Welcome to Disneyland Tour?

Do they use your tickets to get the FP's for you?

I'm thinking not, which would give you a chance to get at least one before the tour and then another after the tour.

Yes, she took our tickets twice, once for Indy and another ride I can't remember. (Should have taken notes!) And then she gave us two bonus FP - Soarin' and Star Tours.

Wonder what would happen if I've already used the tickets to get FP's and the window hasn't opened up by the time we make it to the ride during the tour.

I don't know. The CM took out tickets while we waited, so I don't know if she can override the system or not.

We will only be in Disneyland one day. Should we do this?

I am not sure whether you should do it if you have only one day. It also depends on whether you have EE and when the parks open as well. Do you have one day for DL then another day for DCA or do you only have one day for both parks? It may take up too much time if you only have one day for both parks. Also, if it opens late then you can't do much before the tour. If you plan to take a mid-day break, then you really would lose a lot of touring time. It really depends...

I have EE on the day of the tour and plan to do as much as possible (riding and getting FPs) then go on the tour. You may want to come up with a touring plan for the day with all the rides you want to do, and then see if you can fit in the 2.5 hours for the tour. (The tour starts at 10:30 am and you will need to check in 15 mins earlier.) This may give you a better picture.

Have fun planning! :goodvibes

DH and I did the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour, because I wanted to be able to go INSIDE Club 33~! Now, granted, we were only able to go into the foyer and elevator, and not go UP THE ELEVATOR into the actual restaurant. But that was the closest I'll ever come to it!

we have one day planned for each park: One on the Tueday before Thanksgivng and one on the Friday after (I know, crowds:scared1:). I hate to ask, but what does EE mean? (I know I am clueless...) We are not staying on poperty if that matters.

Thanks so much!

EE means early entry, similar to Magic Morning. EMH is EE for onsite hotel guests. APEE is EE for annual passholders. If you have EE you can get into the park one hour earlier than park opening time. Onsite guests can go to either park one hour early any day of the week until Sept. 29. APEE is Mon, Wed. and Fri for DL and Tu, Th, Sa and Su for DCA until Spet. 13. Everyone get an MM to DL on Tu, Th, Sa or Su with 3 or more Park hopper tickets. If you have an EE, you have an extra hour to tour the parks. Since you are stay offsite and visiting 2 days, you will not have any MM or EE.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

So to you get two generic fastpasses at the end? I was just wondering if you could use them for carsland.

It doesn't sound like this tour includes a parade.

But for those who asked about the VIP viewing for the DL parade, we were gifted with VIP seats to it from a CM (unfortunately at a time of year we really did not need it) and we personally found the VIP viewing area to be too far away for our taste. It was up above main street behind the train station. We would rather have been on the sidewalk of main street.

Sorry to bring this back up but do you have to have park hopper tickets to do this tour since you go to both parks or does the CM override your entrance into CA?

Can anyone tell me exactly how long the tour lasts? I believe I read that it's 2 and a half hours, but does it ever go over?

I made reservations at Blue Bayou for 1:50 the same day, but I'd like to check in at 1:30 and hopefully get a waterside table. I'm sure I'll be okay, but you never know. (I'd imagine it would run short, if anything!)

How much "behind the scenes" or "history of DL" does this tour give you? Is this an opportunity to learn more things, or is more just to bypass some lines and get FPs easier?

Man, I am really crossing my fingers I didn't make a mistake booking this. We are disney vets, the basic teaching doesn't interest us. We were looking for a way to get on some key rides quickly and some FP's. For some reason, I thought the FP's were for any ride you picked, not just select rides. I just read a post from someone got the Frankenweenie exhibit (considered the stage show instead of Aladdin I guess), rode PotC, and the railroad, then for their 3 FP's they got ST, Soarin' and WoC... really? WoC?

Now that would be lame for your tour bonus :)

I posted a fairly detailed review of my experience with this tour (from mid September) if you can search for it. But basically what I said was this:

Our "attractions" were the railroad (from New Orleans Square to Tomorrowland), Pirates, and the third was supposed to be The Muppets but it was closed for Frankenweenie (it was the first day I believe) and our guide didn't know what to do so we headed over to It's Tough To Be A Bug instead.

We also received priority seating for Aladdin. We were able to choose which time we wanted to see it later in the day.

The Fast Passes that we picked up along the way were Tower of Terror (we inserted our own tickets for it) and World of Color. When the tour ended we were given Soarin and Star Tours FPs.

We also received a Welcome to Disneyland lanyard and pin.

Thanks for the info. That is pretty much what another person told me, although they did not mention getting Aladdin ressies for later. I guess I need to rework my touringplan to kind of fit these in.

Couple more questions...
1) Where did the tour start?
2) Did you need to pick up tickets beforehand or just show up with your confirm #?

The person on the phone was not helpful at all..

Thanks for your info :thumbsup2

It started at the Tour Gardens. We went immediately over to DCA and it seemed like we spent most of our time there.

We didn't pick up any tickets. We just showed up a half an hour early and checked in with the confirmation number. After we checked in we went to the restroom and over to a shop to look around for a bit and went back to the Tour Gardens and sat down. About 15 minutes before the tour was to begin our guide came over to us and kind of explained the dining reservations we were able to make, and that's when they asked us when we'd want to see Aladdin. While we were on the tour someone was back in the little office printing up our "itinerary," which was our entry ticket to Aladdin (and I'm sure it would've listed restaurant reservations if we had made them) and that was presented to us at the end of the tour.

Bumping in hopes that someone might have some recent experience to share about this tour.

Has anyone done the Welcome to Disneyland tour since Cars Land opened? Just wondering if the bonus fastpasses have changed any. If anyone has taken it in the last few months, please post your thoughts of it. Thanks!
