Good morning everyone!

Just got home from the supermarket. Everyone and their aunt Margaret was there at 7:30 this morning. Shopping took me double the time it usually takes me. I had a 15 minute wait to get some cold cuts. Crazy. But I got everything I needed, and picked up a nice roast beef to make for lunch tomorrow since we'll all be home. Hope I don't mess up the gravy.

Stacy, glad that your spirits are better :) I'll let you know how I like DSL. It's only about $7 more than AOL, so that's not too bad. I would love to go to cable, but I just can't justify spending an extra $20 a month for it.

Deena, don't go bragging about your warm weather when most of us are stuck in the cold and snow. We're going to have to throw some big snowballs at you if they do, but of course it's so warm there, they'll melt before they reach you.

Karen, hang in there  It's all right to be cranky and crabby. It's a small price to pay for quitting smoking. It will pass :)

Elaine, glad to hear that you only had a six inches of snow. I don't mind that as much. We're supposed to get around 18 inches. Yuck.

Well, that's all for now. I'm going to finish reading the boards, and then I'm going to get my hair cut :) Yay!

JellyrollsKaren

Well, I went outside and we at least 3 or so inches of snow, and it is supposed to keep going through the rest of the day. I looked and even though our roads haven't been plowed for a while, it looks pretty decent out. I might go run an errand and test it in a while.

Made a snow angel for someone though ;)

JRKaren, sorry your store was so busy. Seems like everyone tries to do a mad dash right before a storm. Even 2' of snow isn't enough to keep us home for much more than 1/2 a day (at least that's what it did 2 years ago) so I never thought to stock up when they call for "blizzard like conditions". Guess I might be far too optimistic though :p

Off to call the vet to schedule appts for my babies.

Morning!

We have about 4" of snow so far, and it is still snowing. They say we may get as much as a foot. :earseek:

Gave my nephew his BaB last night and he LOVED it. :) Said he was gonna sleep with it last night. :)

JRKaren, we are switching to DSL, too. :teeth: Just got our modem the other day. Our service will start on Monday. Adelphia (we have a cable modem now) raised the prices, big time, and it just wasn't worth it anymore. We will save about $60 a month with DSL.

Elaine, be careful out there if you do decide to go out.

Karen, sorry to hear about the incident with the cat. :( Congrats to your DS.

Stacy, good to see you back! :)

Sherry, I think we have about 3-4" of snow... right now we aren't supposed to get much more than a couple more inches. The storm stayed north I think so we are spared. Good luck with yours though!!!

Oh and to all you soon to be DSL people... enjoy the fast connections!

And for Karen...
Snow Angels

Sherry, I just love that Spiderman bear. So cute! So you couldn’t get the guys into the spinning/hugging bear dance? Sorry about the situation your family faces. PD and prayers your way that it works out. DH was one of those in the grocery store last night. DSL saves more than cable? Hmmm might look into that one. The savings is significant.

Tara, hope you had fun last night with those young ‘uns. Do they have the chaperones dance? You could have shown them the Ya Ya shimmy!

John, sorry that Sue is going through this time with family. Glad she is not traveling down there today. Rather, I guess she would not be going down there at all. Glad she got there before this all hit. I know you are worried for her and send PD and prayers to ease the time. Loved your Cinnibun story.

Suzanne, didja make it to see the World then yesterday? I guess seeing you report on your credit reporting errors, we should really get on it to check ours. Haven’t done so in quite some time. DS #1 would love to be there at Daytona today. Alas, he is snowboarding in PA instead.

Paula, pass some milk this way. I’ll join you.

Karen, congrats to DS on his test results. Sending you PD and prayers to get through this smoke free time in you and family’s lives. I’m looking forward to hearing of your positive results. If you need an extra boost, stop over at WISH you will find lots of support there too. No crabbies, Think happy thoughts. You are such a good heart to stay with the little kitty—good thing too as Pam might be looking for roadkill to add to her stew.

JRKaren, will you be doing the snow angels in shorts? I told DH that it is snow angel day today. He shook his head and walked away. I guess he doesn’t want to make any. We’ve got lots of it heading your way and lots still coming down here. I’m betting you really like your faster Internet connection.

Stacy, we have lots of snow headed over your way. It’s been an entertaining morning here. Glad we don’t have to go out. Glad you are feeling better.

Deena, well 70, we are so cold here on the Northcoast.

Elaine, so you don’t do Pam’s roadkill stuff either. Uh oh, seems like Pammy might be going out of business. No one around to eat the stew. Alan must be doing great on those Moonpies then. That snow angel is too cute! I love it.

