My short term goal is to get out of the 180's and get back to the 170's. I can't beleive I ever let my weight creep up that much. I remember when I made it to the 160s a few years ago. I thought that was bad. I should have changed a few habits back then!
You can do it, we can help. Don't dwell too much onthe past. You can't change what has happened. You can change what you are going to do about it.
To have my evening weigh in number be the same number as current morning weigh in number.
I would love to go to bed feeling as thin as I do when I wake up. This may seem strange but I always wake up feeling thinner than when I go to bed.
I hope this does not come across wrong, but it is not a good idea to weight multiple times. Your weight fluctuates so much throughout the day. When you wake up you have not been eating for several hours. During the day you eat and drink, and most people find that morning weigh ins show lower numbers than evening weigh ins. In fact, research has shown that people who weigh on a daily basis are less likely to stick with it because those little fluctuations become discouraging. I would encourage you to find another goal. Whatever you choose, we are here to support you.
Well I have had a slight change in plans, I won't call it a set-back.
I was supposed to stay after work on Friday and do my 30 minutes of cardio and my C25K workout. Due to a snowstorm I decided to leave work with everyone else and get home safely (my 20 minute drive took me 50 minutes).
I planned to then head out today to the gym after the roads were cleared. The weather had another story in mind. We are still getting snow.
I decided to take mother nature by the horns and trade my treadmill workout for a 45 minute snow shoveling workout.
I could have just sat on my caboose and watched the snow pile up but I summoned the motivation and got in a good workout!
Have a great night everyone!
It's awesome that you did not let the weather change your plans. Not only did you get a great workout, you also got your shovelling done. Sometimes those types of workouts are the best!
Drinking water was my big positive change
followed closely by exercising.
Having my fat clothes not be tight any more.
I have lost 5.5lbs...not quite sure how but I'll take it..Hoping next week has at least some loss.
I've said it before I'll say it again. OWN YOUR WEIGHTLOSS! Obviously something you did worked. Keep up the good work, and CONGRATULATIONS!
My first goal of this is ten more pounds. this should take me down from a size 38 waist to a size 36. second part of this is should help alot with my blood sugar. I will continue to eat better and walk the steps at school. in the first week I dropped 8.3 pounds just with walking and a MAJOR change in eating, how much of this was due to overeating and drinking to much soda? this week I want to add sit-up and push ups.
Great job on dropping 8.3 lbs. I hear you about the blood sugar issue. It sounds like you are a college student. Do you have a campus rec center? Ours is fre, and we can even make free appointments with a personal trainer. Is that something your campus offers? It could be helpful.
My day today was good. Totally OP!!! For the COW - I got in 8 glasses of water. No pain today either - so far so good. I wonder if these cranberry pills I started taking (I don't take them everyday because I forget - maybe one a week if I'm lucky) have helped? At first I thought they burned my bladder, but the next time it felt fine. Hmm....maybe I should take another cranberry pill tonight. I was having a lot of pain in November and early Dec, but the past week or two I really haven't had much bladder pain. Using the bathroom all the time, but no pain - thank goodness.
I tried a new smoothie tonight - the amounts can be adjusted - this is just what I used.
1 cup plain lowfat organic plain yogurt, 16g 88% dark organic chocolate, 19g organic peanut butter, 1 frozen banana - It was milkshake like since only the banana is frozen. It was like having a frozen chocolate banana in a drink. The chocolate was slightly chunky - enough to chew tiny bits. YUMMO!!
I planned on exercising this afternoon, but since I slept half the day away, by the time I cleaned the house, cooked dinner etc. it was late.
GREAT OP day Melanie!!!!!!
When I posted before I had not yet weighed. I weighed and found out I lost 9.2 lbs this week!!! I was very excited, but this week ... dear Aunt Flo is visiting and we are in Disney so... I will be drinking lots of water, hopefully that will keep me from snacking to much! My goal for the month was 8lbs. I have increased it to 12 (figureing I won't lose as much the next couple weeks).
9.2?! AWESOME POSSUM! I think you may be pleasantly surprised about how well you do at Disney. I remember when we went to Disney and then on the
Disney cruise I ended up losing a couple of lbs even though I did not watch what I ate at all. There was just so much activity that it more than made up for it. No matter what happens, ENJOY DISNEY!
It took me awhile to read all the posts, but congrats to all of you for your losses this week.
I am down 1.5 lbs this week. I have been following the same diet for almost 6 months. I am still going strong and still have a long way to go.
What is one positive change you made the first week of the challenge?
I am drinking more water. Still not as much as I should, but instead of grabbing a bottle of pop, I grab a bottle of water.
What is your first goal you are reaching for? (A smaller step toward your ultimate goal). It can be a specific weight, clothing size, behavior change, whatever you want.
I have hit so many goals so far, but I would say right now, My goal is to hit the 100's. A place I have not been to in many, many years. I am very close and should be able to hit it within the next month or so....at least I hope.
Good luck all you losers this week.
I can't wait to welcome you to ONEderland! Great job losing your 1.1 lbs. It sounds like you have been working at this for a while now and are doing great. That is always inspiring to hear.
Hi everyone. I'm new here and just read through everything. Wow-I haven' really thought of a goal or a motivation. My motivation is I still have little kids that I want to ride roller coasters and go boogie boarding with! I have 4 boys and a wonderful husband. Good
It sounds like you have 5 wonderful motivators in yoru life. good luck riding those roller coaster!
I am so proud of myself. I woke up and exercised right away. I did the Biggest Loser Cardio Max DVD. Usually I just do the warm up, cardio 1 and cool down. THis time I added in the cardio 2. It was a great workout and I was sweating!
I am really working on increasing my push up position for testing. Right now I make it to 1 minute and a few seconds, this week I am going to push it to 1 1/2 minutes and keep increasing. I want to make the push up position all the way at testing.
Vija: Great job having an OP day. Keep it up!
Good Sunday to all BL WISHers.
It is so inspiring to log on and read about all the challanges and sucesses everyone is sharing. I have thought often of "what would my fellow BL's do" when I am in a tempting or diffucult situation.
My first goal is to get in to my jeans. Not just any jeans. Let me explain....I have been doing WW since Sept of 06. After doing WW for about 11 months, I had lost just over 50 lbs. (At which time I had just bought 2 new pairs of Jeans.)
Then on aug 1st of 2007, my DM passed away very unexpectdly. Big shock in my life. But even during this time of grief, I never quit attending my meetings. But I did let the weight gradually creep back on. It was an up and down ride. But more ups then down. Also throw in there a 15 day
DCL cruise and a 7 day mexican cruise and low and behold, I had added back on 28 of the 50 lbs I had lost, and now find those jeans VERY uncomfortable to wear,(but not impossible as they were getting to big for me and I was almost ready to get a smaller size.)
So getting these jeans to be comfortable again is my short term goal.
I hope those jeans become comfortable very soon.
I think I've caught up on the latest posts. Good job, everybody! Wow, Krisi! Great loss! I'm going to WDW in a couple of weeks and I plan to walk a LOT. Trying to gear up for it, physically and figuratively. I ordered a pedometer, will let you all know how many steps I figure it takes to walk around WDW.
I just joined the challenge this week, will weigh in on Monday.
Saturday's question of the day: What is your first goal you are reaching for? (A smaller step toward your ultimate goal). It can be a specific weight, clothing size, behavior change, whatever you want.
My interim goal is to get down to the "overweight" BMI instead of the "obese". My Wii will tell me when that happens. I wonder if it will stop saying "oh" when I step on it then.
I'm starting to get jealous of all y'all and your Wii's. Good luck getting down to that BMI, it will happen.
Sunday is going good, accidently oversleep and was a few minutes late for church (uggh that is so embarrassing). Food is going well today, I'm behind in water - I've had two cups so far - better get drinking or I'll be chugging to much at night.
I'm really feeling in such control right now....but I know how thin the ice is at the beginning of being back in that wagon. One day at a time........just rolling along!
Melanie: It sounds like you are doing really wonderful. Keep it up!
I just reached a small milestone I wanted to share. I usually wear an XL shirt but can wear some bigger Large shirts. We went to
Disneyland several months ago and I found two shirts I really liked. They were out of XL so I bought them in Large. Of course they were too snug. I was able to wear one yesterday and it fit great! I'm wearing the other one today.
We are leaving soon for a birthday party for our friends' DD. They have pizza and cake so we are eating a filling light lunch before we leave so we don't scarf down everything we see at their house.
