery was completed and she's doing well!! It's never easy to have to watch our parents go thru this kind of stuff. Sending plenty of prayers and PD in that direction to help out!

Hey, Poohzanne! Nice that you got to visit with some friends last night--and Hooters, too??!!! Whoo-hoo! Actually, I don't think their food is all that bad, either.

Awww, Karen!!! I'm so sorry to hear you won't be able to make it in December after all!! I totally understand, but that doesn't make it any easier, I know.  Tell your DS we will get our "date" at some other time--there will be other trips, I'm sure!!

I think I saw Tara fly thru with some disjointed sentences back a page or two, too! Hey, girlfriend!! Sorry to hear you had to lug little E to work and hide him under the desk! Hope mom is feeling better--tell her I said HI!! And I MUST agree with Suzanne. You do NOT want to look like that idiot Anna Nicole!! You are already MUCH better than she could EVER be!!

 and    to all I missed.......gotta get back to figuring out how much tax we are gonna hafto pay here come December  Darn crystal ball hasn't come back from the repair shop yet and I'm trying to do it by hand!!!

Hi all, I swear I am spending more time in meetings than I care to be ;) We found a copy of the generic contract and have an idea of what the damage could be. While I wouldn't be happy with the worst case scenario for me, it is still better than I dreamed (for the worst). What sucks though is our current union counterparts are making more than we do while being there for the same amount of time. And we will have a salary cap. My vacation is still a bit screwed but I think we are going to find ways around it ;)

Kimmar, actually both pics are nice. I couldn't see most of the eclipse due to cloud cover.

Deena, that's pretty much our thoughts on it too ;) But you get what you get. Sad that a 27 year old like me thinks so poorly of the buisness world though. How long is your car in the shop for? Sounds like an awful lot of running around!

Nancy, glad you enjoyed breakfast :teeth: I will ignore the rest of your post as they sound too good to even try to make ;)

Amanda, I really hope you are feeling better soon! And I heard the same thing about Kroger's. Not sure exactly how that works though knowing you are going into a union job.

Eating lunch finally... would rather be at home sleeping or something... hope the afternoon flies by :)

Bethie, you sneated! Glad you are feeling better and Dave too!!! Oogle all you like, but no touchy!!!!! :p
A sign for something else? Most likely... I think I'm half on borrowed time here as it is. I am non-union until the end of the year and then after... maybe knocking me down to part time might work. I think Luis wants to pay off big debts (like cars) and then we'll see what we need from me a month.

Yes, I do too make cookies that don't have chocolate in them :p
Love gingersnaps, peanut butter, oatmeal, snickerdoodles.....and on and on. Oh Cherry Snowballs :teeth:
I think I need to plan my holiday baking after this trip ::yes::

Glad you are feeling better Beth.....and Dave too.

We go to a local chain for pizza.....1/2 price until 2:00.....we get it to go if we want it later. Yum!! They also except ALL competitors coupons....so that is my pizza place of choice. And they have doughless pizza for Dave ;)

Get better soon, Amanda. I know how hard it must be for you to be sick, especially with all the running around you do. I remember those days well!

 to all.
See ya later.

Gotta admit all this food talk is making me oh so hungry...

maybe I'll ask Luis what he wants for dinner ::yes::

In the mean time... Nancy you are going to send us your extra cookies, right? :teeth:

My ap (assistant principal in charge of Sp. ed., who happens to be an intern) was supposed to attend an IEP meeting today. She didn't show up, I called the office and ask them to radio her and remind her. No show. I went looking for some one to act in her place, no one around. I held the meeting and then emailed the ap and CCed it to the Principal and our Sp. Ed. Coordinator. I reminded her that she was supposed to attend the meeting, I told her I tried to find someone to cover for her but didn't want to hold mom up for long, and ended up holding the meeting without her. She called me and said she was upset with the email, not because I was right, but because I had copied it to OPEC and the principal. Why did I do that? I explained that the same thing happened last year with the AP intern and they threatend to write me up for having a meeting without an administrator.

I thought I had a right to cover myself by letting our boss know that I was unhappy at her oversight. Now I will say she had an acceptable reason for missing it, but she is turning it around and trying to make me look like I'm the screw up. Those of you with IEPs ( I know I told you to quit reading :) ), but wouldn't you be a little peeved to arrive on time for a meeting that the school scheduled, and then be told you have to wait for the school to get the correct personnel there. She concluded her last email to me by saying "Please do not take this approach again" meaning don't let the principal or coordinator know when I have a problem. Yet, she always copies the principal when we forget to turn something in or she is making some sort of a point to us!!!

UGh!! btw...this is the jerk boss I was referring to. I just keep telling myself that I have outlived four other AP interns in 5 years, I can outlive this one too!!

Thanks for letting me vent and if you are still reading...bless you, you must be a glutton for punishment!!!

