Mike: So sorry to hear your news. Bummer about the surgery, but even worse that they didnt get back to you sooner. I dont blame you for being so upset. Be smart about your recovery and Im sure this wont set you back too far. Sorry about losing your genius post. I usually write up my posts in Word then copy it to avoid just that.
Jeff: Sorry you had to suffer thru another day of running in paradise. Thanks for posting the picture. How great is that!
Debra: Im glad to see you back on this thread. It will be good to concentrate on XT for a while. Always having to run can be draining. Good luck with the weight loss goals. Im sure if you lose 15 lbs it will go a long way in helping you cut 5 minutes from you time. I read in RW that you can expect 2 sec/mile/lb lost.
Tracey: I dont have those tread things for my running shoes, but was thinking they would have been good to have, especially as I was trying to run up hill. I love your picture with Minnie. You look so happy!!! I like your idea of including 1 household chore on your list. Im going to start that too. Good luck with DS potty training. I feel for you. My twins will be 4 this weekend and we still struggle some days. I cleaned up 4 accidents yesterday alone. So cool that you met Team Hoyt. They are supposed to be at my marathon in February as well as Frank Shorter and Bill Rodgers. Im psyched to meet them all though will probably be too nervous to say anything.
Jeanne: I always thought that NC would be a nice compromise weather wise. Sign up for Goofy!! Its the 5th anniversary, there are a bunch of us doing it, the more the merrier and you can always go back in 2011 for your jacket. I totally agree with the distance training and weight loss issue. Every marathon I ever trained for caused me to gain weight. I think its a combination of my body craving more calories and my mind deciding I deserve that second or third helping.
Beth: Good luck with the Biggest Loser competition. Winning the money will be nice, but bragging rights will even be better. Have a great time at Foxwoods. Enjoying yourself guilt-free for the weekend will so be worth being a little more diligent this week. Stick with it!!
Julie: Congrats on your first marathon. I look forward to reading your race report. You deserve some celebratory treats. Enjoy!!
Susie: Welcome to the Lean Mean thread. We are here to help you through the tough spots and be inspired by your successes. Im glad to see youre doing Goofy 2010 as well. I havent heard of the Advocare supplements so will be interested in hearing how they work for you. Ive found a great before picture of me that Ill post as soon as I can find a nice after shot. Of course the after shot is still a work in progress.
Maria: Hugs to you. Im so sorry you fell, but so proud that you got up and kept going!!! Good for you for not giving in. No one can take that away from you!!! Im glad youve signed up for 2010. Maybe Ill get a chance to meet you then. Im willing to bet weve passed within miles of each other in our daily lives. Once I finally meet you well probably run into each other all the time.
Amy: Sorry you didnt get your picture with the characters. I never found them last year when I finished either.
Yesterday was a rest day. I brought all 3 kids with me to a WW meeting. I really felt like I needed the meeting. I didn't lose any weight for the week, which is pretty sad since I had just run 18 miles the day before, but you can imagine how the eating went last week. I'm not sure if it's the cold weather or what, but I'm having a hard time sticking to my WW pts since Christmas. I'm trying to be diligent this week so that I can have a bit of a treat this weekend at my kids' birthday party. I guess I just have to keep trying until I find the groove again.
Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

That's bad news. I'd be angry too, especially because of the timing. I'm not sure why they didn't tell you in November--I was MIA from WISH--but that really is not cool. (In my parlance, "not cool" is the pg-version of profanity--as strong as it gets.) Will you even be able to train enough for your IM to complete it safely? I mean, I know you have the determination and the overall health, but I don't know what the surgery and recovery entails.

So somebody tell me to "man up" and quit whining. On second thought, maybe you can just beat me into submission.
That might work. Or at least give me something else to complain about.
, but other than that I did really well. That's what I get for staying up too late. Jon Stewart made me hungry!
Plus, to get out in our ridiculous weather and run -- you are totally awesome! When I grow up, I want to be like Cindy!
How's it goin' today?
. My husband met a new contractor yesterday....they started talking and.....he has 4 kids, we have 4 kids, they love Disney, we love Disney, DH says, "My son and wife are runners...." new guy says, "My wife started running a couple of years ago, she got it into her head to run the Disney 1/2"......my DH says, "We just got back!" Small world....now if I can just convince DH that we can go back next year
::cop:
My gym has a private instructor (actually they only do private classes) so I might do a few with her and get a feel for how to do the movements. I'll see if I can bring a couple of people to bring down the cost.
I really have to make a better effort this year. Snacking is one of my weakness. Like I had popcorn while watching Lost last night. I didn't get to watch the second hour but yay for shirtless Sawyer!
And then the TM after that, double wow!
for a speedy recovery.
Do you think we can talk Nancy into joining us?
Have a great weekend everybody.
I'm on the BL7 one here, and that has been eyeopening -- some people really lose alot of weight each week, and I am not necessarily one of them! I just can't seem to restrict my calories enough to make that happen, but I am doing better with following WW, so hopefully I will gradually reduce my intake.
My chin is almost back to it's normal shade, with only a small bump left. It really doen't bother me, and I'm sure it will be a distant memory soon.
