Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Hi all! I've been watching this thread on and off and wanted to jump in! Heading to Disney 11/27-12/3 with a party of 6 - myself, DH, DD (9), DS (6), and my parents. It's the first visit ever for my kids, and the first visit in decades for all the adults. We're super excited! Here are our plans so far... I cannot believe FP selections are coming up so soon. We booked this trip back in Nov 2015 so it just feels like we've been waiting forever.

11/27 - ETA 10:30 a.m. / afternoon & evening @ Animal Kingdom / Tusker House @ either 4:20 or 5:50 (depends when final park hours come out)
11/28 - Universal Day / 6:15 Hoop Dee Doo
11/29 - Epcot - 9:45 Garden Grill / 3:45 Via Napoli (CP package) / 6:45 CP w/ NPH
11/30 - Magic Kingdom - 9:25 Whispering Canyon
12/1 - a.m. TBD / afternoon & evening Hollywood Studios (hoping for Star Wars fireworks)
12/2 - a.m. TBD / afternoon & evening Magic Kingdom / 2:15 Crystal Palace / MVMCP
12/3 - Epcot / 3:45 Magical Express pick up

Staying at Boardwalk Inn.

Looking forward to counting down with some fellow Disney folks! My DH & family are excited to go but not at all interested in planning, so I'm a little on my own...

Welcome!! :welcome:

Our AK days match up. :)

3 of the 6 days I'm there have 2 columns each on my planning spreadsheet for "alternates" but I think this is as fixed as it can be at this point so I'm posting it:

11/26-Arrive MCO at 11:45-check in and head downtown for 3PM Trex lunch/dinner? head to MK for Wishes chaos (Alternate- DHS and Minnie's Dine and SW Fireworks)
11/27-DHS; Sci Fi Lunch 11:40; Boat to Epcot; 6PM Via Napoli; Illuminations
11/28-AK; relax pool midday; AK nighttime entertainment? (Alternate: 5PM Trex if Saturday doesn't work out)
11/29-MK; pool midday; MVMCP
11/30-Epcot; 11:55 Coral Reef; hop to MK for EMH; 6pm Tony's (Alternate: DHS for SW fireworks THEN to MK)
12/1 DHS; Minnie's Dine 5:15
12/2 MK- Magical Express at 2:15

I'm realizing now I have 2 midnight park closings in a row and I scheduled all early EMH hours so this will be yet another Disney trip where I get no sleep. Just gives me more excuses to take a nap in the hall of presidents :)

We will Be at T Rex at 4pm on the 26th, DHS on the 27th, MK on the 29th, Epcot part day on the 30th (and wishes that night too!)! I like your plans, obviously :D

I've been lurking around this thread for a while. My SO and I are heading down on 11/24 for 10 days. We are doing a split stay POFQ and OKW. He has never been to WDW before and this will be our honeymoon.

I can book my FP's in 10 days. I haven't been since 2009, so much has changed and having to actually book the FP in advance is making it tough for me, but I think I have a decent plan.

My SO booked the Sense of Africa tour for me, I am so excited and we are doing the CP package at Rose & Crown on 11/29. I have been going back and forth on whether I want to do the Star Wars Dessert party if the Fireworks are on our DHS night, if not I'm not rearranging my plans.

We are doing a modified monorail crawl,we are doing all the MK area resorts, the SO wants to go over to Fort Wilderness, so we will start there and end up at the California Grill for a late dinner and to see the Christmas Party Fireworks.

So looking forward to this trip.

Well I think I'm now officially looking for a BOG pre-party dinner on 11/29 for 2. I started reading reviews and now I want to go see it. But since that's our EMM morning and we'll have a breakfast buffet, I think a lunch would be too close to the breakfast. So anything 4-6pm.

I did my time with the kids! Glad we can just go and do what we want and not have to worry!

Having no young children will be here before you know it, then you will be looking forward to taking the grandchildren!

Very true. And I am beside myself excited to watch them experience Disney for the first time!!

Hi! I'm not sure why I haven't found this group/thread before now so I'm a little late to the party! I am headed to Disney 11/26-12/4 with DH, and DD9. I just purchased tickets for MVMCP for 12/1 and EMM at MK on 11/29! We haven't been to Disney for almost 5 years and can't wait to see the World decorated for Christmas!

We didn't/couldn't travel until our kids were a bit older, so i have never done a trip with very young children...looking forward to our first trip with grand kids, mostly!

Found this tip on FB... we are adding it to our list of cool things to do!

So here's a very little-known fun thing to do at Hollywood Studios - become an Honorary Citizen of Walt Disney World, by taking a citizenship test!! Stop by "One Man's Dream", ask the very first cast member you see for a citizenship test. Use the exhibit to complete your test (3 short questions), turn it in to the cast member at the end of the exhibit hall, and receive a certificate, button and your name will be written in their logs! I just had my 2 kids do this today. Only 10-20 people do this each day out of the thousands that visit WDW - they don't advertise it, you have to ask. Have fun!

That's fantastic! I will have to add to my itinerary so I don't forget to do this!
