Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Welcome! This is a great challenge and very motivating. Are you going to ww meeting and doing the new program? I really like that you can total your activity points for the week and use them on a different day if you want to. Good luck.

I have not been to a meeting since early December..and my weight shows! I am planning on going next Thursday morning, we had a delay at school today so I could not make today's meeting.

What is the "COW" I keep reading about?

Oh dinner tonight is a frozen WW entree and lots of baby carrots. I am working tonight so I really have to try not to eat all the food. (I work in a restaurant!)

Popping in to say hi!:wave2: I don't have much time, I need to take DD to the doctor and I need to leave in a few minutes. I didn't do as good as I wanted yesterday, but I stepped on the scale anyway this morning and I am back down to the same weight as last week!:cool1: Happy to say I will get another maintain in this week! I am really going to work hard to win the BL competition at DH's work!

QOTD: Stretching. No, I don't get enough in, and I am noticing that an old hip injury on my left is really keeping my TaeKwonDo kicks down on my left side. I think I am going to really have to stretch it out so I can get more flexibility in on that side.

QOTD: What's for dinner? don't know yet,:confused3 whatever DH makes!:thumbsup2 He cooks dinner because I usually am working late hours. And today I have to run DD to the MD. Thank heavens he's a good cook!

I read everyones replies, and I wish I had more time to reply to everyone, but this one caught my eye and I had to send a hug out...

I have really been struggling. I allowed myself to "give in" to my feeling sorry for myself this weekend and now of course am struggling to get back into routine.

I don't know why I allowed myself to eat my feelings. I KNOW that it does nothing to help and in the end only hurts.

I am so not looking forward to the scale tomorrow. I know I will have gained. And I know it is my own darn fault.

:grouphug: hugs to you! We have all done this, and I hope you start to feel better soon. What's done is done, and now it is time to move on and get past it. Try and learn from it. What triggered it? Can that be avoided in the future?

Oh, I have to really run, just sending out hugs and I wish I had more words of wisdom for you... but I do have another hug!:grouphug:

COW Week 4

Ok, we have survived another week!

This week you need to….

Drink 8 cups of water a day
Eat 3 servings of veggies a day
Walk 5,000 steps a day ~about 2.5 miles depending on your stride (the goal is 10,000 a day ~5 miles, but we will start slow. If you make 10,000 by all means let me know! I am officially upping this to 10,000 next week so be prepared)
Eat two servings of fruit a day

Here is a refresher of the COW rules in case you are new or forgot. I will post a new COW sometime every Thursday. Each challenge week begins 12:01 am Friday morning and runs till midnight Thursday night. I figure posting the COW on Thursday gives you a little time to “plan” out how best to complete the challenge before the clock starts. Please email or PM me your score by Monday morning of the following week. (So tomorrow’s challenge score is “due” the 9th, although I recommend you pm or email it to me on Friday when you email Brenda your weight.)
If you chose not to do the COWs at all, or only get around to doing a few items on the list that is perfectly fine. The idea is to get you thinking and doing new things on this road to a new you, not to stress you out.

So here is how this version will work. Every Thursday I will post a new task to add to the previous tasks. This should help you establish good habits during this BL. I got this idea from the 12 days of Christmas song actually. So,

Week 1 all you need is the partridge and the pear tree
Week 2 you will need the turtle doves and the partridge
Week 3 you need the French Hens, turtle doves and partridge
And it goes on

COW Week 2 Scores

Our numbers are dwindling a little bit, but we are still going strong. 4 people drank their water and ate their veggies every day this week!. Way to go! :cheer2:
12 others were nearly there.

I would like to congratulate, Debbie, donac, jimmduck and Tammy NC for being perfectly on track for two weeks in a row!

A very funny member (you know who your are) suggest V8 for the veggies. Great suggestion! :thumbsup2

Question of the Day What's for Dinner?

I think I am going to get some fish for myself and feed the guys soup or grilled cheese.

Carla, Thanks for making the COW this week so easy. I already have 2 fruits besides the 3 veggies so I know I can ace this week. Yesterday with the snow day was a little hard to get the 500o steps in but I did it. I am looking at another perfect week.

Good luck everyone else.

QOTD -- What's for dinner tonight?

For dh I am making turkey and garlic mashed potatoes. For me it will be grilled BBQ (spice not sauce) chicken and salad, plus one of my new flavored coffees that the FedEx man should be delivering as we speak. I am on my very restricted diet till the end of next month, so 2 dinners a day for us for a few more weeks.

LOST MY PEDOMETER SOMEWHERE BETWEEN MY CAR AND THE OFFICE. SNOW PLOW CAME WHILE I WAS LOOKING FOR IT. I MAY FIND IT IN THE SPRING. :sad1:

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday! And I am the COW queen with no pedometer. I plan on running out tomorrow and buying a new one.

Raenstorm - we should start an "I hate Comcast" group on Facebook or something. I am always having problems with comcast, for some reason.

They claim to have fixed my internet today and dh says it is working, but the question is for how long? :confused3

Wow. Missed a bunch of qotd's. Author--Living Stephen King, Bradbury, Koontz. Deceased- Heinlein, Michael Crichton (still shocked and sad about him). Well everyone knows what King writes, Bradbury, scifi, Crichton everyone knows-(Jurassic Park, etc.) Koontz is horror I guess. (with a great sense of humour)

Yeah I stretch before the treadmill/stepper routine I do, not sure about stretching before swimming though- doesn't seem like anyone else does.

Dinner-- well I work at 5, so maybe I'll make an early dinner of steak and sweet potato fries.

