Okay, so I posted on here the other day about taking our daughter to DL for her first birthday in September... :cool1: But I've got another question! We were planning on going Sept 14 & 15 (Monday & Tuesday) but now that I'm thinking about it and remembering that DL doesn't do things like WDW :sad2: I'm wondering if that's a time of year that we wouldn't be able to see the parades and fireworks those days? Our days are totally flexible since we wont be there ON her birthday (it's Labor Day weekend and I REFUSE :scared: to go then!) But now I'm wondering if we should go over the weekend instead? I want her to be able to see the parades and such! What do you DL'ers think? I've only been once and that was during Spring Break when everything was going on! HELP! :sad1:

Fireworks and Fantasmic will almost certainly be closed on September weekdays after Labor Day. You will likely be able to catch a parade though. If you have two days and want to be able to see things like fireworks, consider going Thursday-Friday. Fridays usually have fireworks and crowds don't really kick in until the evening. If you want to have the best chance to see fireworks (i.e., two evenings) then go Friday-Saturday.

What about Sun & Mon? You'll get the same ent/hours Sun that you would on Fri or Sat and I imagine crowds would be a bit lower on a Sun evening compared to a Sat evening. Last April our trip started on Sun 4/20 ~ we would've completed the Trifecta (Electric Parade, Fireworks & Fantasmic) had they not cancelled the fireworks  we did see the EP & Fantasmic though!

Okay all my wonderful DIS friends! Here's another thought that my husband and I just came up with... :woohoo: What if we DO go on Labor Day weekend... The plan in to spend 2 days at DL and 2 days with my aunt in Torrance, so now we're thinking spend Thursday and Friday at DL (3rd & 4th) which would put us there ON Jordyn's birthday! and then spend Saturday and Sunday at my aunts house and drive home on Monday? Would the crowds be crazy yet that early in the weekend? I'm thinking prolly not cuz it's a long weekend and I'd think ppl would do Sat-Mon, but again, I don't know. We don't mind crowds (we both used to work at WDW!) but we don't want to crowds to overwhelm DD :cutie: and her not enjoy everything DL has to offer! UGh... I think I think things through too much! But I'm relying on your 'expert' opinions to help me here! :surfweb:

I spent Labor Day weekend (Sun & Mon) at DLR a couple years ago and was surprised at the lack of crowds. It was one of our very best trips ever.

I think that many school tracks are already back in session and people are done with their summer vacationing, add that to many of the local AP's being blocked out and it makes for reasonable crowds.

Just wanted to add my $.02. :)

If you don't mind me asking, DangerMouse, where is 'Hotter Than Hell AZ' ? I'm in Queen Creek!
