Week before Thanksgiving week

We've tentatively booked Nov. 16-22 at the Contemporary (got an amazing deal on a tower room + 30% discount code from Orbitz, hard to pass up!).

Are we right in assuming crowds should - hopefully - be fairly low during that week, since most people would be arriving the next week for Thanksgiving? We were originally going to try to arrive right AFTER Thanksgiving, but changed our minds when we found this deal - and sort of figured that it might be more crowded the weekend directly following Thanksgiving anyway...

And are most of the Christmas decorations up at the parks/resorts at this point?

You are thinking correctly. Have you looked at easywdw.com yet? His November crowd calendar/comments will give you a very good idea of what to expect on a daily basis.

P.S. How do you get the extra discount code from Orbitz? I, too, booked at November stay through Orbitz, saving a lot of money over Disney, but I've only ever seen their published "public" discount codes and keep hearing of other much larger discount codes...

Thanks, I hadn't checked out that site yet. Looks like a great week crowd-wise, if that's accurate!

For Orbitz, we got a personal discount code sent to us via email for 30% off a hotel booking. We booked through them earlier this year, so they must send out special codes to previous customers.

I played around with our dates a ton on there and the rates really shifted depending on what dates I put in. For instance, checking in for about a week on Nov. 15 or 16 only brought up a surprisingly low price for a Contemporary tower room (it was cheaper than their rate on a garden wing room which made no sense, but I'll take it). We booked it right away in case it was a glitch! ha. My daughter's obsessed with trains, so she's going to be so excited to see the monorail right outside our room!

That's wonderful about the upgraded room category being cheaper...love it when things happen like that!! Happy that it will be a little something extra for your daughter! With that room and that crowd week, you're already on your way to a magical stay!

Thanks! I will also be about 6 months pregnant (first time visiting Disney pregnant), so the convenience of the Contemporary is definitely going to be worth it. This is a special trip with our daughter before the new baby comes. :)