I feel better!

tara

Tara - methinks I would have to copy and forward that message on, too.....;)

Hope the evil AP leaves and things get back to normal for you. :(

Hey, Beth!:D
DD is doing great in college!:Pinkbounc

Tara you did the right thing. The motto is CYA and you always need to do that. The time you dont will be the time she tries to screw you over (sorry Im a little jaded, lol).
We are having a hard time with the prinicpal in Matthews school. Matthew goes to an AEP school--for kids that would be at risk for dropping out. In middle school he didnt do his homework ever and was gettng behind. The school has been good for him and he now makes A's & B's.
Im on the PTA board and we want to do some things for the kids to reward their hard work (ie bowling parties, reward certs like a free video rental etc). The principal wants us to do nothing but what she wants. The other night they had math/science night at the school the PTA provided the food. She told us what to buy & serve and told us to babysit kids. I dont miond doing her stuff but she doesnt want to let us do anything for the kids we want  and these kids are the ones that need motivation the most.

Now for the most awesome news the dealership fixed my car under "warranty". I use the " " because my car is not covered under extended warranty but the problem I had was a defect with the pin in the caliper (brakes). Anyway they managed to get it all covered for me!!! I love those guys:love: Otherwise it would have cost me $500.

Extra??? What's that? They were gone 15 minutes after they entered the building! ;)

:wave2:

I'm glad you all think I did the right thing. I, too, thought it was a good CYA plan. UGH!! I think she is afrad she will get in trouble for missing a meeting, but that is no reason to turn it around to try and make me look like I did the whole thing wrong!!

Also, thanks for all the Anna comments!! I don't really want to look like her, because she is sort of a freak, I just want to be thin again!! I can't even blame it on children too much. I started gaining weight as soon as I quit eating a college diet! Snickers and Dr. Pepper were fine in college but they sure added up the pounds when I became a big person!! hehehe I am exercising 3 days a week now and the lady teaching our strength and toning class here at school wants me to join her Friday night group where she works at night so that I can really get into shape. She wants my goal to be to join her in January. I think I can handle that!! We'll see!!

Speaking of food, I'm going out for dinner, must have decent food after a rough day!!

hugs to all!
tara

Just popping in to say :wave2:

Been busy washing clothes, packing them away, and cleaning house. Our friends are coming over tomorrow evening so I'm trying to make the house presentable. :teeth: I don't know why I bother......by the time my 4 and their 3 get together, the house is trashed again.

Jordan got his new glasses today. They look really nice. :)

Tomorrow is Jordan's keyboard recital at school. It is the last day of his keyboarding class (9 week course) so the parents are invited to a small recital to show off what they've learned. :)

OK, gotta get back to some more cleaning before Survivor comes on!

:wave2:

Been a night... not terribly chatty today...

Tara, sorry you had to deal with that. I don't blame you for what you did. It sounds liek she is just upset that she was "caught" and "told on" Sadly we have to do the same at our work. I always say CYA when needed! Oh and good luck with teh work out... been bad about that myself but doing okay with the diet thing here for now. I hope I don't have to excercise too much :p

I meant for your holiday baking... surely you have *something* left over you could share ;) What am I saying, Luis would eat them all anyway

:wave2: Hi Pammymuffin... so glad that your DD is doing well. When is she out for the semester?

Deena, glad they fixed your car for you w/o charge! That's great!!!

Good luck to Jordan tomorrow! ANd most importantly good luck toyou with the 7 kids around the house

'nite all!

:wave2:
Pretty quiet day today.

Have fun tomorrow Sherry....should be a lively one :teeth:

Exchange names are going out NOW!!
Busy day tomorrow!

Night all

Thank you Nancy for doing organizing the exchange! Cannot wait!!

Morning all... sleepy here... going to make some nice hot tea soon (read: caffeine) So not awake today... and probably will have a late night too

Got my exchange name!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: Some lucky person should be prepared to have me rock their world!! :earseek:

I spend FOUR hours getting the UPS labels done - my computer crashed soooo many times. It's time to play hard ball - it's been almost 3 years of this crap.

And - it's raining....:(

I started feeling better yesterday afternoon, still not 100% but at about 95%. Felt good enough to make iced pumpkin sugar cookies for my work group for today.

Tara...next time bcc the principal and the others, then the assistant principal can be surprised they know;)

Watch out...Pam is getting ready to rock someone's world. I am sure the individual will be very blessed by Pam's gift. Just open it slowly.

Sherry...understand about cleaning before company. The entire time I am cleaning I am saying to myself, "Why am I doing this?" We are trying to get a company to replace our kitchen/laundry/powder room/pantry and master bath underlayment and vinyl...I told Todd to wait till after Thanksgiving, then the guest will be gone and the floor will be safe till the next gathering. Enjoy the recital.

Elaine...if Nancy's family is like mine, I have to guard it all till it goes out the door and usually have barely enough because someone got by me and took some.

Hi gang.:wave2:

Pam--:earseek: ..I am sick & tired of the rain..

Sherry--pic?...clean house or Jordan..:duck:

Elaine--meetings?..I have a hard enough time staying awake sometimes just sitting in front of the pc...:o

tara, deena, Nancy--:wave2:
