Weird question about ordering a humidifier for hotel room?

Is there a medical reason you need one or just a personal preference? Seems that most places in Florida would already be rather humid regardless of the time of year.

Very curious what would be the reason to add humidity/moisture to a room in florida where its already humid.

Because central air dries us out.

FYI if you'd like you can buy distilled water at the various resort mercantiles; I do that for my CPAP.
About how much do they charge for the distilled water. This is the first time I will be traveling with a CPAP and was thinking of ways to get water there since I'm flying. Thanks.

I live in Seattle and have gone to using a humidifier year round due to ac and heat drying my nose out.

Also a couple years ago when I went in March it was unreasonably cool and more windy than when I've gone in other months so it was far less humid and the wind dried my nose out.

I got this homedics humidifier off Amazon but target sells it for the same price. It lasts about 6 hours so not all night but it's generally enough when traveling or I refill it one of the times I wake up at night. It's good for one person, not a whole room. I also take it with me to work because our office is super dry year round.

It's a great size for travel but it does have a "light show" you can't turn off but it's not too bright/terrible. I'll be packing it when I go in a week and a half, I'd rather have it and not use it than have an irritated nose.

It’s been several years since we bought any at WDW, so we can’t remember the actual price. However, DH does remember that it was “outrageously expensive, like $5 or something” for a gallon. Since we almost always make a trip to the grocery (we mostly stay in DVC 1BR villas), we buy our CPAP water at the same time. But on the few trips where we were in a studio, we did find it convenient to pay the high price.

Thanks. I thought it would be crazy expensive. Normally, I drive from NJ with hubby but this time I'm flying with my daughters and granddaughter and won't be renting a car.

Yep, it is crazy expensive. If you’re ordering groceries for your resort room, you could order distilled water too. Or you could use tap water - we have, for short trips (2-3 nights). But there are times when paying for the convenience is worth it.

Last year at about this time we paid $2.99 per gallon of Zephyrhills distilled water at the Screen Door at the Boardwalk.

I think I will save a mouthwash bottle to use. I don't mind paying a little extra but more than double is ridiculous. I can get a gallon of distilled water here for $1.19. Since hubby isn't going with me, I will need less than half of the gallon.

Thanks for the information.

Yes, we bought a leakproof quart bottle to carry on some trips (we both use CPAPs). Remember that any bottle larger than 3 ounces will need to be packed in checked luggage, although maybe you could fit enough 3-ounce bottles of distilled water in your 1-quart baggie allowed in your carryon, depending on how many other liquids you need to bring.

If you are doing a grocery order, Walmart also sells humidifiers and you could add one to that order.

We used to use a travel size one, and it worked great even if it didn’t always last the whole night. When we got an Owners Locker we upsized and have a full-size one now.