Friday Date Night went quite well here. DH made dinner. We had wings, fries and celery just as if we went to our local spot. He made barbeque sauce and since I liked mine hot, even mad a special some just for me. Then HP was on TV so watched it. It was a relaxing time. Slow start today too. I went out and got the newspaper for the 2 neighbors. I shoveled a path for our elderly neighbor, but I don’t know why as it is totally covered up again. I got her mail from yesterday too. The weather reporter here says we have “almost” blizzard conditions here. The only thing missing is visibility needs just a bit shorter to qualify it for blizzard. Well, to me that just means more cold snow wind and blah. It has been steadily falling. We live on a kinda main street and the cars have been struggling to make the incline up the hill by us and we’ve watched the salt trucks make several passes too. People just won’t stay home in this mess making it a bigger nightmare.

DH is making baked potato soup for DS#2. It’s his first attempt. Hoping it turns out good. Last night’s meal was great. Especially as I didn’t have to make it. So he can usually do a good job.

Everyone I missed, hope ya have a great day! Later...

Good afternoon, everyone!

Sherry, wow. $60 less per month to switch from cable to DSL? That is a huge difference. Ouch. I'm also saving money on my phone bill because I switched from Comcast to Verizon (I Had to have my phone on Verizon to get the DSL).

Elaine, great snow angel. I haven't made one in years either, and I will not be making one tonight or tomorrow either. Too cold. Brrrrr.

Lily, as I said to Elaine, I will not be making snow angels (in pants or shorts). You are too good taking care of your neighbor like that. :) And so sweet of Ted to make you extra hot sauce for your wings. If the baked potato soup comes out good, you'll have to send me the recipie. I love baked potato soup. Yum.

Well, that's all for now.

JellyrollsKaren

Page 2! :earseek:

DH is out snowblowing. Snow is still steadily falling. I hate winter.

Lily, glad you had a nice date night. Wings & fries........yummy! I love baked potato soup. ::yes:: I'm making clam chowder for dinner tonight.

JRKaren, Adelphia raised our package price by almost $10, along with some other price increases. It just wasn't worth it anymore. The package with DSL through our phone co. was just a better deal. And, since DH is installing it, we have no installation fee and the modem was free. At Adelphia, we paid $5/mo. for the modem. Plus, the first 3 mos. of DSL is $19.95/mo.

Lily, sounds like y'all had a great night together last night! Stay safe during the storm. We aren't getting near the conditions y'all are! It's windy, but I doubt we'll get close to having blizzard like conditions here at all.

Oh, I am sure some still enjoy Pam's food... I'm just a picky eater :p

We're heading out as soon as Luis showers and gets dressed. Hope y'all have a great evening :)

Ahh, finally sitting down with my cuppa coffee and ketchupping a bit. Been out to Wally World for allergy meds and bath soap, then to the grocery store for apples and brown sugar. Feel like making an apple pie today!

Snow started falling around 8ish, but it is super fine and very dry. Just brushed off the windshield and was good to go. Been studying the weather maps and it looks like the heavy stuff won't hit us here until after 7PM tonight. Had to laugh when I read this line, "Saturday and Sunday will be best spent indoors throughout the Northeast, with perhaps a couple of trips outside to shovel some snow or work on your best snow angel." LOL!!!! I just hope we get enuff to make snow angels, here! Sent Dave off to work with 4 meals, a change of clothes, etc, etc. Don't know if his relief will be able to make it in tonight--he lives a good 30-40 miles away in Maryland. Then again, even if the guy makes it in tonight, will Dave be able to get back there tomorrow morning?!! Just LOVE this!!!

So, Tara, how was the dance? I think Jr. High dances are soo comical--that age group is so mercurial, teetering on the edge of adolescence but not quite ready to leave childhood behind. Love how so many of them are still keeping their distance from the opposite sex while others quite obviously have boiling hormones! Nice to hear you had a good night with Jar the other night. Have you been lucky enuff to have it continue?

Kimmie, it's nice to see the skaters in your siggie again! Much as I love The King in his various "incarnations", I see those skaters and I know it's you!

Sherry, hope you are staying warm and dry. So very sorry to hear of Junior's permanent restriction and hope that there is someone who can do something about finding him a position at the plant. He must be so discouraged. Give him a big  from me and know that I am keeping you all in my prayers. The Spiderman Bear is just too, too cute!!! I'm beginning to feel the "need" for another bear kid........

John, I'm hoping Sue is holed up for the weekend and didn't try to drive home. Sad situation, but I'm so glad she was able to be there to share some of her comfort and support.

