Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

I lost 1.8 pounds last week, so that's closes to 5 over the last 2 weeks. I was so glad to see that, I expected to gain since I had the pizza but the rest of the week had been good choices so it balanced out.

Favorite DVD - don't have one! I've tried a bunch of them but I prefer the treadmill or walking the furbabies outside.

Favorite book - I really like the BL books. There are some good recipes in them. I wish they'd have a book "a day in the life" of one of the contestants...what time they get up, what they eat, how sore are they, their highs and lows...

:beach: Just had to put that in there so I can dream of some warmth! :)

Hi guys,

I'm down 2.1 this week. Thrilled for any loss at this point in my journey so this is fantastic,

Vija - how cow! What a big week!!!:cheer2:

All the best everyone,

Lisa

thanks Princess Vija and Melanie on the congrats!

Congrats to everyone who is losing and lost this week! Big Hi five!

Question of day: Motivation

My motivation is really to look better. I want to be healthier too. But I really want to not have a huge flabby stomach anymore that is equal to others when they are 6 months pregnant! Of course having a smaller stomach goes right along with better health.

Also being a healthy role model to my girls is a huge motivator. They are not overweight and I don't want them to be.

Favorite DVD; not sure. I like the Firm series with the Transfirmer step. I enjoy my elliptical. But I think my favorite thing is to go on a walk with my family down a nature trail. Preferably when it's warmer though!

AS for me I gained 1lb this week. Not terrible since I was at Disney last week and I didn't really try to not eat bad.

Good luck everyone!!:upsidedow

Congratulations all you losers! I am UP almost 4 lbs, so I am even heavier than I was when I started almost 2 weeks ago. *sigh*

Hello all you wonderful Losers! I've just joined this challenge and wanted to say hello and introduce myself.

My name is Corinna. I'm 35 and mom to two fabulous boys ages 10 and 5 1/2 (don't forget the half!) and married to my wonderful husband of nearly 12+ years. I have gained and lost and gained and lost many times before, and not just a few pounds here and there, 30, 40, 50 pounds. Which takes some effort in both directions, I must say. I'd like to lose about 40 pounds from where I am right now, and then I'd like to fail to gain it back again. I just got back from Marathon Weekend - I ran the half marathon and had a great time, but I am a little shocked by how big I look in my pictures. This has got to be the wackiest "I was shocked by my Disney photos" motivation ever....

Over the next 12 weeks (or what is it now? 10?) I would like to have a goal of 12 pounds. If I can lose about a pound a week for the next year, I'll be nearly unrecognizable at next year's half-marathon! I'm following Weight Watcher's online and running about 3-4 times a week. I am going to do strength training with resistance bands 2-3 times a week.

Thanks to everyone who participates on this thread. I have been reading along for the past few days and I must say, the power of this many people pulling in the same direction is going to be unstoppable!

Question of day: Motivation

I really hate it when I hate to have my picture taken. I want to be able to ENJOY having my picture taken.

Favorite DVD: I have just started a new resistance band DVD workout that came with a covered bad I got at Target. How bad is it that I don't know what it's called? It is part of the Giam product line.

My favorite old standby, though, (and I can't find it right now!) would have to be Sweatin' to the Oldies 2. Ah, the work out fashions of the 80's.

Favorite Book: A three way tie between the "Beck Diet Solution," "Stop Stuffing Yourself," and "How Thin People Think: A Common Sense Guide of Hints and Helpers from the Thinking Thin."

Congratulations all you losers! I am UP almost 4 lbs, so I am even heavier than I was when I started almost 2 weeks ago. *sigh*

Hang in there Robin. :flower3: Let it go. It's a new week. All the best to you.

Hi Corinna! :wave2:

Welcome. :flower3:

I read The New Fit or Fat by Covert Bailey years ago. And it changed the way I think about exercise for life.

It clearly shows you how it's not all about burning calories. It's about making your body a fat burning furnace. I don't agree with everything in it; but my gosh it clears up a lot of crap out there.

Congratulations all you losers! I am UP almost 4 lbs, so I am even heavier than I was when I started almost 2 weeks ago. *sigh*

It's ok. It may be some muscle mass instead. And I'm sure mine will either be up next week or about the same. Hang in there!

Hi there. I'm fairly new here as well. Well, I'm not new on the Dis boards, but this is the first challenge I've done. So we shall be newbies together!!

I forgot to answer most of my questions:

I don't really have a favorite DVD but my favorite class at the moment is BodyJam (hip hop inspired).
I don't have a favorite diet book.

Something you guys don't know about me is that I have a 3-legged Jack Russell Terrier by the name of LuLu. She "found" me while I was checking the mail about 11 years ago and she has been the Queen of the house ever since.. (she had 4 legs when she found me...the 3 legs is a long story).
There are some other interesting (i guess) things I could share but she is one of my favs!

