Welcome Home Wednesday - gone?

I noticed today that references to Welcome Home Wednesdays have disappeared from the DVC website. Does anyone know what's going on? (They still have the one at Disneyland listed.)

I saw a post on Facebook stating that they are reimagining the Welcome Home Wednesdays so that they can include more members. It's going to be another of their Member Surprises.

Disney Vacation Club to Re-Imagine Member Gatherings in 2015!


Inspired by Member feedback, Disney Vacation Club is re-imagining recurring Member gatherings at the Walt Disney World Resort. Replacing “Welcome Home Wednesday,” the new events will accommodate more Members throughout the year than ever before!

Uh oh...Welcome home Wednesday was on my youngest DD's list of things to do on her 11th b-day since we're staying at BWV this April trip. She wants her day to be a pool/community hall day and then to go to Welcome Home Wednesday and a character dinner.

At least they should have something established by April...just hope it can fit into the plans we already have.

You would think that the replacement event would be in place before they discontinued the regularly scheduled event.

Have there been any announcements about the replacement for Welcome Home Wednesdays yet? I had a lot of fun when I went for the first time in October, and I was looking forward to returning with the whole family in May.

Well, we did get some special PVB member sales pitches with free juice and apps. I attended one of those in early 2015.
Honestly, the member lounge is probably a better perk than WW was.

I went to the Poly sales pitch, too. They gave free Dole Whips. And the member lounge might be better than Welcome Home Wednesday, but Welcome Home Wednesday was available without a park entry fee.

I'd guess the replacement is the special parties they've been doing. Of course those aren't ongoing so not all members have an opportunity to attend those unless they happen to line up with a planned trip.
