Weird Shower Question - Suction Cups

Ok, I have the weirdest shower question! Has anyone tried sticking anything on the shower walls with suction cups? This worked on our Princess cruise - we hung a fogless mirror so that DH could shave in the shower, and I also hung 3 tiny plastic shower caddies - just large enough to hold sample-sizes of shampoo, body wash, etc. It made it so that DH, DSIL, and I each could keep our toiletries in our own caddy the whole time, rather than carrying them in and out of the shower each time.

Anyway, I know that suction cups don't work on every shower wall - like if it is textured. Has anyone else done this? I don't want to waste the space (or the pounds!) in our suitcases if it won't work!

Thanks in advance!

Hey - if I am getting this nitpicky, it must mean that most of my planning is done! ;)

Waiting for an anaswer to this question! Haven't seen any tiny shower caddies around. While we're waiting for an answer to your question, would you mind telling me where you found them? I always find built-in soap dishes and shelves completely inadequate for holding shampoos, etc within arm's reach.

I put suction cup hooks onto the walls to hold wet swimwear etc. They worked well.

I will say though, they were good suction cups and I think they had a mechanism where you put the cups on the wall and then pushed the hooks down to create a good seal/suction. (Can't remember exactly... Its been soooo long since I used them in January :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )

We've done this with a suction hook plus a basket that had two suction cups. Works great! We pack stuff in it when we are traveling to conserve space. We didn't bring it with us on a 4 night cruise, but will for all longer cruises.

I used those also. I believe I got a pack of 4 at Wal-Mart. The hooks stick up when you stick them to the wall, then you push the hook down into place to keep it stuck. They work very well for wet bathing suits, which can get really heavy.

The bathrooms have tile walls and the shower/bathtub part also have tile walls so you will be able to stick suction cup things to it. I missed the bathrooms on Disney when we sailed on Royal Caribbean in March.

Thanks - that's great to know! It makes it so much more convenient, too! :)

So where did you find the individual shower caddies, TrojanJulez? We know the killer hooks are available at WalMart....

Hi Marc-

I found mine at Bed Bath and Beyond. Can't remember how much it was, but it was fairly inexpensive, and I used the 25% off coupon they always mail out.

Hope that helps a little-

I got mine at Target, on the aisle with the large shower caddies that hang over the showerhead and the squeegees (sp?). They're very small - maybe 2 inches deep and 5 inches long, with 2 suction cups on the back. I hope that helps! :)

Thanks, Robb, Orlando-t-b, and TrojanJulez. I'm sure I'll find one or two somewhere. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

here's a picture of the bathroom
