Morning!

Had a busy, but fun day yesterday. Stopped at TDS, no toppers. :( But, I got a Princess and Sorcerer Mickey snowglobe for $39.99 each! :bounce: :bounce:
Had a fun time at my SIL's...didn't get home until after midnight, though.

Welcome home Dave & JRKaren!

Karen, sounds like a busy weekend for you.

Todd, glad you survived last night. :teeth:

Nancy, so glad you enjoyed Lion King. Too bad about CF.

Elaine, hope your feeling better this morning!

Gotta go wake the boys and start getting ready for church!!

Good Morning Club med!

Welcome home Dave and Karen. Glad you're back Elaine. I know you aren't happy though. I'm sure not that I am!! I'm sure Beth will be one tuckered out puppy when she gets home! Hopefully she will have better luck getting out of MCO than Elaine and I.

Sounds like everyone had a good time yesterday. Snow Globes, funny language CD's, plays! Wow! I'm tired just thinking about it.

My day...hmmm well I got up after Jarrod came in screeching because he wanted to watch Playhouse Disney and not Noggin (told him too bad) but when I got down stairs and offered to change it he told me no he DID want to watch it

On Friday my mom pulled out a suitcase with my brother's old Legos in it (my brother is 31 yo so these have been around awhile). He had some things he had built that were missing a few pieces so I sat down to finish them. It took me 2 hours to finish one space jet. But he had every piece it required, he never lost any pieces. So the newest obsessive compulsive thing in this family right now is Legos!! heheh

After legoing for a couple of hours mom and Jarrod took Patches to the vet and I got a nap while Ethan slept. Then we went to dinner and went shopping. I asked Jarrod the one thing he really wants Santa to bring him. And it hasn't changed since October when he saw a GI joe set in Toys R Us catalog. I told him he wasn't allowed to have it because it has guns and such. I'm torn because kids of the past had toy guns and played army and such and they turned out fine...wll most of them anyway! So I think Santa is going to go against mommy and get it for him. I just have to make sure he understands what he can and can't do with it!!

No plans for today except to put more lights on the house. One of the neighbors is trying to look like the Osbornes and it is making me look like the Grinch with just my few lights on the bushes so I'm going to tackle the ladder and climb up to the roof to put lights on the top of the house. If you don't hear from me for a few days you will know that it didn't go so well!!

Have a great Sunday all!
tara

Morning all! There was snow in the air :( I miss Florida :(

I got really tired last night so I went to bed early... looks like others did as well ;)

Welcome back JRKaren!!!

Nancy, glad you had a good time! I heard it is a great show!!!

Sounds like some great buys there Sherry!

Karen good luck with the CD... and finding something better too

Tara, I do hope that Bethie has much better luck than we had! All that legoing sounds fun :teeth:

Tons of Christmas cards to do still... just moving pictures around at the moment to my desktop and then I'll download the rest. Kind of ticked off at a pic posted of me and the comment that went with. I don't always smile well on demand, but to take one while I was thinking and posting it (he didn't warn well about that pic being taken) isn't nice in my eyes...

I have been inspired by Nancy...and now I am pooped!!!!! I really have no idea why I started to bake cookies!!! But lo and behold, the baking marathon has begun! So far I have made snow balls, nut cups, potato chip cookies and dough for my sugar cookies! Today I am going to make toffee, double chocolate chip and kolachkies. I think that should do it for the cookie menu. The double chocolate will be made with a Main Street Bakery recipe. I will let you know how they turn out. So far, so good! Now all I need is a good frosting recipe for those sugar cookies......can anybody help me with that?

Welcome home, Elaine, Karen, Dave and RoseMary! Sounds like lots of fun was had by all and bali was not needed! Of course there still are a few YaYa's out on the loose! Maybe I better wait till it is all done and over before I speak.

Nancy, so glad you enjoyed the Lion King! Wasn't it fabulous? I is coming back to CHicago again, and I am going to try ot talk Greg into seeing it again. It was not one of his favorites......go figure!! But I loved it!!

Todd and Amanda, how is that busy weekend going. Hope you find a little down time and get a chance for some R&R soemwhere!!

Sherry, I can grab you some toppers.....want one or both? Just let me know! The nice thing is too, at TDS they are only $3.00 instead of $4.00. (Nancy, Beth and Dave, yours have been mailed!!!) Enjoy what is left of the weekend!!

Karen, sounds like you have a busy day planned to. Enjoy!!

JKKaren, are you recovered yet? Missed you in chat last night. I guess I popped in too late!! I bet you went to bed early last night!!

Elaine, how is the tummy feeling? Hope you have been able to recover! Sounds like a great trip! Now get those pictures up please! I see Dan had a few up..........do you EVER smile?

Suzanne, I see you were having fun with that airplane thing at Prime Time!! Doncha jsut hate it when that happens? Looks like you had a great time!!

