Welcome back Fantasy Halloween Cruisers!! Details?!

I'm curious if...

1) The ship was in anyway decorated for Halloween?
2) The characters were dressed in Halloween costumes? Which characters did you see?
3) There were any fun activities for the kids such as pumpkin carving/decorating?

Yes the ship was decorated, all the windows had Halloween decals... Pumpkins carved (fake ones) and orange and black fabric draping ..

Yes, Mickey and Minnie are dressed in Halloween outfits.

No pumpkin carvings (good idea thou) or decorating. The kids clubs had Halloween decorations and small Halloween crafting items

Which day did they do the costume contest and party? I am looking specifically for the Fantasy.

Thanks,
Laurie
We did the eastern 9/21 sailing. Halloween was celebrated on St. Thomas day. Party on pool deck 4:30 with interviews with people in costumes. Pretty good. Adults celebration later that night. Sorry not much help as we did not participate. We did see children in costume at dinner hours dancing outside Royal Court and cast members in costume looking like they had candy to pass out. Festive and fun is what we witnessed. Hope this helps some.:goodvibes

Does anyone know if there is a Halloween party in Vibe, and are the teenagers wearing costumes?

We did not do Haloween deck party and I didn't notice any decorations on Fantasy. I can not tell if characters had any costums since we do not pay attention to it much. But we went to check out the adult costum contest in atrium. There were lots of people dressed in costums I believe 5 or so categories. CMs picked the finalists and the crowd decided who the winners were for each category. I believe the price was trophy. Sorry - no detail on trophy sine I stood too far to take a close look.

Was Nightmare Before Christmas played at all?

Just off the Fantasy 9/21-28. There were really no Halloween decorations until St. Thomas night. There were Halloween 2013 items for sale in the store, t-shirts, candy, coffee mugs, etc. At 4:30 there was a Halloween deck party for the kids (which I missed...) They had a couple Halloween crafts type things during the day and Halloween Bingo. The adult contest was at 10:15. I watched from the deck above...amazed at the types of costumes people packed! CM's picked 3 contestants for about 5 different categories. Scary, famous person, original, best Disney character, maybe humorous? One couple dressed like the DCL smokestacks! They won that category. One large family dressed like 101 Dalmations and they won. There was a great witch and she won. People dressed like Toy Story characters, Romans, Star Trek and Star Wars, 20's Chicago gangsters......one couple the lady dressed like the lamp from The Christmas story and her husband had a large wooden box outfit. The only decorations were some black and purple banners over the atrium area, which I think were gone again the next day. They had Club Halloween in the Tube at 11:45 PM which we did not attend. I can't remember if the characters had Halloween costumes but they must have!

The 101 Dalmations actually did not win. The other 101 Dalmations family (tons of people) who was not picked to go to finals was kind of bumped that the other group had the same idea and they all cheered for the other couple in the same category so the Dalmations group did not win. Kind of sad/childish that they did that. The Dalmations group who very cute.

Sounds like some people are missing the joy and too concerned about getting a trophy. Sad.

Did they do pirate night as well on this cruise, or did Halloween take its place?

Also, did many people wear costumes to dinner?

Did they allow families - including kids - to participate in the costume contest or was it only adult family members?

hello,
like a few others here, i was also on the 9/21 sailing. I"ll try to answer questions then my thoughts.

The regular schedule for pirate night, prince/princess night, formal night, etc was all kept. Nothing changed. Only that the St Thomas night was transformed into a halloween party (not a Halloween night). The navigator showed a few different halloween themed events in the day, but they were sparse because mostly everyone was on shore.

The only decorations (in general public areas) was purple and yellow banners in the atrium and some goods in the store.

Ship left port at around 3:45 and 4:30 was a halloween deck party. Characters came out dressed up, kids danced and that was it.

During evening turndown service, staterooms with guests under the age of 18 got a bag of candy. There was no trick or treating, only the entertainment staff members were dressed in costumes. No special halloween menu or dessert...which bummed me out.

The costume contest was pretty nice to watch...but thats been covered here already.

Overall, i think they could have done more than a deck party and contest...especially decorations, costuming for cast members, trick or treating for the kiddos that dressed up...then you can actually call it a halloween celebration...this was more like a costume contest. It was definitely a ton of fun seeing all the great costumes, just wished they would have moved it to the last sea day rather than a port day.

Yes! I want to know too! What were the prizes for the costume contests?

We were on the Fantasy and participated in the adult costume contest. We won for best original costume. Other categories were ; most funny, most scary, best Disney and group (won by a family of about 30 dalmatians :-) It was so much fun! There were some really creative costumes.

First time we saw the dalmatians, we were at the cove pool and they came out the doors by the forward elevators. They kept coming and coming and coming :rotfl2:

We were the smokestacks! I have pictures which I'll share once I upload them.

Did the kids dress in their costumes for dinner? Is it a casual dress code for those not dressing up or is it a normal cruise casual night and costumes are after?

We had the late dinner, but even before the early dinner we saw kids decked out. One boy had just come from the Boutique dressed like a fantastic pirate! And of course the Halloween party for the kids was at 4:30, so I'm sure they wore their costumes to dinner. It's like pirate night, wear your costumes and enjoy it! Otherwise it was cruise casual for dinner.

Oh okay, thanks. So the kids party is in the afternoon which is perfect.
