Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Let's talk resort-hopping. We have a couple of down days. Planning on Disney Springs, but I'd also like to see any good Christmas displays and eat some QS meals and/or snacks out and about. Thinking Boardwalk for entertainment value. Other suggestions?

As long as you are over by the Boardwalk, stop by the Yacht and Beach Club as they have had really beautiful Christmas displays in the past.

We are staying at CSR. We will see Poly and AKL for sure with meals at each, and hoping to get to GF and WL to see decorations there, too.

Since we aren't doing any Christmas parties I've got resort meals planned for 2 MK days - we will see the WL and the poly those days. And dinner at Boma on our AK day so we can see the AKL too. I'm pretty excited to see all the decorations!

Agreed to check out BC and YC if going to boardwalk! BC has a gingerbread carousel that is amazing. Even better that DD loves horses more than life itself. Everyday was pure excitement going to the lobby to see the horses. GF is supposed to be absolutely amazing Christmas displays. We went to Contemporary for dinner last year and can't remember even seeing anything special of note. Dolphin/Swan had a giant Christmas tree made out of poinsettias.

also check out Etsy.com - there are numerous people selling Disney design stuff, not sure if it's copyright infringement, but they have been doing it for a long time.
Yes, it's copyright and trademark infringement, unless the seller has licensing arrangements with Disney, which are very expensive and very difficult for a small Etsy-level seller to get.

Disney does regular sweeps of Etsy in which a large number of unlicensed sellers get shut down. Etsy can only shut down the ones Disney reports to them. Disney doesn't report all the sellers, but word gets around when this happens and you see many sellers de-listing a number of products so they don't get caught and have their shops permanently closed.

Oh my goodness, I've got up to 3 special things I want to have us do on our trip: MVMCP, EMM, and now the Star Wars fireworks dessert party! I know only one of those is actually on the schedule and bookable at this time, but hopefully the others will show up eventually. I'll have some decisions to make!

Looks like reviews of the new SW show and dessert party are very positive! Gah so tempting. And so pricey :scratchin

I just cancelled a 4:20 at H%V on Dec 4 if anyone is interested. I was able to finally pick up a later time. Two people

The Wishes Dessert Party have not been released yet for non-party nights. Since booking on the 180 mark they have released "Wishes Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace." Any ideas when they will release the non-party night dessert party?!?

When I called I was able to book wishes dessert party for a non-party night.

I think (and this could be very old info) that the WIshes Dessert Party in the Hub is only available for resv the day of. Tomorrowland Terrace one in the past has only been available 90 days out. But...I'm going on old info...maybe someone else can clarify.

EDIT: looks like 90 days out for TTFDP....and doesn't show anything for HUB

Let's talk photo pass - do you guys always purchase it? I went back and forth about it last year and didn't do it, because I'm a hobby photographer and was underwhelmed by the quality mostly. But my kid LOVED to look at the ride photos and videos so I am bummed not to have those after the fact. We really didn't do but 1 character meet, and probably will only do 1 or 2 this time too.

I took a lot of my own pics, but other than family selfies (ussies? Haha) I only have like 2-3 good pics of me with the kids and 1 really good family pic that was taken by a PP photographer with my camera. I'm considering it this year, but still can't quite get over the cost and whether we will use it enough to make it worth it other than ride pics.

Thoughts?

yes, I usually get it...we're terrible at taking selfies - and love the fact that everyone is in the photo. I know the Dis Photographers will take a photo with your phone/camera for you, but to me, this just feels .... well, wrong to do somehow.

I like the ride photos, and the fact that you can use download the photos to share within hours of them being taken. SOmetimes we have had some pretty special photos that we would have never gotten ourselves - hugging Chewie at the Launch Bay, dancing with the Beast at BOG...

We also take our own photos, and then when we get home, I put a PowerPoint slide presentation together with everyone's photos, so we can have a get together and relive our trip!

I'm late to the party (and late planning). My husband (29) and I (31) are going to Universal 11/25-11/27 and Disney 11/28-12/4 for a belated Honeymoon. It is his first trip ever and my first trip as an adult. Currently we are booked for a 1 bedroom villa at the Boardwalk Inn.

Oh and I have no ADRs made yet! The date happened in the middle of a 2 week illness for me and I just started trying to get some daily plans made. We really aren't too worried about where we eat though and are not on the dining plan. We didn't want any of the really popular places our character meals. I'm more concerned about good touring plans to avoid long lines as much as possible.

I felt weird asking st first, but they were so great about it. Of course they took their own shots first, then took a few with mine as well. Nobody ever made me feel bad for asking, and one asked me if I wanted them to use my camera before I even asked!

Congrats and welcome :flower1: sounds like a great belated honeymoon!
