Just a few pics from our recent trip to Wekiwa Springs State Park
We had been kayaking last July just north of Titusville on a 'manatee' trip, and wanted to go again, but somewhere fairly local! We love it so much.. we're even thinking about getting our own kayaks!!

Looks great! We've kayaked in Wales - not quite the same wildlife!

Wekiwa definitely on the list for next year.

We went kayaking up north of Titusville last summer and it was a specific Manatee trip - see link below:

It was a fantastic day, we had a dolphin swimming around in the bay.. and a manatee came right next to our boat.. it rolled over and let me scratch its stomach!
Our pics aren't great, as my hubby was in charge of the camera and was a bit of a distance away, but there are some great pics on the above website.


The Wekiwa trip was down a river in the Apopka area, so nowhere near the manatee (they are in inlet waterways near the coast - on either side of Fl)
We enjoyed the manatee kayaking trip so much, we wanted find something a little nearer, so decided to go to Wekiwa! We certainly saw some fantastic wildlife there. As we were paddling up river, an otter surfaced and dived back under the water! Fantastic!

We would go back to both these places! If we were there when a shuttle goes up, we'd definitely do the shuttle launch trip!!
