Week Before Christmas Crowds?

Hi all,
we were going to go to Disney for Thanksgiving, but DH has to travel a lot in November for business and so he wants to be home for T-day. Now we're debating about going December 17th-22nd. We'll have hoppers and we're staying on sight. How bad is it going to be then? Will I be out before the Christmas crowds. TIA

You know it is hard to say. Disney has surpassingly low rates that week. We were potentially looking at visiting on those dates, but decided to go in June 2012.

I would say the crowds will overall be moderate (maybe a little less than mid-June). There not bad, but that Thursday will be probably busiest. This year happens to be the one year that most schools (at least in South Florida(where I live)) will get out for Winter Break the 23rd. So, due to that I think the crowds would be unusually fine.

You should be fine, particularly because you have hoppers! Have a great trip!

I've been at WDW starting the Wednesday before Christmas. It shouldn't be too bad at the start of your trip, but it will be progressively more busy with each day.

I live in South Florida, too! What county are you in? I am in Broward in a small town called Parkland. Our last day is the 16th.

The Florida resident passholder blackout period starts on 18 December thru New Years. That is a big hint...more people than usual coming to the parks and we gladly stay away during that time.

One more question: I know there is a Christmas Parade that is during the day in MK as it gets closer to Christmas, do you think my days will be included in this?

I believe the Christmas parade in the MK starts after the last MVMCP.

We have been many times the week before Christmas and are doing it again this year (17-26). The crowds are usually pretty good up until the 23rd.
