Next week they bring out their "new" plan. Any guesses what the changes are? I saw a poster up today and it said there were 2 ways to do WW. One was to count (i.e. Points) and the other was to not count. What in the world would that be? I don't want to go back to the old way of counting breads/fruits/ milk etc. the problem for me is figuring out casseroles and things like that. Points is easy. Well, any guesses anyone?

You can check on dwlz.com. Even though they don't officially let new changes be mentioned, someone posted a link to more info. I think found at 2fatchicks.com.

Thanks for the info. Hmmm, not sure about these changes. I guess I will give it a try and then decide what I like better... points or this new program. We'll see!

Neither do I!!!!! And, I was JUST discussing that with another stalled WW member!

She said she 'heard' from her leader that the plan is called 'no counting', so that IS different from what that site is saying.

Another post from right here, said low carb. I'm sorry, but WW has staunchly defended NEEDING carbs (at least since I re-joined in Jan), and I'm sorry to see them cave in, jmho. (I am a carb-needer, obviously) ;)

After successfully losing 55 lbs., and without restrictions on carbs, I personally, will probably stick with the Flex Points program. Again, jmho. But, I'm also open to anything new.

3 times doing WW, I've lost each time. It's worked for me, no matter HOW they count points/calories/activity, etc. ;)

Best wishes for success in either program! :sunny:

That info on 3 fat chicks is incomplete... I've got a few more details...

There is a list of core foods (and the plan, as I've known it, is called "Core Foods"). The list does include the things they listed on that site, but also more... like meats... I don't know the complete list, but one of my best friends, Carrie, was a leader (before she just moved out of the country) and divulged basic info to me about the plan after it was introduced to her and other leaders a few months ago.

Leaders were asked to test the program and she was very skeptical at first (which is the reason why she told me things about the plan even though she was sworn to secrecy... incidentally, she swore me to secrecy too, but I figured that since there's already some partial info out here and since the new plan starts in 2 days, I figured it was ok to share what I know...). But Carrie became convinced of the new plan's merits after she saw some great weight losses on it (and she was a girl that was sort of plateu-ing).

So here's what I know: you get the list of Core Foods, and you can eat any of those foods as much as you need to make you full. That's the big point about the new program, and the part that made Carrie the most nervous. The new program will work, but only if you watch your portion sizes. If you want to eat a food that's not on the Core Foods list, you still get 35 Flex Points for the week, and you can spend those Points on non-Core foods (and yes, bread is not a Core Food, so if you have a sandwhich, you'd have to count the bread Points but not the lunch meat). It sounds at first like WW went low-carb, but I think they're leaning more towards a South Beach/whole foods way of thinking rather than an Atkins. I think this plan will appeal to people who weren't keen on the counting Points, but it's important that, if they're new to dieting, they learn portion sizes at the same time... (I can totally see my dad eating a whole huge steak that's about 4 serving sizes and still believing he's sticking to his diet.)

I'm not sure how I'll like the plan... I've been very sucessful with counting Points and right now, it looks like I'd be giving up some foods with Core Foods that I really like (or spending my Flex Points on them... but I'm thinking I'll be very stingy with those). On the other hand, Carrie found when she started the new plan, that she could order things at restaurants that she'd never thought of ordering before (like steak) because they were Core Foods and now she wasn't spending Points on them. So the prospect of incorporating some new foods into my repetoire is kind of excitng. WW is offering a choice, so if you try the new plan out and it's just not for you, then you can go back to Points (though I bet all the new material will just be for Core Foods and that will probably be the only plan they teach to new members).

Anyway, I just thought I'd share what I know. We'll all get all the details starting Sunday, so it's not too long a wait. :)

Mornin to all!!

Will online WWs have the information for the new program? I just started but would be interested in hearing about the new program and then decide

Thanks!!

Have a Disney Day!!

Yes, WW online will have all the new information, and that should be starting Sunday. That's what my leader told us this week.

I hope that WW online will offer a choice, though, and not just be all new program for those of us who might want to stick with the "old" plan...

I guess we'll find out Sunday! :)

Hi all!

WW staff member here.

The new program WILL allow a choice. If you like your FlexPoints, you are MORE than welcome to stick with them!!!!

I really can't divulge too much - but I can tell you that the new program is designed to get you to eat HEALTHIER.

We had to try this new program out back in March, and I gotta say - personally, it's not my cup of tea. BUT, there have been tremendous successes, and I think my fiancée will be one who will enjoy success with the new program.

If on Sunday when they release information and you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

Thank you SO MUCH Dan, for checking in, and offering your help in the coming days!!! You're a sweetie! ;)

I think that every diet plan or as I like to think of it as an eating lifestyle is different for everyone. I think some people will find success with the new program and others will like the old way better. Just as Atkins is not for everyone the new program may not be either. My sister works for WW, she has been at goal since last fall and she was required to try the new program for 2 weeks before it was introduced to the public, as of yesterday, a week and a half into her trial phase of the new program she has lost 4 pounds and is very excited. So for her it is working, not sure how I will fare, but I am willing to check it out.