Also, I don't think I said how much I lost this week...2 pounds.

And, since I posted the Tom Petty lyrics earlier I came up with different words so here goes: "you can stand me up at the scales from H*** but I won't back down." That is what I plan on doing this week....staying off of that stinking scale!!!

Good luck to everyone.... it's a new week and a new start.

I lost 1.1 this week, which is less than I hoped, but is still okay:upsidedow . Hopefully next week is more. I ate ok this week, but didn't do enough exercising. I am getting used to drinking all the water everyday, and adding in the veggies this week should be no problem.

I don't really have a favourite excercise video or diet book. I do some WiiFit, some exercise bike and some swimming.

No change which I'm thankful for since my eating has been crap but my exercising has been really good.

hey all !
i had a whopping loss of .8 this week ...thats ok though, i went away the past weekend and my eating was a bit over the 35 allotted flex pts so i will take any loss i can get today :)
i am going to try out the Jillian Michaels WII fit game today!

I am down 3 lbs this week.

I am quite surprised by this because my eating wasn't all that stellar. I did get my exercise in and my water too.

I am pleased.....since the challenge began I am down 5 lbs total!

Way to go all you losers! Keep up the good work!

Juanita

You are not alone in this category. I gained a pound this week.:sad2:
Misery loves company :crazy2:. It was really tough to log in and admit that I failed. Well ... I'm gonna own those extra pounds, put 'em behind me and do my best to make 'em go away.

Friday's Question of the Day: What is your favorite workout DVD and Why (or if you don't have one - your favorite way to exercise and why) and What is your favorite Diet/Health book and why?

Welcome to Week 3 of BL7
:moped: :drive: :moped:

Keep on that wagon - One day at a time, One meal at a time!
If you fall off, we will pick you up!! Remember we are all in this WAGON together. Keep on driving!! :drive:

My fav exercise depends on my mood. It's either pilates if I'm stessed, or taebo if I'm have an excited day, or if I need a get up and go in the morning. My fav book you have to be a book of a friends I read, but I cannot find it since I borrowed it from my friend. The only thing as far as finding a copy is it's by Emmie. Errr I wish I could find that book!!! It is a very good read. It's about a plus size model and her tips to impress.

Uh... this week has been bad. I've gone back and forth between 223 and 222 all week :guilty: :sad2: :crazy2: My final this morning was 222.4 so I'm only down a half a pound. It also doesn't help my "friend" is visiting.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to reduce bloating?!

I guess I'm going to have to bump up the exercise. I've been doing a major cleaning this week, I mean sweating all day. I have "gutted" the kitchen dining and living room of my house to clean under everything and rearrange b/c I'd gotten tired of where things were in the kitchen, but I guess it doesn't take the place of true exercise.

Sorry if it has been posted. What is this week's challenge?

Also, would there be a possibility of having the challenges tacked at the top of this section, so it could be easy to find each week?

Challenge for this week is to keep up with the water and to eat 3 servings of veggies everyday.

Friday's Question of the Day: What is your favorite workout DVD and Why (or if you don't have one - your favorite way to exercise and why) and What is your favorite Diet/Health book and why?

Favorite DVD is Yoga for Weightloss Susan D
Favorite Book You on a Diet Very basic.

Lost 6 lbs. this week - this is my first week of really concentrating on what I eat. Walked 2 miles today - here in the south it was cold but NOT near as cold as most of you are experiencing!

I have decided for every day I exercise I am going to buy a song for my new best friend - the purple ipod!! I get three this week! :cool1:

Favorite workout DVD/Book would be the Biggest Loser (an early edition).

For all of you who had a losing week :cheer2: :cheer2: congratulations!!

For those of you how gained pixiedust: It's a new week!! Get on the wagon and forget about the past week!!! You can do it!!

Good Friday, losers!! :wave2:
First: Nik's Mom and robinb, Please don't be discouraged!! Keep on plugging away, be consistent and see what happens next week. Remember, on BL how Jillian and Bob kept saying."The dreaded Week 2.." ? This is why!! If you are exercising and watching your calories, next week will be good!! Don't give in to the dark side of emotional eating!!! YOU HAVE NOT FAILED!! :cool1: That's some booty kicking... Goodness, we are in this together, and we WILL make it. You've started making some changes and that is a GREAT thing!!

Favorite exercise DVD: I have lots of Leslie Sasone and like to mix them up. I really like the way she shows you how to make the moves to your level with the weights. One of my goals is to make it all the way through The Biggest Loser The Workout (with Bob) DVD.

Favorite book: hmmm..As someone said earlier..the Bob Greene book, "Get with the Program" had lots of good, sensible, information in it. Sorry that it's not around any longer.

One meal at a time!! :thumbsup2 Anne
