My DH and I are doing a trip to DL without the kids in Sept. We have been to DL many time but never done any kind of tour before. I like that the Welcome to Disneyland tour comes with VIP viewing for the parade since that is one thing that we've never waited around for good seats to see. I think it would be fun to hear all the little tidbits about DL through a cast member, I'm sure we will already know most of the things they talk about but that's ok. It also says you get priority seating for dining, any idea what restraunts that is for? We have reservations for the Blue Bayou, would that help us get waterside seats? If so, should I move my reservations to after the tour? Right now our reservations are for Thursday but the tour would be Friday.

Has anyone done this tour? Will it be something fun for two adults with no children that have been to the park many times already?

We just did this tour in May 2012 and it was not only well worth it, but i would do it again. First off we checked in at 10:15 and met up with our group and tour guide, Omar, at 10:30 near the front gates in Disneyland. He talked a little about history and fun facts throughout the tour. First we went over to California Adventure, once again some neat facts while walking over, and went in and started by taking a ride on Soarin. after that we walked towards hollywood land and he told us to take note of where we will be coming for our priority seats today for Alladin, we were able to give a time after the tour. Then, we went to Tower of Terror, where he told us how to use Fastpass, and if we wanted, get a fast pass and we can use them anytime that day (as long as we show our lanyards we received that said Welcome to disneyland tour) then off to bugs land for a viewing of its tough to be a bug, more facts and fun, then to grizzly river for another fastpass if we wanted for World of color and a nice explination of world of color. Then on to Disneyland and straight up main St and to the left, adventureland. Who would like to get a fastpass usable for Indiana Jones at anytime today, oh we would. ok so we got that then over to Pirates of the Caribean and we walked in throught the out door, so we got right on a boat, then to the train station where we got on the train, over to Tomorrowland, and then after some facts over there, it was 2 hours later, and we were told to go to the tour pavilion if we wanted to make dinner reservations. Omar then gave us fastpasses for Star Tours and one other ride, i believe it was space Mountain, usable at any time that day. Well worth it, my 6 year old enjoyed herself, perfect mix of fun and knowledge. We were able to take this tour after entering the park at 9 am going on Indiana Jones, and meeting the fairies, and about 4-5 other characters and were there at 10:03 waiting until 10:30 for the tour. Very fun and well worth it, get omar, fun and professional.

Thanks! Sounds like a great time, I am excited to do it. As for the dinner reservations, did it get you anything special as far wait time for sitting or preferred sitting locations?
Thanks

I have never been to Disneyland before. Would this be a good tour to do on the first day in the park, later on in the trip or not at all?

I'd love to hear more about this tour, but can't seem to find it on the site! My hubby and I are going to DL this fall - last week in October / first few days in November - for our first time and it sounds perfect. Can anyone share the link, please? :-)

My family has done a few different tours over the last few years and not one of them disappointed us... When we had priority seating for the parade it was awesome and came with a treat and hot chocolate or coffee.

Also, we are a huge Disney family, but we all learned at least one thing new on each tour!

Where is the priority seating for the DL parade? How early before the parade starts do you have to be there?

Thanks for your info! :thumbsup2

Is the priority viewing perk only valid for the day of the tour? Can it be on a later date?

Do you have a choice of getting priority seating for either a parade or a show, or only for the show? I am not sure if it only offers priority seating for shows but not parades anymore. Just want to confirm this.

Thanks a million!! :thumbsup2

We took the tour in June. My family was glad we did it, but wouldn't elect to do it again. We were given our choices for dining reservations before our tour. Now I can't remember what the choices were - only three or four - except that Big Thunder BBQ was one of them. I want to say Blue Bayou was one.

We only got a choice for Priority Seating at the Aladdin show, which show times we wanted, and only for that day. I really thought we would have a choice between Aladdin and a couple of the parades, so we were a little disappointed in that.

She did walk us through the exit on POTC and directly onto a boat, no waiting, which was fun. And we left the tour with four sets of fastpasses. She got us fastpasses for two rides during the tour, and gave us bonus fastpasses at the end of the tour for Star Tours and Soarin'.

If I already have vouchers to VIP seating at Aladdin and all my dining reservations done, is it still worth the "time" and money to go on the tour? It will be a great treat if there is priority seating for a parade and also give me a reason to spend time watching a parade. I usually skip it except for the nighttime one at WDW. :confused3

Thanks for the update!! :flower3:

I really needed to know, so I finally called Disneyland. The CM told me that priority seating for either a parade or a show is included, and where the priority seating area would be depended on what parade was being chosen. I wrote down the CM's name, the time and date of the call. I would ask to confirm when I book the tour later this week. I would definitely go for it if I can get priority seating for a parade.

Keeping my fingers crossed!! More pixie dust please ...

So...I'm just making sure I am on the same pag as everybody else.

It IS a great idea for a first trip tour?

Does anyone have prices for this tour? I couldn't find any on the link posted, you have to call.

Yeah, I was told that, too. But in reality I was only given VIP seating for Aladdin. Keep the CM name info with you, so you can present that at the tour, if they tell you something different.

It's only two hours, so I thought it was worth the time. My only complaint, other than not getting parade seating, was she took us to the Muppet 3D movie. The previous show had just started, so we had to wait quite a while for the next one to start. I thought that ate up a lot of time where we could be touring. I also think the quality of the tour may be dependent on the CM giving the tour. But I don't regret taking the tour.

Thanks for the heads up! :thumbsup2 I will keep a positive attitude and wish for the best!! :goodvibes

Wow! I'm shocked at how little this costs. I know they don't get you lots of FP or a lot of rides but it seems like good value.

It says you get something sweet from the Candy Palace, anyone know what it is?

Man, I got ripped off. :) We took the tour June 23. We got no candy. :(

Do they use your tickets to get the FP's for you?

I'm thinking not, which would give you a chance to get at least one before the tour and then another after the tour.