Been doing the pedometer, the first day I did 3900 something like that- we were in Portland that day. The second day it said I did 2 steps. I think my pants may have been too loose? The next day was 4700?, on a day I worked a 5 hour shift it was 10780 something like that anyway. and yesterday I forgot it. I'm pretty sure any day I work it will be well over 10000.

Dinner tonight....BBQ shredded chicken sandwiches on whole wheat rolls.

:wave2: Hi Venetia! Do you buy the meat already shredded and bbq'd or do you make it?

Dinner for us - I'm thinking whitefish with a special k citrus topping, spinach salad and corn. But it'll depend on how much snow I have to shovel first.;)

Raenstoirm,

I think I may have reported incorrectly last week. I've been listing each thing separately, and reporting how many days I did each one, individually. It sounds like what you're asking for is the number of days in which (for this week), we drank the water, ate the veggies, and walked. Is that correct?

TIA

This week's weigh in won't be good I'm guessing. I haven't had time to work out, but I have been trying to control the calories for the most part. But even my water consumption has been down. Not good.

Wow! you have had just a little bit of stress this week huh? :faint: I'm glad to hear your DH is recovering nicely. I think you are ahead of the game realizing that life's circumstances made it impossible to follow through on your plan, and that happens. by saying you are ahead....you see it and reverse it quickly instead of letting the continued stress give you excuses for another day or couple days off plan. I think our bodies react to the 'normal' of our routine, and a day occasionally off track doesn't mean failure

I have just joined.

:welcome: glad you have your enthusiasm here! i need a good dose of inspiration on thursday to think back on when weekend temptations come!

I have really been struggling. I don't know why I allowed myself to eat my feelings. I KNOW that it does nothing to help and in the end only hurts.

 Christa - i have been there too :guilty: one thing I have taken from my WISH friends is to let those choices/reactions go. bye-bye now :wave2: they are in the past and have no bearing on your present or future. you get in your zone and then you fly...I have seen you do this and I know you have it inside to do it again. this journey is hilly, the ups and downs are just being real...if we could decide we wanted to be thinner/stronger/healthier and then it just happened. well we wouldn't be here, in fact WISH wouldn't exist. right?

didn't mean to ramble or corner you sorry :crazy2: i just got on a thought and it rolled......

thanks everyone for sharing authors!!

today is my last day of coaching this week....it's been an honor :thumbsup2 i'm passing the torch to a trusted BL friend... ::yes::

AND that would be me.

I will be the coach for the next week. I picked this week since we are in midterms this week and I may have some extra time. I have a lot of things to do but I have to be at school every afternoon after exams. I have found that if I bring my lunch then I can just work and eat at the same time. I have to keep really busy so that I don't go up to the library where they have snacks and things. I need to keep away.

Tomorrow morning willbe my first Question of the Day. Now I better go and think of one. :rotfl: HAve a great evening. Off to get some quilting done.

Good Friday morning.

Thanks Maria for the warm welcome.

I am the same as I was last week. Okay since I lost 4.8 pounds last week so my body needs to readjust.

It is cold here in jersey this morning but it is supposed to warm uup this weekend.

MY school starts exams today. WE have to go through 20 minute classes and then a 2 hour exam. The classes are tough because those kids are only worried about their exam today and could care less about your class since that exam is not until next week. The big problem this week is the food set up in the library so that there is coffee and... Usually too much good food. I need to keep busy in my classroom. I will be bringin my lunch so I will les tempted.

Don't have too much more time this morning so I will post my thoughtful question of the day.

Question of the Day
How many timees have you been to Disney World?

HAve a great day.

Dona -- you just made me feel better. I had a big loss last week, and stayed the same this week, too. Thank you for pointing out that my body needs to readjust!

Now I just need to have a good week coming up, and things will fall into place.

Wishing everyone a great weekend!
Maria

Hi everyone - I've been MIA from the board but the key words are still "in action." When I've wanted to have chips for lunch I've had salad instead to get those darn veggies in - always a struggle for me. When I've wanted a diet coke I've had water instead, and one day I was at 4600 steps so I walked around the house to break 5000. This has really stuck in my head and I have to say huge thank yous!i

I had a great week weight loss - down 5.2 pounds. That has to be read with a caveat though - I was up last Friday due to Pizza Hut and weight gain (water retention had a lot to do with it I'm sure!). Still I'm excited - I needed those numbers! So I'm down a total of 8.4 over the 4 weeks we've been doing this.:cheer2:

I jumped back in and haven't read posts except the previous page. It sounds like this week has been a struggle - my best advice is hang in there and think about this thread and post. It's been great for me. Thank you everyone!:grouphug:

An update on my parents: my mom is finally doing better and is in a rehab center, my dad will be going in for surgery to have his stomach removed in a few weeks. Great news in that the cancer has not spread from his stomach. They've asked me to come down (they are in Orlando, I'm in Indy) to help so I'll be seeing how that will work with my job, DH, and DD. Side question - dd is in 5th grade, I'm thinking I'd like to take her with me. My parents are mid-late 70s. What do you guys think? Am I being emotional?

This weeks cow will be great for me too. Love the partridge in a pear tree method. :)

Good Friday morning.
Hi Dona! You have a great attitude regarding your lack of loss this week.:cheer2: Sometimes we all forget that our body fluctuates and we just need to roll with it. (Me, I'm rolling all the time! :rotfl: This week, I lost my infamous 0.9 pounds (thank you Wii Fit for that information :upsidedow )
Question of the Day
How many times have you been to Disney World?
I've been to Disney World 15 times.

Have a great day everyone. The weekend is here. Stay STRONG!

Oh! I forgot to do the QOTD! I've been to DisneyWorld six times -- honeymoon, three family trips and twice for the WDW Half Marathon!

Maria
