Sigh, I needed to come here to say howdy to my sistas and bothas and what do I see? Precious jewelry.
Oh I so needed that. Thanks for posting it Kimmie.

Good afternoon, everyone!

It's still snowing. I think we have several inches on the ground, and there's no sign of it stopping. I'm still in work, but I think we are getting out a bit early today. I hope I hope. Of course, that should put me home at the same time that I normally get off with the way the traffic is looking. LOL.

Thanks for all the warm places to stay. You don't know how tempting it is to just get a plane ticket and go. I really am starting to feel those wintertime blues.

Tara, Jarrod's bed sounds cool. My sister just got her daughter a similar bed. It's nice for them to have that extra storage. I could use one of those for my scrapbook crap.

SSB, don't even attempt to play play baseball until you are 100%. Don't want to reaggrevate anything now, do we?

Suzanne, good luck with the surgery. Sending good thoughts your way for a sucessful surgery and a speedy recovery.

Elaine, it looks like the snow total will be right on target--6 to 10 inches. There are several inches on the ground already, and it's not going to stop until well after midnight. YUCK.

Hi, Sherry! Enjoy your heat wave!

Hi, John! You enjoy your heat wave too!

Hi, Caroline! Thanks for the offer of a cold place to stay ;)

Kimmie, what a beautiful necklace!

Later.

HI everyone....it's snowing here.....again.....still .....whatever.....
I didn't take my car in for the recall work today - didn't want to drive cuz the dealer is about 45 minutes away.
So being the good mom I let DD take it to school so she could have the 4WD - they are getting dismissed at 1pm.
Already got a call that my office might be closing realy so that means an early start for me.

Did I mention it's snowing...again?????

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Okay, after looking at Sherry's avatar I realized I made a mistake...Ohio State fans...does the name Loehn sound familiar? he is one of our pe teachers and he apparently played for them.

Sorry about the snow all!

Vent: Okay maybe it is because I've gone off my happy pills but people are really getting on my nerves...they don't do the job they are supposed to do and want me to tell them how to do it but get irritated when I tell them they need to check with the AP before they can do anything else...I tell ya I'm really beginning to dislike coming to work!!! I know this doesn't make any sense but trying not divuldge the who..just pissy today!

late for class.

Never heard of him, Tara.

Ack. I swore I wouldn't watch any more kids, and what do I do today? Agree to watch the neighbor's DD. :rolleyes1: I'm such a sucker. It is only a few hours a day, and it will only be about 3 days a week for right now. You think I'd learn.

Love the necklace, Kimmie. :)

Afternoon, all.

Hope the day is going well for everyone. I'm chasing flurries around the back 40 here. Lousy clouds with their free will. :P

So .. anyway .. I have a question for y'all. I've been stewing about this one for a while, but I can't come to a conclusion. I'm looking for input. Hypothetical question (yeah, sure it is .. ).

Say you got a present from someone. You're pretty sure that the present is only being given because the other person feels obligated, not because they want to. You're also sure that it comes with an unspoken string attached, that you will be admitting you were wrong about something, and that certain 'incidents' of the past are supposed to be washed away by this gift. You're as certain as you can be that you weren't the one at fault, and you really have no interest in continuing this relationship.

Would you send the gift back? Does it make a difference to you if it was from a family member (and I use the word family loosely)? What if you're pretty sure that sending it back will be 'the point of no return', so to speak, in the relationship?

Any ideas? :(

hypothetically speaking....I have no idea! But good luck to you anyway sounds like it is a convaluted (?sp) situation. If it is a nice gift...keep it...if not use it in the regifting exchange!!

Hey Everyone,

Sneaking in from work since there is no one here.

Caroline Im glad you got a giggle out of the Harry S. Truman puppet. This should be very interesting to make. We have black felt for the body which we will make look like he is wearing a suit, black felt for the shoes...those are gonna be flat. Beige felt for the head and hands, gray fake fur for the hair, and gold wire for the glasses. Now we just have to figure out how to fashion a nose for the glasses to sit on. Why do teachers do this?? There is no way in heck any of these kids are gonna make these puppets without a parents help. Caroline give me some time to ponder your question and I will tell ya what I think later tonight.

SSB nooooooooooooo baseball until you are fully healed okay?? Don't want you to hurt something or undo the good the doctors have done.

Sherry you are not a sucker you are just a sweet lady who likes to help out.

Karen I dont have an extra room and we only have one bathroom thats under some construction but we do have a pull out couch....if you dont mind napping with the puppa ROFL. Im sorry it is snowing there again. I wish it would let up for you.

Suzanne MEGA MEGA prayers going out for you. I will be thinking about you all tomorrow.