Kristy, how was scrapping?! How many books have you filled so far with Dakota pix??!!! I know I could probably fill a book a week with a little cutie like that around!! Don't like your weather forecast for this weekend, either. Hope you don't end up all iced in! But if you do, hope you stay safe, warm and dry!

Suzanne, dontcha hate having to fix your credit report?! And some creditors are so dang slow about reporting your status, too! When my ex and I bought our house, we found 2 car loans on ours that had been paid off for years still showing as open and active! Hope you are enjoying the race cars at Daytona!! Bet the boys are loving THAT!!!

Paula, didja make it up to Albany today? Hope the weather didn't hold you up too badly and that you were able to get up and back safely. Sorry you have to work tomorrow--so I guess you don't get snow days, either?

OMG!!! I just heard thunder outside!! How freaky!!!!

Karen, hope you are having a great time at the bball games today and are able to keep your mind occupied with good things! You were so sweet with the poor kitty this morning, how sad that they don't even bother to try to save them. Oh, and be sure to give Ping a big hug for me!! He did a tremendous job on those assessment tests!!

Yay, JRKaren is getting DSL!!! Yippeee!!!! Bummer you have to wait until Tuesday, though. We switched off AOL several years ago to Earthlink and are still very happy with it. Even though we have cable now, we still use the Earthlink, it's that good. Maybe someday DSL will be available in our neighborhood  So how was the haircut? Do you have an equivalent to Elaine's "Craigy-poo"?!!

LOL!!! Stacy had to go back 9 pages to find her last post! I find myself in the same situation on weekends when I'm busy or my DH is off, so don't feel bad. I caught mention that you participate in a scrapping/swapping group. How is that working out? One of my good friends here is in one, too, and she complains that a lot of people either don't bother to send out their swaps or what they DO send out obviously didn't take a lot of effort. I've been thinking about getting involved, but still a bit leery.

Well, laundry is calling and I think I'm going to start a nice pot of chili. Hope ya'll have a wonderful day and if I missed you in this post, I'll try to do better next time around!! Mad, mad love to all!! :grouphug:

Bethie, my haircut is the same as always, just a trim. I can see again--my bangs were really getting too long. I don't have a Craigy-poo like Elaine--I had been going to one hair stylist, but they went way up in price the past couple of years, so I switched (not because I couldn't afford it but because they went up about 40% in price in two years). Only a few more days to DSL :) I can't wait.

Sherry, I got a fee modem with my DSL, too :) I'm also doing the self install thing. I can't wait for Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. so I can get started :)

Elaine, be careful out there.

JellyrollsKaren

Hey everyone - remember Beth - whiny little Beth,"Poor little old me - Caroline send some snow my way. I looooooove snow - I want some snow."

So Caroline, being the good sport weatherperson that she is - conjures up a winter storm and sends it down Beth's way. That Caroline - she's such a sweetheart! puckerup:

THERE WAS JUST ONE PROBLEM WITH THE PLAN, LADIES!! The stupid storm plowed through the rest of the YaYas!

Punishment must be swift. I figure Caroline is new and didn't really know better - so we'll stick to the Cheetos with her. Now - Little Miss Boo-Hoo No Snow definitely did. Everyone meet in the courtyard at Beth's at 10:45 pm tonight. Bring 6 oranges in a pillowcase. I bet she will never ask for snow again!

;)

smiley963.gif
Love you too, Pam!!

LOfreakingL, Pam. I don't think I'll be able to make it to Beth's, though. With the snow emergency, and twenty inches on the way, how can I make it?

I don't think we should let Caroline off the hook that easy, Pam. She's a witch, I tell ya. Evil snow witch. I can say that because she isn't here to defend herself.

The cops just rode down and made an announcement saying you can't park on the odd side of the street. Some annoying people across the streed have their car parked, and I'm waiting for it to get towed :) They said cars will be towed within an hour if they aren't moved.

Dang it, girlfriend - you go playing up my soft and tender side!
Ok - new plan - we meet at Beth's - but only bring 4 oranges in the pillowcase.

JRKaren - duh - we live in YaYa Land - we are all 21 and a size 2 and have really nice ****s. When we travel - we just say where we want to be and poof! we are there!!
:wizard:

Oooohhh police action - I love to watch policemen in action!!!

Hi YaYas! Is everyone tucked in somewhere where it's warm and dry?

Beth, Awwww... thank you! Yep, the King is mighty fine, but gotta have my skater dude fix now and then. How was the chili and what did you do today? By the way... you compose the sweetest most thoughtful ketchups! I've been wanting to tell you that for ages!

