My daughter generally gets to spend her birthday at WDW (I know; lucky girl!). We've owned DVC for a couple of years, and I always book at 7 months. Since we've stayed at bigger resorts during some slower DVC times, it hasn't been an issue. However, this year my daughter really wanted me to book a studio at either Beach Club, Grand Floridian, or both for a 2/2 day split. Her preference, though, is 4 nights at BCV.
My 7 month window opened yesterday morning for our dates. At 2 a.m. eastern (midnight my time) there was availability at BCV. So I logged back in at 6 a.m. and--gah-- I typed my password that I've had for three years in wrong? So I tried again and checked cap lock. No go. So for the third and last attempt I chicken-pecked my password in sloooowly, and-- I got locked out. I stayed calm, and I ordered a password reset email. Nothing. Over the next HOUR I never got a password reset email (I tried 3 times) and when my account was unlocked it still wouldn't recognize my password. So I had to wait for MS to open.
MS opens, so I call them. 8 minute hold. But I'm on my way to work and I get 6 min. in and the call drops. I call back. 16 min. hold. I wait 14 min. and a rep gets on the line, goes to check something, and I get cut off. So I call back. Expected 18 min. hold. The rep answers, and I explain what happened and of course 2 of the 4 nights at BCV are gone, and what's left are the first and last nights of our stay. She can see that there is something weird with my account. Just mine. No issues with anyone else's that she knows about after asking around. Her supervisor offered to put us first on the wait list for BCV, which I accepted. Our dates are pretty much fixed, so I didn't see another option.
The MS rep was so nice, but I am so bummed that a strange IT issue caused us to miss a good opportunity. I'm not sure if we would have gotten what we wanted, but our chances were infinitely better at 6 a.m. than nearly 3 hours later. Hopefully the wait list will come through. Anyway, just venting.
