Thank you all in advance for your help!
I consider myself fairly seasoned when it comes to booking all things Disney, but I’ve been having a weird issue that I’m hoping somebody can please help me figure out.
The salient details:
-I have an AP, as does DS (DH doesn’t go as often and does his tickets a la carte, so he’s out of this issue)
-We always stay onsite with our DVC points
-We sometimes do have two trips booked within 60 days of each other
The issue is that the past two trips have been problematic when booking fast passes. My son is apparently allowed to have as many as he pleases, but when I get to about day 3, the system tells me that I have reached the maximum number of FP allowed and does not let me continue. I know that by staying onsite I should have 14 days of FP permitted- correct? But we have some booked for February (four days’ worth) and the system boots me after only three further days in March. I believe that it is only allowing me 7 days of FP despite staying onsite.
The last time I called in for help with this issue, the CM told me that the system was recognizing my son’s onsite stay, but not mine, so he assigned “fast pass planning keys” to my account that allowed me to make further fast passes for our next stay. However, when I called today with the same issue, I was told that these “keys” do not actually allow for an override of the system when it comes to a booking block and that they would not be able to replicate this for me as the key would only extend a window in the event of an expiring AP, etc. She told me that the only way to fix this would be for her to make all of my fast passes past the third day (when the system block started) for March and that if I wanted to make any modifications at all, including day-of, I would need to call in. This is not ideal as I don’t have a long distance plan and use a wifi calling app from Canada but the Disney wifi drops the calls too often to use it reliably. I had her make the fast passes in any case so as not to miss out of the headliners and sure enough, MDE does not show any option to modify them. She said that she had checked with IT multiple times during the call and this was the only way to do it as the system was “stuck” on only allowing me 7 days instead of 14.
So, my questions are:
1.) Was she correct? If so, how was the previous CM able to assign to me the ability to make FP after the last call?
2.) Was there an easier way to do this?
3.) Is this truly a system glitch with regards to the 7-14 day issue or could my suspicion be correct that the previous CM was accurate when saying that the system wasn’t recognizing my stay(s)?
4.) Is there any way to avoid this?
5.) Is there any way to manage these assigned FP without calling in? For example, the resort concierge or a Guest Experience CM? The one I spoke seemed to think the only way was to call.
I’m hoping to try to understand the situation as I’ve likely just not seen something obvious, but also hoping that the responses will help others
. Thank you!