Kimmie what a BEAUTIFUL necklace. Thanks for posting a picture of it. Does it come in real gold?? I cant wear costume nor silver because I break out. I would love to ask for something like that in gold as my reward for quitting smoking.

Elaine thats nice to know about the Tommy Jeans. Im not quite that big but big enough. I feel like an ugly blob right about now. I am so excited for you about your cruise!!!

Well I had to have a talk with my youngest's teacher this morning. Apparently a kid in the class has been beating on him on the walk to the aftercare busses. Yesterday the kid slapped him in each eye and kicked him. He has also been purposely telling my son his answers on his work are wrong and giving him the wrong answer causing him to get marked down. I asked that the child be moved away from mine. I alerted the safety patrol that walks them to the busses and asked that she make sure those two are not anywhere near each other. This kid apparently has started stuff with a few kids in the class. I talked again to the teacher later this morning because I didn't want my little man moved because he liked it where he was, I wanted the other kid moved and I wasnt sure I had made that clear this morning, but she told me she specifically asked the whole class who would like to move from where they are and my little man was the first to speak up. He is still close to the teacher but one set of desks back and next to some really nice smart kids. I think that is a good move for him. He is a smart little bugger himself. I just wish he wouldnt listen to other people about answers to work. Both the teacher and I spoke to him about this today. We told him if he doesnt understand the directions or is having a problem reading them then skip it if the teacher is busy and go back to it when she is not busy and can help him with it.

Well I guess I better get some work done or make it look like Im working when my coworker comes back LOL. Im sorry if I missed you it was unintentional. Im just trying to rush so I dont get caught.

HUGS TO ALL!!!!

Caroline, honestly keep the gift. If they think they are winning you over with that gift, that's their issue. Do not change in anyway for them. If you have no use for the gift, give it away, but I wouldn't ever send it back. I always pretend all gifts are given out of the goodness of the person's heart.... if not, their issue not mine. This is true of family or otherwise for me.

Sherry, I hoep your blahs are lifted soon. And have fun with the new one to watch!!

SSB, that does sound like a lot of fun!!!! Didn't realize they'd have a cruise like that. I hope to have fun... and if not, I hope to just get the heck away from this cold weather :teeth:

Suzanne, call me crazy, somehow I thought your surgery was next week even though I kenw it was the 27th :o Best wishes for a successful surgery

Kimmie, I am not sure if Jill jeans are done differently, but the Tommy's I wear are done L, R & A... I can only assume that they are for Long Regular & Ankle... but the R & As are definitely different lengths for me. I looked at Angels before, but they cost so dang much!

Lily... since you need it, here's a link for ya ;)http://www.noblecollection.com/catalog/catalog.cfm?catid=17

This is the necklace I got from there
NN4929P.jpg

JRKaren, stay safe in that snow!!!

Same to you Paula!

Tara, I hadn't heard of Loehn, and neither had my husband. Do you know when he played? Sorry about work though.

Karen, I didn't think you needed that big, but I think I recalled seeing them that high at one point. They definitely are found in the bigger small sizes ;) So sorry about everything with your son... that is awful :(

Hi gang!

We got out of work early today. At about 12:30, my boss sent out an e-mail saying that we could leave when we finished up our work. I finally left at 2:30. Made it home a little after 4:00. Did you know that I hate snow?

Elaine, cool necklace :)

Karen, sorry to hear about the problems Pong is having. I hate bullies. Hopefully the kid will get bored and move on.

Caroline, I don't know what I would do about that gift. Hmm.

Sherry, a few hours a day watching your neighbors DD might not be too bad. Might be nice to have a girl around you ;)

Well, that's all.

JellyrollsKaren

Whew, what a day! Transformer blew up down the street from the office this afternoon and most of the building was without power! For some strange reason, the front office (where my desk is) and the kitchen area were still up and running, but our servers were down, so no internet. Since I had power, I got to stay and answer the phone til 5, but the boss went home. Oh well......

We had a heat wave here too, today! High was 48º!! Of course, that cold air will be hitting us tonight and we will be lucky to get above 20º tomorrow. Not so bad, I like winter, unlike some other people I know. :p

Hey, Kimmie!!! That's the necklace Dave gave me last year for our anniversary!! Isn't it gorgeous??!! For Christmas this year, he gave me the matching earrings. Talk about sparkly!!! I told him he needed to take me someplace really posh so we could dress up and I could wear the whole set. And to answer your question, my evening playing grandma was great, except for a little problem with sharing the Sleeping Beauty Princess doll. " I want to play with it!" "No, I want to play with it!" "Miss Beth, she won't give it to me!" Actually, a perfectly normal night with almost 4 year old twins and their almost 6 year old sister!!

Caroline, I'm with Elaine on your "hypothetical situation" Keep the gift and nevermind what they think. Sending it back would be petty and you certainly don't want to stoop to that level! I wouldn't acknowledge it in any way, though.