-steve
Steve, you know how when you are a kid you "grow in" to clothing? Well, as an adult I find I love "shrinking in" to clothing. I have a whole box in my spare room with clothes that no longer fit, sadly, that includes the majority of my Disney clothes. Congratulations on being able to wear those shirts!
I so agree with this - we want everything to happen overnight, but it just doesn't. Progress is more important than perfection and slow changes usually are more long lasting - IMHO.
Most postive change the first week - staying in control and insisting upon the weigh in - even though it was not "my day"
Measurable goals for the challenge? This time, for me, this challenge is all about control. I need to stay in control, while my relative with the eating disorder deals with ending her "controls". I am watching this person closely and trying hard to listen to my body.
Oh - and I want a real good time on my 10k in May, and dropping a weight "group" would be nice too, but control is my biggest goal because it is my biggest sabotage.
Another snowstorm here - I got to church but could not get to the gym. Cannot go in the morning as I have four court appearances and start too early, but hoping to get there in the evening.
It has been hard to stay in control today because I am having a "hungry day" - but have been tracking points.
Have appointments with the trainer booked, but she was busy for a couple of weeks.
Have been watching with interest the Disney marathon results and pics - I am dying to know what the new medals look like.
Have a magical losing week folks - you are all doing great.
Linda
Linda, you have such a positive attitude. I know you will do well in May. Good luck!
I just added the popcorn I had for a snack while watching 24 and when I was done it said I had eaten 7134 calories
I had entered it wrong, lol.
Sunday is done and all OP! 8 cups of water, today was hard to get it down. The last 2 cups I heated in the microwave and added lemon juice to it. That made it much easier to get down cuz it was warm. Cold water this time of year is not easy to stomach when your not eating or thirsty.
Dinner tonight was my kids favorite - UNfried Rice - very easy and so yummy. I have 2 cups for lunch tomorrow.
(Brown Rice - 2 cups uncooked, I think that would make 4 cups cooked. Start rice, then cook 1lb ground turkey, with one small onion and 4-6 cups garlic. I then rinse the meat mixture and put back in the pan. Add shredded carrots, rice, thawed peas (I don't count how much -maybe a 4th of a frozen package- you dont want too many, but you want enough), then I scramble 4 eggs and 1 egg white with 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Add the eggs to the rice mixture and mix all together. I also add a little salt and pepper to the meat and a little to the end product. I really go light on the salt. Also, you can use soy sauce - it tastes good without soy sauce too.
I have also been hungry for potatoes lately, so I made my healthier version of potatoes for breakfast tomorrow. I cut 2 red potatoes in small pieces, add chopped onions and garlic and microwave till tender. Then I added 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a ceramic baking dish and popped in the oven for a bit to crisp up. I threw it in the fridge till tomorrow and then I will make some scrambled egg whites with one whole egg. YUMMO breakfast - and I've been craving the potatoes. They say that if you add olive oil to the potatoes, it slows down how fast your body breaks the carbs from the potatoes down in your stomach. This helps it not spike your insulin, plus by eating with the protein from the eggs it will be the perfect balance of fat, carbs and protein.
Here is to a great week for all of us
Aren't those little mistakes always so amusing? Congratulations on finishing out the day OP.
Good Sunday night, everyone.

I always do OK with my water during the week, because I do drink a lot at work during the day. But I'm pretty bad on weekends. So thanks to the COW, I managed to get in more than 70oz of water each day this weekend.
Didn't get exercise in yesterday, so today I went out for a 45 minute TRUDGE thru the snow in my new walking boots.

It snowed quite a bit last night, and not too many people had shoveled their sidewalks by noon. So it was more of an endurance thing rather than a power walk ... but it was definitely a workout.
Hope everyone has a wonderful start to their week.
I
I'm glad that the COW is helping you and that you were able to go out and nejoy the snow. Maybe our posters who are snowed in should go sledding? You burn calories and have fun! No reason it has to be tedious.
Hmm - It's only 4 more pounds, so I'm not sure of what I could give myself. I hope this comes within the next 3 weeks, so that will hopefully be by the end of the month. I know - I'll buy myself a new kindle book, or maybe a new workout video. What I will do is see what is out there after I lose it and buy one or the other - OR BOTH, lol!
DO BOTH!