Tina, how are things in sunny Arizona? How I wish I were somewhere warm. Want some cold weather and snow?

Tara, did the trip wear you out too? WHere have you been hiding?

Speaking of hiding......where is Pam at these days!! All teh YaYa's head home and magically, Pam disappears but yet again!! Now I know it is busy roadkill season and all....but isn't that Alan's job to collect and process it all? Or is she busy making gookies?

Boo, hiya!! I have a very easy and yummy recipe for you!!! My snowball cookies could not be easier.......and are always very well received........

1/2 c. confectioners sugar
1/4 t. salt
1 c. butter (softend to room temperature)
1 t. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Cream butter and sugar together. Add vanilla, salt and pecans. Slowly add flour. Mix well. SHape dough into little balls, about the size of an acorn and place on cookie sheet. You can put these close together as they hold their shape and really don't spread. Bake in a 400 oven for 10-12 minutes. When they start to turn slightly brown, they are done. While warm, place cookies in confactioners sugar until coated. Place on wire racks to cool.

How easy is that? Oh, and some people call these MexicanWedding Cookies too!! I usually have to make a few batches. Of cours eif it were Nancy's recipe, there wold be a bottle of vodka somewhere in there.....so I think vodka optional......Bailey's even better yet!!!!

Well, I am sure I have not caught upwith evrybody, but if I don't get my butt in gear, there are not going ot be any cookies made. Have to tun out and get some more stuff......can't imagine why I ran out of butter, sugar and flour here.....so off to get some more ingreadiants, cookie trays and whatever else catches my eye!!

Oh, one last thing...talked to Bethie!! She is ready to come home!! She is a pooped puppy!! But sounds like she has had a wonderful time!!! I think she is headed to go eat one last piece of chocolate cake, and head for home....Mears will be getting her shortly after noon!!

Anyhoo, that is all I have for now!! I will check in later!!!

Have a great day!

:flower1:

If I hear one more comment about my smile, I am going to literally SCREAM!!!!

YES, I do smile... I don't smile well on demand though... never have. My fake smile is awful, but OMG, Dan's pic of me and his comment made me blow my top. Luis has pics of me smiling and if you want I can post a pic from the JII place that Luis and I took together...

sorry, this is becoming a real sore spot with me... very much so

Hi, Ya-Yas!!!

I just had to pop in to tell you how much fun I had meeting some great Ya-Yas and their families this week!!

Elaine and Luis, Bethie, Lily and Ted- what a fun crew!!! I enjoyed every minute I spent with each of you.

I'll bet it takes JRKaren WEEKS to recover. She was one serious party animal this week. If she swears to you that she's a tee-totaler anymore, I can tell you for a fact that she's fibbing! :cool1:

(After witnessing the Nekkid Initiation Ritual, I'm pretty sure I'm too old and tired to be a Ya-Ya... :earboy2: )

Good morning.

Elaine.....saw the picture :( Sorry about that. I know we have good ones of you ::yes::
But.....I had to save if because of the others in it.

Tara....we LOVE Legos!! Dave is getting a bunch for Christmas!! He is always buying them. He has a display downstairs with a lot of the recent additions. He hasn't even gotten into the kids old ones......I'm sure he will.

Thanks for sending the toppers Liz.....and for the card and ornament too :)

Sounds like a busy day, Karen.

Liz is baking :bounce: You beat me (well, other than the ever week ones)....I haven't started by holiday baking yet. I think I need to add some Cranberry Bread to that list too ::yes::

Morning YaYas... :)

I've been so busy printing out Nancy recipes, I haven't had the time to post. :p Nancy, your goodies sound heavenly! Tom is officially on vacation now and said he wants us to do a ton of baking this year. My shopping is almost finished (insert heavenly miracle type music here) so I think we'll actually be able to play in the kitchen this year! Yay!

Welcome home little helenabear! It's so good to see you again! I missed ya! The pic... ahem... well, you know my feelings on this subject VERY well. Believe me, I hear ya. I'll leave it at that.

Hey a belated Happy Anniversary to Pam!! ...and a little birthday wish for your Mom too Pammy. How are the Christmas shopping, festivities going at your house this year? I shopped allllll day yesterday! Oh my gosh! I spent waaaay too much money!! What a dork I was!

Hi Sherry! Yeah, the 60 Minutes thing was kind've fun to see! I wish I had recorded it. Scott Stapp's voice! Ooooh! Ahhhh! Another one of my favorites!! Sigh.

Hi Tina! You're all shopped and wrapped?! I'm jealous. LOL!

Howdy to Karen! You have a busy Sunday planned m'dear! Who was the CD of? Sounds like a... uh... creative one. :p

Yay! Lion King! Isn't it fun, Nancy!? I think I'd still have to list Beauty and the Beast as my favorite of the Disney shows, but LK was a lot of fun too!