SSB, I am so very glad to hear of how your recovery is speeding along! Don't let them overwork you at work, now! And NO baseball! That's as bad as my dad begging his doc to let him go bowling a month after having his knee replaced!!

What's up, Lily? Glad you were able to get back to working out so soon after your 1/2 marathon! Sorry the weather up your way is being so nasty. Thank goodness for treadmills and exercycles, huh?!

Paula, is there any part of Rhode Island that is still visible in all that snow?! I'm thinking ya'll got so much now, you've been pretty much whited out of the map!! I'm sure Jellybean will be glad to pick you up as she makes her mad dash for the south!

Speaking of whom, our poor Jellybean. Got out of work early and is still whining. Throw another log on the fire, another blanket on the bed, pour yourself a nice hot toddy and call me in the morning. You'll be fine!! :earboy2: Love ya, Karen!! Mean it!!

Tara, I know you are looking for the light at the end of the tunnel, but my ADHD son was still being Capt. Destructo when he was in middle school! You're in for a long haul, there, mom. Feel free to call me if you need some moral support!
hug.gif
You WILL get thru it! Sorry, the folks at work aren't helping matters any. Just tell them your crystal ball is in the shop for repairs and they will have to look elsewhere for their answers. :wizard:

Sherry, my friend, you took on another sitting job?!! Just when you were out from under?! sigh......it's that maternal instinct, isn't it? So hard to resist that need to nuture.....

Good luck with the surgery, Suzanne!! Praying for a skillful doc and a swift and easy recovery, for ya! Take care of yourself, now! Hope you REALLY enjoyed that steak!!

Karen, sounds like that puppet is in good hands. How about a button or a small cork glued on for his nose? Sorry to hear about your little one's bully problems, too. What a PITA! Hope increase vigilance on the part of the safety patrol, monitors and the move in class helps out.

So, Elaine, are ya packed yet?! You've got your shorts, your swim suit and sunglasses--what more do you need?! :p

Gotta run---choir practice tonight!

Oh, wait! Where's Liz?!! Still having computer issues?! Hope it gets fixed soon! Deena's too!!

Love ya'll!!!!! :grouphug:

:wave2:

Moving is done....finally. I have hauled things everyday for a week except Monday when I cleaned my own house. I'm tired and sore. I moved almost everything. Loading and unloading......everyone else just had one direction to do  I'm too old for this.
Cable internet gets connected Friday....and then the job search is back on.

SSB....glad things are going well for you.

Caroline....I agree with Elaine and Beth. Keep it!!

Suzanne.....best wishes for the surgery tomorrow and a speedy recovery.

JRKaren.....sorry you are still snowing. I have 2 guests rooms now and 2 extra bathrooms too.....not sunny and warm though.
I think we all need to go on the cruise with Elaine :teeth:

Kimmie...cool necklace.
I got a new ring for my birthday, but just took it back. Wasn't what I wanted...so I have $$$ to spend :bounce:

Haven't made the cookies yet.....guess I need to go do that now

 everyone else.

Evil wife finds way to win battle. On the cruise there is a formal night. Evil wife wanted to go just to go. She likes dressing up now and then just for the pure heck of it ;) So whenever evil wife brings up to husband about bringing a dress shirt and tie (suit jacket doesn't fit quite right, and that's okay with me to leave it since it will work) along, husband balks. Well Evil Wife went out and found a cute little black dress (on sale of course) and buys it... says "I want to wear this on the cruise, can you bring dress shirt & tie with you?" Husband caves :teeth:

JRKaren, sure you hate the snow???? :p Glad you got out early though. Do stay safe!

LOL, Bethie, I just haven't cleared the bag of certain things... I will probably do that tomorrow though. I do have pretty much all weekend since we will not leave until 6 PM on Sunday.

I have made the decision to leave the laptop at home. Several reasons, and one most importantly is that I am not able to carry it on with me due to size... I have to leave it in the hands of someone and it won't be in a secure enough place (in my mind). So it stays. I will need to transfer all my chargers and all that to my other bag then :)

Nancy, take it easy  Just think about all the good things you can buy with the money :teeth:

Holy Cow!! Page 3!! :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

Just hopping on to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY JRKAREN!!!!!!!!!! Hope you have a great day!!! Hope you get LOTS of presents too!!

:bday:  :cake: :bday:  :cake: :bday:  :cake:

Way to go, Elaine!! Hope you enjoy the pampering of a sit down meal or two :)

Happy Birthday, JRKaren!!
Hope you have a great day.

And more good luck to Suzanne

Happy Birthday, Jellybean Karen!

Suzanne

oh yeah, I'll check in when I get home tomorrow, er, later today...

Suzanne