Sigh... wish I could talk snow with all of you, but alas... not a flake in sight. :) Ya'll throw a snowball at someone you love for me, kay?

Sherry, that Spiderman bear is adorable!! You and Junior are in my thoughts. I do hope everything is resolved soon.

Suzanne, how was Daytona? I'd LOVE to see something like that!!

Hi Paula! How is your weekend going?

TC, your Cinnabon story was so fun!! Made me hungry!

Karen, congrats to DS on the test scores! That's great! I'm so sorry for you that you saw the kitty, but am glad that you were there for him. You have a kind heart. How are you doing with Day #1!? Hang tough. You can do it!

"Spring and autumn" relationships.... My aunt and uncle are YEARS apart and have been doing beautifully for 20 years now. Ya just never know. :)

Hey to Stacy! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Sending the packages and letters to the soldiers is a wonderful idea!! Kudos to your DS for doing so well with his grades and fingers crossed that all goes well with your DH's surprise party!

Elaine's bird story... :( Ack! Poor baby. You were a sweetie for trying to help him, E.

Car towed yet Karen?

Lily, your date night sounded lovely... what is HP?

DH just got back from funeral services for a fellow co worker. :( He died in a car accident last weekend. He would've been 25 just days after the accident. Sigh.

Pam sheepishly admits that her uncle is 65 and her "aunt" is 27.

Kim - I'm sorry about your hubby's coworker. :guilty:

I never said anything before but one of the middle school students committed suicide 1.5 weeks ago - the day after he turned 13. I don't think our poor kids will ever heal from everything that has happened over the past 3 years. :guilty:

Well, someone should answer to this for sure! I know I did not ask for all of this just so the southern Ya Ya land could have some powdery enjoyment. Hmpfff! What does our weather goddess do? She's off somewhere sipping some colada or another. Hmpfff! again.

She's still in Ya Ya training with a lot to learn. It's been fun to watch her learning. Uh oh, I think now the learning curve just took a total leap!:)

Stop peeking!

Kimmie, HP=Harry Potter sorry that I wasn't more clear on that. Sorry about the funeral service. No snow, I think we need to hear about your land for a bit. Ours has white out and I cannot see the sunshine.

After playing paper delivery and shoveling my elder neighbor's walk, I haven't ventured out and do not plan to do so until I go to work on Monday. I will probably deliver their papers again early morning but that will be the extent of my outdoorness.

I don't know what tonight will hold for us here. I want to just curl up in front of the veg box and watch some movement. I don't think I really care to do anything else.

Stay safe Ya Yas. Those that are out have an enjoyable time.

I'll get some vodka and we can have screwdrivers!!!! :D

Awww shucks...

Chili is doin' fine--simmering in the crock pot! Dave doesn't get off for a little over an hour, yet, and we'll eat when he gets home. That is, IF, he gets to come home! We only got about 3 inches of snow, but we never know if the guy who relieves him will make it, when the weather gets bad. Decided it was a good day to do some cooking, so I took out the leftover Christmas turkey and made a big pot of soup, too! Going to be filling LOTS of plastic bowls tonight and loading up the freezer!

Oh Pam!! I am sooooo sorry to hear about that 13 year old!!! What is up with your area?! Your kids have just seen far too much death over these last 3 years. Sending out more prayers for comfort and strength for them.

Caughtcha sneatin', Lily!! I think that's an excellent plan for the evening! I picked up a couple of cheap pieces of fluff at Wally World this morning, too. Sandra Bullock in "28 Days" and David Duchovny (hubba-hubba!!!) with Minnie Driver in "Return to Me". I'll leave the porch light on so ya'll can find the courtyard and we can have screwdrivers or smoothies while we watch movies! Got plenty of pillows for pillow fights and cozy quilts to wrap up in, too!

Pam sheepishly admits that her uncle is 65 and her "aunt" is 27.

Hee!! :p

Pam, my gosh!! :( I don't even know what to say! So much death and sadness for the kids in your neck of the woods in the last few years! Sigh. I'm so sorry. :(

Lily, Harry Potter! Duh! I should've known that. The only thing coming to mind was Hewlett Packard. I don't blame you one bit for staying in. I would too. My land. Oh yawn. It's dull. The sun comes up, then goes down, then comes back up again. It rains on occasion, but for the most part, even that doesn't happen often enough. We generally just get teased by a few grey clouds for a bit, but then a breeze whisks them away before they can really do anything.

Oh boy... I hope Dave's co worker makes it in, Beth. I don't imagine it's a lot of fun sleeping over at work.
