Welcome Folder

As someone who lurks here, and was part of a destination wedding last June, letting your guests know how long it will take to get to a venue might be nice. Your guests may not know that it can take 45 minutes to get to a park/restaurant from their motel. It took 30 minutes from our hotel to the ceremony site, and 90 minutes to get to the rehearsal dinner site.

I'm NOT complaining, but had I known, I would have given the ring bearer, junior bridesmaid, and cranky chauffeur (sp!?) food at the beginning of our trek. We were in our VW beetle for over 5 hours :scared1:

Also, keep your people up-to-date on times. Poor Maura was in a sweaty t-shirt and dirty shorts (field days at school) the entire evening, and if communication had been better she could have changed a dozen times... but we never knew how much time we had... very confusing!

Too much info is WAAY better than too little!

I also think it would be cool to let your guests know about your favorite snacks in each park, where to find them, and how much they may cost. Dole whips, after all, are a reason to travel to WDW:cutie:

Awesome advice!! Thank you! And I LOVE the idea of the snacks :thumbsup2 I'm doing that!

:woohoo: I'm glad I posted this! I'm getting some GREAT ideas!!!

V - where'd you get a penny press guide?? :worship:

I wrote a little poem (got the idea from the surprise DFTW thread):

Now listen up folks, for I have a short tale
But not of a Queen, or of Dorothy Gale
This journey begins in a land far away
Before all the planning, the trip, the bouquet…

Once upon a time, in riverside house,
Our little prince dreamt of a black and white mouse
So twice every year, he would journey afar
Fueling his love with an elevator car ...

Our princess, she too, with her heart in her hands,
had dreamt of her prince and had scoured the lands
Her mother once told her, as mother’s they should,
That one day her searching would be understood…

After decades of searching, they finally meet
While he’s playing a gig at a bar on Main Street.
Funny how, looking back, it all lead to today –
In a whole different World, on Main Street USA ...

Some will speculate now, how their destiny’s plot
Was to join their two stories by tying the knot.
So join them and celebrate, with tears or laughter,
Whose next tale begins “Happily Ever After…”

I found the pressed penny guide on one of the Disney sites (allears, I think) I also added some information of my own at the top. If you want the word file just let me know and I can email it. BTW- I love your poem, it's so cute :)

I haven't posted pics in awhile but here is a sample of what I am thinking of for mine. pretty much the same things the others have mentioned... good luck with your plans:goodvibes
