Weight loss surgery and DDP - experiences or tips

I had gastric sleeve surgery a few weeks ago and we are planning a trip for 10/2014. On all of our past trips we have taken advantage of the DDP when we've had free dining. Now I'm not so sure. I know Disney makes no exceptions for WLS patients and that's cool with me, don't expect them to. I guess I am just wondering if the DDP will still be of value to us or if a room discount would be our best bet. We will be a family of 4, DH, DD8 and DS5. They are all pretty good eaters so really the only one "wasting" food would be me. We enjoy eating TS and buffets quite a bit.
