I know this may be an odd question, but I know that someone would know this :cool1:

I am going to the Poly in February(shhh, family doesn't know that I am planning this, we went in May and I am hooked, it was my first time and we stayed in GF Lagoon View), I want to stay concerige garden view. My question is, in the lounge can you smell smoke. I have read that concerige is located in a building that does have smoking. My daughter is highly allergic to smoke. Thanks in advance, I love this board.

Also I think I am addicted to this board, I can't go a day without being on the board reading several times a day  ------ maybe will need a support group for that.... :rotfl:

I know 1/2 of the 3rd floor is smoking but it's the end on the far side away from the lounge. We stayed in 3508 non smoking and never smelled any smoke. Even when we walked down the hallway to use the stairs we didn't notice it.

no smoke - the rooms that allow smoking are on other end floor 3 and even though there is a loft on the 3rd floor in the lounge, it is closed off by a door.

We stayed in a smoking room last time (great view!!) and we didn't smell smoke from anywhere.

Smoking is optional only on the 3rd floor. I didn't see anybody smoking in the lounge.

I understand you. I am very sensitive to smoke too, get a migraine from it. I have to say that the concierge lounge has always been smoke-free in the times that we've been there. We always ask, and get, a non-smoking room. Although the third floor is only 1/2 smoking I have walked up there to see for myself how bad it is as I would really like a balcony, but IMHO the whole hallway is smokey, that is I could smell smoke. I do want to add though that prior to the Hawaii renovation the smoke was real bad on the third floor and the last time we were there was after they did the rooms over and it wasn't as bad. That being said, I would not take a room on the third floor due to smoke. This is just my opinion, as I said before, I am very sensitive to smoke. Some people would not find it a problem.

Have a Wonderful Trip!!!

Thank you for the update, it helps greatly in making decisions. We are as well very sensitive to smoke.

Have a Disney Day! :thewave:

There are doors between the 3rd floor lounge area and the hallway to the rooms and there is no smoking permited in any of the lounge area on any floor.

Aloha

I'm also very sensitive to smoke (also can't stand when anyone's wearing perfume nearby), and we stayed no problem 3rd floor GVC during peak Easter week. Requested and received non-smoking room and we never once either saw someone smoking or smelled any smoke anywhere on the 3rd floor, in the lounge, or in the Hawaii building.

I don't want to set your expectations too high -- there is always the chance the someone will smoke on their balcony -- or you could wind up with a smoking room if you request 3rd floor. The balcony was really nice, in my opinion, but I wouldn't request 3rd floor if it'll completely ruin the trip if someone in an neighboring room smokes or if you wind up in a smoking-allowed room.
