I'm wondering what are the advantages and disadvantages of WeGoShop vs. Garden Grocer.

In addition, can you prepay for either or both of them them so you don't have to be at the resort when they are delivered?

Thanks.

Have not used WeGoShop, so cannot comment there. Garden Grocer has been very easy to use. Pick what you want from their online "store" give them a credit card number & they leave the order with bell services. Once you get your room, call bell & have them deliver it. Don't forget to tip the bell guy. :)

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards App, please excuse any typos.

Used Garden Grocer this past June. They couldn't deliver alcohol at that time but this was not an issue with us. Everything we ordered came to the resort and was delivered to the room by bell services. They can deliver alcohol now and will be using them again for our 10 stay at OKW this July. It is said that we WeGoShop will shop at several stores and get the brands you want. but I found the list making site difficult to figure out (not super technologically savvy!), and I didn't need items from different stores, so I just picked from the brands available on the Garden grocer site, made my list, and submitted my payment. Very easy. I would recommend them anytime.

Haven't used WeGoShop...............but have used Garden Grocery 5-6 times.
Everything is easy and delivery too.
Use them every trip now.

The alcohol Garden Grocer provides now is only whats available on their site right? I know they used to be able to go to a package store and get what you wanted.

I think this points out the difference in the two business models quite well.

Garden Grocer has what they have on their shopping list, which is marked up slightly from what you'd pay in the store yourself. I haven't heard anyone complaining about lack of selection, so I assume their shopping list is adequate for most folks.

WeGoShop will shop anywhere you want (including Costco, Super Walmart, etc) and buy any brand, flavor, size you specify. They bring you the receipt from the store, and add a small service charge to the total. There is no markup on individual items.

With either one, you can have groceries delivered to your resort without you there. The resorts have refrigerators for that purpose, so you don't have to be present.

With either one, you are obviously going to pay a premium for them shopping and delivering, but it's a small amount for a huge convenience -- especially if you are flying in and won't have a rental car.

In the distant past, service complaints have been reported here on the DIS with both companies -- but those were several years ago and I haven't heard any complaints about either one in the last 2-3 years. I think you'd be fine with either company.

I researched both for our March trip and we used Garden Grocer. Good selection, prices are fine, process is super easy. The are very good at communicating and probably over communicate (I prefer that to under communicating -- I enjoy knowing every step of a process). They called twice before the trip to confirm (passive -- just left a message acknowledging my order and that it would be there), they text messaged me the day of numerous times to tell me the status of my order and then a final text when they had dropped it off at the hotel. The bellman came up with the order and our luggage quickly. It was perfect. We are using them for our December trip too!

I think i read somewhere that if alcohol is ordered, the order won't be delivered until it is signed for? How does that work if the groceries get there before you? Thanks.

We've used WeGoShop for all of our trips...love them! They shop for the best deals, deliver as agreed to, and unpack for you.

Two thumbs up from me and mine!

We ordered food and beer from Garden Grocer last week for delivery this coming Friday. All we had to do was scan and fax or email a copy of the driver's license of the person ordering. It was painless and easy.

We've used both with alcohol in the orders, and we prefer Garden Grocer. With them a simple fax or email of your driver's license is all they need to deliver to Bell Services. When we tried WeGoShop, she would not deliver to Bell Services, so we had to wait on her to meet us outside the lobby. And of course there was some sort of traffic issue that day, so we had to wait about 20 minutes or half an hour for her when all we wanted to do was get to the parks! ;)

We use Garden Grocer and always include beer with our order. I like them because they WILL leave the order with Bell Services even with the beer. I don't want to wait around for a grocery delivery & always have the order delivered around the time our plane lands then we just have it brought up from Bell Services when we have our luggage delivered. :thumbsup2

take a piture on phone and attach to a text message. beverages deliverd. Omly slight complaint I had was beer was not cold. after all the talk of refrigerators at bell services I assumed I would have a cold beer upon arrival. No such luck and our order was delivered minutes before we arrived. Otherwise we loved the selection, price and ease of GG.

You would probably have to request COLD BEER in the comments section on your order. But I am sure that Bell Services has limited refrigerator space and beer is probably not their priority to keep cold when there are dairy products that MUST stay cold. Our only problem on our last trip was the silly Bell Services guy didn't bring up all of our order. We had a case of beer, 2 cases of water, a bag of non-perishable items, a bag of refrigerated items AND a large family size box of frozen waffles. The first trip up he forgot the frig. items. When I started putting things away & realized everything that everything missing was cold items I called down and he brought the frig. stuff up BUT NOT the frozen stuff. So I had to send him back down 1 more time to look in the freezer for my waffles. None of this was GG fault, only the nitwit Bell Service guy we happened to get that day who just wasn't very thorough.:rolleyes1

We've used WeGoShop and it worked great. Since they just go to the grocery store you can order anything that you'll find in the store yourself. They arrived on time and unpacked everything. They were very easy to work with.

I have not used grocery delivery, but I have done a little research on it. One of the positives I can see is there is not minimum purchase with WeGo. The delivery fee is higher, but I (as a single) wouldn't have to order $40 (I think, maybe $50) of food to get it delivered. I did a sample order on Garden Grocers and my total was $28 for everything I needed for a 5 day stay. Not haveing to add on to get to the minimum would be worth the slightly higher fee. Plus with the lack of mark-up, I'm guessing the total before fee would be at least 10% less.

Let me know if this is false. All I've done so far is theoretical.

I have used both, and we prefer We Go Shop. Amy is great to work with, and I love having them come up to our room and unpack. They have always provided excellent customer service. I am in the service industry, and I look for companies that appreciate my business. I give Amy and We Go Shop two thumbs up! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Same here. I actually emailed Wegoshop a question and the woman called me. She was very insistent on delivering to the room or meeting us outside the hotel for delivery. (It didnt have to do with alcohol delivery either. She was just explaining how it worked). Anyway, I decided to go with Garden Grocer instead, just because I dont want to be bothered "meeting" for the order. Would much prefer it just be left with bell services.