Hey there Kimmar.... wassup at your house?

Elaine... I'm so so sorry to hear a friend was lost in that shooting!! Gosh. What does someone even say? Such a tragic and horrible thing. :(

Liz is a baking machine! Goooo Liz!

Hey to Kathy... it sounds as though ya'll had a wonderful time!!

How goes the light hanging, Tara?

Okay, off to shower my slobby self and then do the Christmas decorating thang. Ho ho ho!

Afternoon Ya Yas!
We made it back safe and sound. Will ketchup probably way later. Off to a Christmas party this afternoon. Hope to check in later this evening.

We had a rocking time meeting our Ya Ya friends and other DISers as well.

I just heard from Beth. Her 3:55PM flight is now scheduled to leave at 4:45PM. The reason according to the United web site is late arriving aircraft. I know this is the third different time given. It was delayed until 4:05, then 4:15 and now 4:45. I will keep you all posted on how things are going. pirate:

Just wanted to share this... a photo of JRKaren onstage at her favorite place, preparing to be greatly embarrassed!!! :)

Hi everyone! I'm not up for posting more than a few words right now. I'm sick. I must have eaten something that didn't agree with me because I've been hurling today, and I barely have the energy to walk the twenty steps from my bed to my bathroom. Not fun.

I do have to ask Kathy if she'll let everyone know who I am pointing at in that picture though? And what happened after that point. And why doesn't she have any pictures of the actual dance--only the picture of me before the dance. Hmmmmm.

Karen

OH, and by the way, folks, that is VickyBaby in the picture with me. I got to pick two friends too come onstage with me, and VickyBaby was the first one because I knew she would be all over that. I seem to have forgotten who the second one was, though. Hmm.

Karen

Been looking at some pictures this afternoon.... found some to send on to some friends. None have been uploaded as of yet though.

Kathy, it was great to see you again! I know I had fun with you and Luis was particularly happy to have a "geek" to talk to Weds night :teeth:

Nancy, totally understand why you have to get htat pic. I found a bunch more I will send you from our cameras.

Kimmie, I think we totally understand each ohter on the picture thing... especially the one who happened to take it ;) But have fun with all the baking Tom has in store for y'all :teeth:

Welcome back Lily! Glad you made it home safely!!!

Thanks for posting that pic, Kathy... love it :teeth:

Hi, everyone . Mom and I flew home last night - what a great trip we had. I had so much fun hanging out with the Ya Ya's. Thanks for letting this semi-Ya Ya and her mom join y'all ::yes::. Maybe someday I'll get to meet those of you who couldn't make it this time.

John looked a kinda sad when he left us at the airport last night :(. Poor him. Left at Walt Disney World to fend for himself for 3 days. I hope he survives :teeth:.

Karen - I hope you feel better soon :worried:.

Bethie and Lily, showing us the tshirt they will present to JRKaren later that night, after her "performance." :cool1:

Elaine...that picture looks like he had lousy timing in snapping the picture. I'm sorry he was not so friendly in his journaling! I haven't looked through my pictures but I'm sure I have some great ones with you in them. Again thanks for letting me hang with you all. I hope having a 3rd wheel is not waht made Luis crabby the first two days!

Lights are hung on the house and I'm still here to tell about it. I feel like a popsickle!! It wasn't that cold but had a good wind chill! I'm drinking a Zima XXX. It is very good Hard Black cherry! YUM!

Looks like Bethie had about as much luck as the rest of us getting out of MCO.

UGH I know I have more to ketchup on but my brain is fried! Welcome home Lily and Krista. I'm sooo glad I got to meet you all!! I'm hoping to be able to return next year during Mousefest. Just gonna have to watch my budget and see what I can save for!

Oh well, off i go to relax until little butt wakes up. Jar and mom went to buy some extension cords for more lights so I have some quiet time!!

hugs,
tara

Glad that Bethie is on her way home by now ::yes::

Welcome back Krista!! Glad y'all made it home safely! I somehow think John might survive the last few days there ;)

Kathy, you are just full of great pics!!! :teeth:

*sigh* yep, I had a crabby husband the first 2 days... but I will say it had absolutely nothing to do with y'all. Something that happened the night before we left kind of left him in a bad mood for a few days. Trust me, I was about ready to shoot him at a couple points! I hope he didn't sour up anything for anyone though. I really ought to post one pic Luis took of us, Tara... it's really cute (the hat one!) I will have to slowly do a few of those for y'all :) Oh and you surely weren't a 3rd wheel in my book... nor Luis' we had the perfect balance of alone time and time with y'all!!!! By the end of the trip he was wonderful ::teeth:: And only had great things to say about this group :)

Tara, glad you got your lights up... I totally relate on the the cold feeling... and it is supposed to snow more tomorrow... *sigh*
